THIS POST IS FOR THE LIGHT & HEAVY RACES

The series will run on two separate grids ~ The Lights will run on T7 & the Heavys on UKGPL 3. Please ensure you join the correct race. The Driver list is shown below & the Championship Table can be found here F2 Trophy  (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=389&theme=6)

Handicaps will apply from the Round – please observe this rule as a failure to take the correct car will result in an exclusion.
In the Lights Dean Logan – Group II (BT14, Ferrari or Cooper). Tristan & v Evil Group III – any of the Group II cars or either Lola or either Lotus.
In the Heavys – Rog UK – Group II, Rainier & Ed76 – Group III.
This season’s handicaps should not severely disadvantage the top three drivers, but give the pack a chance to compete.

Incidents should be reported in the usual way.
In line with other divisions the races will be subject to full moderation in the red zone which will br adjacent to the pit lane entry, after the Big Bend. The Moderator may chose to investigate any other incident, in addition to reported incidents & red zone incidents.

Please note that for UKGPL has introduced a system of penalties within each series for drivers accumulating yellow cards – see here
Penalty Points (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=10879.0). Drivers incurring these penalties will receive a PM advising when a penalty has been applied & what race it should served.

Thanks Fulvio.

Arf - I've had enough moderating fist fights in the F2's - so you can go back to being Arf.

Thanks for changing the name, Billy, i feel calmer and more reasonable already!

Sadly I won't be able to join you all tonight, as I shall be driving a Corvette through Death Valley at the time you're racing...... Lets compare notes later and see who has had the most fun  :)

I thought of doing a good place but awkward in the first loop requires me to leave last, I went up well until the 18th round and there I was put on the roof 2 times .... so shift R and abandonment .

  Sunday was a very happy .... ;D

Winning the F2 at Watkins Glen was very difficult ..G. Heard was always very close and I knew everything would be 1 error.

Another good reason for joy was to find my CD for GP500 and walk with RG500 1980. :tt1:

Managed to get a tow from T Bot in qually so my grid position flattered me, I wasn't that quick!  The race was pretty exciting.  I bumped into Dean at the 90 on lap 5 when he spun.  Sorry mate I couldn't miss you but thankfully neither of us needed a shift-R.  Got going again and a few laps later on lap 10 I got tangled with Dean again under braking for the Big Bend.  I was on the inside when Nicky moved over and braked a little earlier than I expected.  I moved to the left to avoid him but then Dean couldn't avoid me and we both crashed out.  Sorry about that.  The race resumed again and this time I was on my own for a while.  Robert John was about 5 seconds ahead but I couldn't make a dent in his lead without a tow.  I saw Ronnie was only 3 seconds behind me so I decided to wait for him and try to work with him to close down Robert.  Big mistake LOL.  Ronnie was too quick and I couldn't draft past on the straights and we ended up fighting for position which allowed Axel and Dean to catch up.  The last 5 or so laps were very hectic but good clean racing.  It looks like Ronnie crashed out at the Loop (because of warp contact?).  Unlucky Ronnie.  Just held onto my position at the end, one more lap and Axel would have been all over me!

Apologies due.
Lap 6 - not a good idea to hit the chief moderator. I was 4th of 4 cars going into the Loop. I though I had braked early enough & kept the inside but ran into the back of Paul as he cut in from the outside.
Lap 20 (about) at the top of the esses I believe Boggy had reset & was stationery. Sorry - but no real time to react.
For the record - this series has a 1 Shift R rule. If you Reset & respawn inm a place that causes another accident a second Shift R will probably be allowed.
And finally - apologies to myself for overbraking in the Loop on lap 1 & spinning out (I think Ed did the exact same thing). Could have been a more interesting race apart from that.
Nevertheless, had some good racing with various drivers at different times. Did the last 6 laps sat on Rainiers tail (a lap down) - avoided the temptation to use the tow -it would be really bad form to crash into a team mate who was 1 lap ahead.

I also wanted to add that there was a problem with several of the cars disappeared, appeared when the loop starts just behind, it is not easy.

You can get away with it in your own series ;)

Just one of those things. I was surprised to get a cockpit full of Bill but it was only a matter of time. I wasn't much slower but I was vulnerable. Made it a lonely race for me but I let the leaders past and found I could keep up with Dave Rainier. We cruised up to Nigel, Billy and Paul? but just as we caught them (and they must have had some excitement because they were half a mile ahead) I clipped the kerb approaching the pits and span.

Had a little dice with my team mate Paul V (which was fun) but lost it at the big bend under yellows. Car was a bit twitchy on brakes and occasionally was uncontrollable - it was a pity, it was a nice squabble over last place...

Grats to Ra for the Lights victory!  Awesome stuff with a keyboard!

Great job by Al for P2 and to Hristo for recovering from an off to claim P3.

A lucky P4 for me.  Lucky to have finished at all, in fact, as my latency bar was going bananas mid-race.  I decided to pass Al to see if my connection would settle down.  Nope.  Scary moment just seconds later as Magic appeared as is by magic off my left front corner.  I spun in shock.  Recovered to run P5 til Magic had a mysterious off in the esses.

I see that I'm not assigned to score points for a team.  Would someone please correct this and make sure that, since February 3rd, all my scores should be assigned to Blue Moose.  Thanks.

Doni

Doni,

You keep resigning from Blue Moose. Not sure why. I have sent you another invitation. I think that maybe you have attempted to join another team for a series?

I'll have a word with Dave but in the meantime, join the team and welcome back.

Just about made it home from grandchildren duties in time to join the race. Decided to join via IP, just to see if it made any difference to my fortunes regarding discos.

My pace was a little off in quali, (I guess I was still in fatigue mode after being duffed up by 2 grandchildren for 48hrs!!) so I was about 12th(?) on the grid but had done my quali on race fuel as usual so not too bothered.

The start was Ok and one or two cars decided to throw themselves into the greenery on the early laps and I was able to make a pass or two...soon up to a heady 6th place and enjoying some good racing with Dean, Tom and one or two others. The slipstream element with F2's makes it very difficult to break away from a pack of cars and we swapped positions a few times.

I was chasing Tom hard and got bumped from behind entering the Loop, after a triple barrel roll with forward somersault I landed on the fence and from habit hit Esc to quit....forgetting that I could have re-set with a Shift-R.
Ah well, it probably saved me from suffering a gremlin disco later in the race  ::)

Grats to the finishers and the podium people. I think this season is going to be one where I just enjoy whatever racing I might get, results do not appear to be part of the script for me.  :-\

HI :)

A realy good fun race .. ;D...From 3rd on the grid , I take a perfect start and take the lead at turn one .. :D..with a mob of furious in my back........ :P
....Lap 1, at Big Ben H. over pass me inside but he spinn and go out of track just in front of me !! ....then a great battle with Raoni since the lap 15 where Raoni, ( maybe a little optimiste !? ) try to over pass me , but Raoni toutch me out at Big Ben after he put 2 wheels on the grass ...!!....I restart 4th.....few laps to close the gap, and I can retake the lead at lap 20, by a quite nice action....:).....then lap 20 to 27, great battle with H. and Raoni just behind us ..... unfortunatly and again in Big Ben ,H. over pass me inside ( again :), but he spinn a little and put me out !....I have no place to go !....
Lap 28....I restart again in 4 th position, but the gap is too big with 7 laps to go..... :'(

.....( in lap 34 of 35 , my wheel goes out of my deck and I go straight in the rail !!  ???    what a F...k !....I do shift-r and stop and go in this lap and finish 5....)

.....morality of this race : please gentleman driver , be shure to have a perfect driving when you over pass a guy , 'cause it's more fun to complete ..... :-*

It was a fun race, but could have been a better result. Lost the lead at the start, then attacked Tristan a few corners later but changed down to 2nd gear and that spun me around. Fortunately didn't hit anything, but unfortunately I was now down to last place, so it took quite some time to pass and close in on the leading 4. Doni was warping excessively, his car jumping everywhere, so it was really stressful to run close to him and simply impossible to go for a pass. That's why I just kept putting pressure on him and eventually he went off at the last corner.

We had a good battle with Tristan afterwards and it was impossible to escape from one another due to the slipstream effect. Each lap he would usually pass me on the run down towards the Loop, but then I'll get back the lead on the run towards the next right-hander and normally Tristan didn't try to go 2 wide there. On one of the laps he actually did attempt that and since I was already commited to the outside and being in front, his front right must have made contact with my left rear because he went off.

Then Raoni was coming very fast and when he was passing me into the Loop he left me almost no space, so I had to go off to avoid contact, but managed to continue almost immediately. After that I had to push very hard to pass Al and then catch up Raoni who was flying in the lead. It was working out fairly well but I had to take big risks to accomplish that. This led to another off at the Loop and this time the car sustained damage, so it was all over. Tristan was catching me very fast and I didn't think I would be able to hold 3rd place with a damaged car, but he had a spin on his own just when he was closing in, so I brought it home in 3rd.

Grats to Raoni for the win and Al for 2nd!

Despite spending most of my time at the tail of the pack I enjoyed some great racing in the company of Phil, Axl and Dean. Very close at times and very fair or so I thought? Some great footage on the replay guys.

However apologies to Sky and Axl for some contact early and late in the race respectively. Please let me know and or report it if either of you feel aggrieved.

Grats to Raoni, Al and Hristo and see you all at the next round.

Great fun - I was pleased to be able to hang onto the leading train here. Found myself in 3rd place after Hristo's early off, but under serious pressure from Doni who was racing very strongly (though also suffering from some lag). The slipstream kept the battle for the lead rather busy & after Raoni & Tris tripped over each other mid-race, I had a few laps leading on my own, though a recovering H, Tris & Raoni caught up & passed me again all too soon. With everyone running so close it still looked to be anyone's race & I was expecting a very exciting final few laps - I certainly enjoyed my grandstand seat as H & Raoni argued over the lead. Rather fortunate to inherit 2nd in the closing laps when H ran wide at the Loop. Congratulations to winner Raoni & H for managing to avoid The Haybale & recover to 3rd.

Congrats Raoni, Al, and Hristo

Fun race for me. I don't use pribluda anymore and I think for the first time I had Hristo showing behind me on my pitboard.   ;D
Lots of action in the first ten laps.    :fencing:     I went off at the 90 and after mowing the entire pit straight I joined behind a group and tried to latch on. For many laps I tried in vain to catch King Hiro and keep Phil at bay. Phil cut in to my advantage and I was determined to keep him out of the draft. Well, at least that sounds heroic.  hehe   Pretty pleased with the result considering the competition.   :)

Great consistency Natan    :thumbup1:

Nice lap Hristo

and Dean in the Coop

Peace

RJ

Hello,

GPA (Argentina league) make a F2 championship
It's unrealistic for us to participate ( race at 3am) but I proposed to them that we make a challenge South America vs Europe on 5 of the tracks.
Brands Hatch, Rouen, Reims, Monza and WG

races on 2 continents have the same number of laps (about 30 minutes)
to assign points to 2 teams will be made by the time  of 2 podiums ( 3 Europeans and 3 S.Americans ) : 9, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1

I put a server, the European races will be held on Monday at 21h (Paris)
no obligation to participate in 5 races, but it will always keep the same car.
For now, 3 French drivers are starters .

++

That night the South Americans  made their race at Brands Hatch 24 laps. (Intermediate mode)
The podium: Negrullo (Arg), Jonny'o (Bra) Ozpata (uru)

I will hold a same race next Monday at 21h (Paris)

we compare the time of the podium with one of these three drivers.
9, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1 with 1 bonus for the best driver regular
to determine which team wins the round of BH.
(I recall that there will be 4 other races: Rouen, Monza, WG and Zandvort)

for now 6 drivers are interrested:
(F): Max Lenclen Phil Girard, Tintin, Rainier Dave, me and Jens Kraft (G)

We are not obliged to participate in the 5 rounds ( but you must choose a single car for all races)

If after 4 rounds the two teams are tied 2-2, it would be nice to try to find a reasonable time to organize a final common Watkin Glen
