Title: New to ukGTR
Post by: Adam D on January 10, 2013, 08:39:36 PM +0000
Hi Chaps,  my name's Adam from Bristol.  I've been sim racing for a few years but have recently been out the cockpit, but GTR2 is always the sim to get be back in my race seat.

I've got two young daughters, house and wife, so racing isn't always on the cards ;) but the aim is to get a bit practice in and join you for a few races where I can.

One silly question so far: one of the threads talks about full time series members, reserve drivers and when people should and shouldn't join the server.  Question is where can i find out if the grid is full, and how many reserves there might or might not be?  I've seen the race thread (i.e. details for Road America) but nothing specifically about who might be racing.

Hope to see you on the black stuff.

Adam
MTK Racing.

Welcome Adam from Bristol ;D

Yeah that "full time series members, reserve drivers..." info is 2-3 years out of date sadly, when we used to have to fight to get on the servers it was so busy! Alas iRacing claimed most, but we still get approaching half full grids each week, so usually a couple of people at least at your own pace.

If you look to the top right of your screen, you'll see "U16 Road America (Full)", that's the area for upcoming races. All UKGTR2 races start with a "U" ("P" = PnG / "L" = GTL).

I'm the same as you with the two young daughters, so know how tough it can be... but hope to see you at a race soon 8)
