Going on holiday for a week so I'm going to miss this one :(

Oh dear!

EDIT:  My Capri and Mustang times are separated by 0.013 seconds after my first session.  Can't drive the Porsche and the Escort will probably be slightly slower.  Mustang effort was with default setup so might find a tad more there.

How come it's Donington season?  GTR2 running it as well and MARA race on Wednesday is on the 2011 circuit.  Very confusing for an old git like me!

Watched that last night, its mental, like some crazy scifi movie from the cockpit! Impressive stuff, they are like fighter pilots with so much to absorb at crazy speeds.  :o

On a side note, not seen any boss stang or Capri times posted so no idea how competitive I'm gonna be in the IROC   :-\

45s in the Capri for me, might possibly get into the 44s in qually. No idea about the other cars as I've not tried anything else. I guess the Escort times will vary quite a lot though as there is a big difference between the fastest RS and the slowest 8v TC..

dang thats quick  :( Id hoped the capris squiffy brakes might slow it down a tad, though be interesting to see how it is on its tyres towards the end. :-\

I seem to remember Ian has a strong opinion about wet races.  :D

For those that are interested:
I "believe" that Jarda registered ages ago, but there must have been something
missing, I have now linked his lobby name to his game name, and hopefully he will not be a guest anymore.

Me too, had 3 disco's in Qually (so no timed lap). Then had a good start gaining some places and had some nice intermarque battles when I had a last disco at the chicane in Lap 5. Hope I didn't take anyone with me...

See you next one!

Shoddy built in tracks ::)

Well I discoed out too at about 1/2 distance, but I'm not going to complain. I'd done zero practice, joined late & found myself in the Ford Crapi (again) as I had something of a set up from Charade. Was very midfield & on my own from lap 3 when I lost touch with MJ (which shows how slow I was going! :P).

Ah well, looking forward to Silverstone next week with hopefully a little practice under my belt :)

That's a shame Ian. Connections seem to have been a bit wobbly here lately, so maybe just bad luck  ???

Had a cracker of a race. Spent most of it staring at the back of frex's Capri until I managed to sneak past with a few laps to go. Having done the hard work I then lost it on the straight going up the hill to the final turn  :wetfish: which put me under pressure for the final lap. I then had a double downshift at Old Hairpin which spun me round and put me back in 4th  ::)

Anyway, excellent fun and congrats to Geoffers for the win, frex and Nik for the podies  8)

Replay and Results Posted
Had to guess at some of the cars/tyres

I would love to know why people from Eastern Europe can stay connected to our server that appears to be in cheltenham UK
and is only 6 hops from Central London, yet some brits can't.
I would blame the server, but it's usually the same people who disco. Nik had trouble staying connected
to even the prac server once, but seems more stable recently, it is a genuine mystery, but it concerns me.

The connection thing happended yesterday in pracci as well. Originally connect ok, pc crashes, after restart, lobby and other server works fine but can't connect to server to which i was connected at time of crash. Seems cwappy game related rather than server led?

Tough long race but enjoyable and tainted by frustration!

Thought I was on the pace with low 46's only to find about 6 guys were doing 45's  :'(

Qualied in top 10, had okay start but got squeezed onto the apex kerb at turn 1 by Clive's Capri. Then lost time behind Niks 911 which seemed very erratic for first lap and avoiding him allowed Robert to get past in his escort.
This proved to be the proverbial spanner in the works for my race as I couldn't get past him for the rest of the race and spent long spells behind Rob and Clive ahead. If I could have got passed into clean air I think I may have pulled away as I was losing a bit of time behind them. 3 times I took avoiding action to avoid rear ending Robs car under braking (twice taking to the escape lane at the chicane!) and lost several seconds each time, but always recatching them again after a few laps. :taz: but fair play to Rob/clive they stayed calm and quick to keep ahead.
Towards the end tyre wear seemed to affect several cars and soon 5th to 8th were all within 2 secs of each other which made for a great final 5 or 6 laps. Seniordans escort looked a real handful and I put him under a lot of pressure, eventually paying off as he lost it into craners. Would have liked another 5 laps to re attack rob again but race finished.
Finished 7th I think but had hoped for higher.

Congrats to top 3 who seemed way ahead of the rest of us.  :)

I noticed at the championship standings some of my points missing, have I been eliminated or smth?.

I had a quick look at the standings and can't see you in the results in previous races, apart from Mallory, where you were outside the points.

Had to guess at some of the cars/tyres

Hi Matt,

The 302 BOSS cars are actually divided in two groups, Gr3+2l and the 70s Gr2.
I've listed the 302's with their group with their tyres (took that from the showroom piccie, haven't checked in-game):

Gr3+2L:
#001 (69001) - Goodyear
#002 (69002) - Goodyear
#015 (69015) - Firestone
#016 (69016) - Firestone
#045 (69045) - Goodyear
#083 (69083) - Goodyear

70s Gr2:
#009 (70009) - Goodyear
#070 (70070) - Goodyear

Hope this helps.. and thanks for organising these cracking races  :thumbup1:

Wot CLive said Nik, The only other BHC event you ran in was Mallory where you were outside the points.
here are 5 P&G series on here. British Historic, Sports Cars, and GT run once every 4 weeks.
The Limited Choice and Enduro alternate over 8 weeks. Each series has it's own championship scores.

Fun race! Got to P2 early on with Geoffers ahead and Goldtop behind. Could hold the IROC pace in the first part of the race, even reducing the gap to Geoff here and there (although i suspect he had pace in reserve as any time i got really close he would open up the gap again). Began to struggle in the second half though, and GT was becoming more and more of a threat as the race went on.

Felt i was safe over most of the lap except for the final two corners, and had to go more and more defensive there - which felt a little unfair to be honest as GT was clearly quicker at this point.. Several close moments, but GT finally made it stick with 2 laps to go with a textbook dive down the inside. That should have been that, but as he says he then gifted me the place back, and it was also close with Nik at the line.

Congrats Geoff for the win, and thanks to GT for the (almost) race-long battle.

Could be, I was thinking more of others who seem to disco alarmingly often. Geoffers discos at times but stayed on tonight.

My discos usually happen in practice & qually, its something related to my internet connection, it always seems a bit flakey for the first 10-15 mins I'm online, after that it seems to settle down. Only race I've had a disco was the Porsche race at Imola although at the Sebring Enduro I had cars intermittently disappearing & quit when I thought I had frozen & caused Frex to crash, which wasn't the case as it turned out!

Anyway bad luck to all those who discoed or had trouble joining last night. :(

Was a bit surprised to win this, didn't think the IROC was as quick as the Capri or Escort but the results seem to show otherwise with 3 of the first 4 in IROCs. Got the lead at the start & had Dan's Escort hassling for the first lap, but he went off at Redgate on lap 2. This left me with a couple second lead over Frex which stayed about the same for about threequarters of the race. Only in the last few laps did the gap increase when I guess Frex's tyres went off. Looked like being a Kerby lockout of the podium with GT 3rd, shame you went off on the last lap GT  :(

Congrats to Frex & Nik in 2nd & 3rd.

No I was going as fast as I could without risking it, just found it difficult to be consistent. Still haven't got the setup quite right, car still won't turn very well on the brakes, soon as I was letting the brakes off it would turn great so it was a case of letting the brakes off at the right point to hit the apex. Most times I was running a bit wide & losing time.  ::)

Not so good race for me, actually, frustrating race.

I was off track in first corner (by my own will because I didn`t want to create mayhem) sent by GT and, after watching replay - no complains. GT was also sent wide (with contact) by another blue escort like mine.

A combination of unfortunate circumstances (my not so good start helped a lot) ended with drop from 3rd to 17th and a lot of work to do. By the end of first lap I was 13th catching guys in front, some of them I managed to pass but some of them let me pass (thanks Legzy) so I ended in 10th place when real frustration starts. Every time when I close the gap to Mark Jonzo, his car became frozen forcing me to avoid ghost car and, after third case, I gave up. It took me few laps to calm down and wait for last part of race because I suspect that guys in front have soft tires and i was on med`s so they will be in trouble. But it was too late and the gap was too big so my 8th place is simply result of other one disco and one mistake on finished tires in late stage of race.

Anyway, Donington is not one of my favorite tracks - nice to drive but hard to race on because you are depending on other mistakes or must play hard.

I`ll miss Silverstone but be back for Mexico.

I managed some demon last minute setup changes that added at least a second to my lap times in qually and race! ::)

Good job that others had problems or I would have been way down the order.

Grats to Geoffers and associated Kerbies.

We will have our revenge.

Fantastic pace fron Dan too!  Were you running nitro?

I experienced the same in the past. When the pc crashed, I was able to connect on the other servers in lobby, but not in the server in which I was before the crash. I'm not an expert, but every time this happened to me, I first restareted the router, than I always rejoined the server without any issue. Try this procedure the next time it will happen Ginsters ;)

I really miss racing with you chaps, but it's a busy period, and I still need to rebuy a steering wheel...

Take care :) Ciao!
