This track is billiard table smooth compared to the iRacing version.
Still fun, though.

I have TI-AIDA or TI-AIDA 2005

And can't spot any clues as to which one I want.

And can't see a server to make the choice for me.

Any help appreciated.

Track: TI-AIDA
Hmm, tricky one Clive. I think you & the other SBRC drivers should practice the TI-AIDA 2005 config

Only Porsche in my PnG install is 906. Anybody know where I can find 914?

The Porsche 914 is a default P&G3 car, so something must be amiss if you do not have it.

I usually leave the class selection set on "Power and Glory" so I can see all the cars (except for a few of the roadsters and Lotus 7s). Just make sure all the boxes have checks in them.
Or, you can find the 914 in the "Power and Glory 70s" class or "70s Group 4" class.

Found it.
I usually go to models, where all the cars are supposed to be shown. But when I checked classes a couple were not selected, and that's where 91 was hiding.
Thanks.

Sorry, forgot to install the track on the server  :hang:
According to my test sheets the track I used is TI-AIDA '05.

Seems to be cycling through the different versions.
I got 18 laps into a race simulation and it switched to the UKGTR '05 track.  ::)

Post by: phspok on June 23, 2013, 04:38:41 PM +0100
Odd. It sees them as different tracks, and I have only selected the '05 variant.
I have reset the server and just tried it, I joined cycled on to race, then did next track twice
and it always came back with '05. So no comprende  ???

I am away in Scotland this week so have limited chance to fix things.

must be a problem on your side.

If it is any help, I can put it into a shared folder on dropbox or google box for you to download.

Edit: try this link https://www.dropbox.com/s/rbr67pdpm8o7x40/SRou_GTR2_Okayama_2.0.0.1.exe

I downloaded the track yesterday and it works fine online. I'll remove the link after the race.

Edit again: removed the link to the exe file and put up a new one to a zip (see next page)

I had to click on bar on top of screen to allow pop-ups. Then the download started.

EDIT: sorry, just reread your problem. My post probably will not help then.   :-[

There are loads of lights along the grid & they each have a normal "one light red.... two lights red... etc etc till eventually green"

Most helpful as always :P, what times are you/others doing then?

Nope, I'll be returning to my usual slot at the back of the grid through minimal practice time. But from experience (in multiple SIM's) this track is prone to more than it's fair share of "rubbing" at a few of the corners, namely T1, the hairpin at the top of the hill lot of the corners right round the track. Never quite understood why :-\

Only managed to try the Ferrari for a few laps last night, best time was 1.42.9 in race trim. Qually should be a bit quicker with the super-soft white spot tyres.

43s in the 914 after a quick test yestreday; won't be trying anything else.

Just hope the engine lasts as it is easy to mistime a downshift at the end of the back-straight and roast it..

I would be surprised if any of the cars can't do 22 laps without a fuel stop.
If someone knows for sure e.g XD or real testing
then I will reduce the number of laps if it's a popular car.

hi phsok,

i did test pantera boss and i had 5.65-5.7 litres with 120l tank.
so it is 124 litres for me.
1 lap less would be good.

i did not test other cars, no time, did only see that race is short time ago.

...tyre wear is extrem much too in this car, i did 10 lap stint and i had already 13.xx tyre wear in front and rear.

...would be good if racelaps would be reduced by 1 lap, thanks

Had a clean start but then things got crowded when John came through on the long straight. Unfortunately, I nudged him off track two corners later - sorry John! I waited, but when I got going I was hit from behind and quit. Hope you all had a good race.

I may bow out for some time until I find the time to concentrate before the race.

No worries. I got disconnected a few laps later anyway, so no harm done.

Edit - Just noticed that's my fourth no-score in this series, so that's the title out of reach. Will try and win for the team from now on :)

Now that was a bad luck! Disco while having second place in pocket with GT in range ... in that (17th) my last lap, gap dropped from 3,5 to 2,8 (is that false hope or GT run into tire problem)

Hate that  :taz:

i did had a disconnection too, i was in 2nd place after the former 2nd place driver animal ed? had a dico too.
2 or 3 laps before race did finished get a discois very much bad.

in start i did overtake goldtop and was in lead, but he did overtake in outside of next corner already, and he was able to make big gap before long straight comes so that i can not overtake him again,
then i had animal ed behind me for any laps, but he did overtake me too in a corner outside (damn, this little cars are fast in corners) and i was 3rd, i did loose a little time each lap, but not much.
car was great fun as then the tyres did start to loose grip and laptimes drop, but still did push good, if i did loose connection short before race was over, i was only 9.5 sec. behind leader goldtop.

i did push the pantera boss hard and had lots of fun, i did no mistakes but pos. 1 and pos. 2 driver was faster, nothing i could do against this.

hope i can make more png3 races in future, but not sure.

Good to see some new faces on the PnG grid tonight.

Was worried about the top speed of the tanks and when Mr. Berger out dragged me into T1 I thought I was in for one of those nights again. Fortunately I was able to use the mid corner speed of the pork to drive around the outside in T2 which surprised me as much as it must have surprised Mr. Berger.....can't imagine that happening too often  :)

From then on it was a case of managing the gap and keeping concentration with Ed close enough to take advantage if I made a mistake. I had some trouble with wear on my front left Ed, so had to be very careful for a couple of laps, but then unfortunately you discoed and soon after that Mr. Berger which left me with an easy win.

Must say I'm a bit worried about the disco fairy. It seems more than coincidence that we suffer in both PnG and in GTL. Server problem?

I'm not going to mention the first couple of laps.

I will however mention the really top draw driving of MJ for a whole 18-19 laps. Inches apart, it was like we had an invisible forcefield keeping a thin buffer of air between us no matter if he was all over my tail, pulling alongside or even eeking out ahead... till the next straight ;D

The longer the race went, the harder it was to keep him back as I could see he was trying all different lines & speeds through each corner trying to make a pass stick. I might even :whistling: have resorted to slowing through quite a few corners so he wasn't getting a run on me as we came out of them  & forcing the inside line on that triple right hander at the end of the lap saved me numerous times :sweatdrop:

But alas, on the final lap I fudged turn 2 & he was through, but no panic as I'll just get him going up the hill :winkiss:... but not if I accidentally catch a double gear shift :'( :'( :'(

Well done MJ, excellent patient & persistent driving display mate, exactly the driving standard/approach that this league has & always should aim for :euro:

Makes you wonder, doesn't it. I've been 'visited' by the fairy a few times on a Thursday recently, but haven't had a disco for as long as I can remember on Wednesdays & Sundays at Nogrip (which uses the Gamers Crib server).

Personally, I think it's a dastardly Kerb Crawlers plan to win the championship...

I managed to avoid most of the carnage on the first lap, although I was hit in the side by a Pantera. However, that didn't seem to affect the car, so I settled down to concentrate on keeping pace with Alessandro's Porsche. I was in P5 at the time, and I stayed in that position for a large percentage of the race. Then Alessandro suffered a disco on the long back straight, and I was up to P4. Then Animal Ed and Berger also suffered successive disconnections, and suddenly I was in P2 (although a long way behind Goldtop). My tyres were starting to wear down towards the end of the race, but I was very pleased to be able to keep Clive and one or two others around four seconds behind me, even in the latter stages of the race.

So, P2 is a great result, although this was partly because of the misfortunes of others. Still, I have had my fair share of disconnections in the past when in good position during races, so I will gladly take the points for the WSL Racing Team!

On a side note, why are the Corvettes of John and I shown as 70s Group 4 when they are actually Group 3 +2L? Only the Owens Corning 1971 cars are 70s Group 4.

Seems Editable?

Results and Replay Posted

One of my fave tracks this, and I'm stuck up in Glasgow....

I am becoming really concerned about the discoes. Some people never disco. I have not discoed from one
of our races for years, with connections in two locations, one BT Infinity with a 1 gig LAN, and one very poor Sky "broadband"
ove a mains ethernet. Wherever I am only time I disco is when someone joins practice (and you can count one one hand
how many times a year that happens.)

I created a test server at my home over infinity as a back up server, people have connected to it in the past and stayed
connected when they were unable to stay connected to our real server which was a worry. I am not confident that it
could handle 20 or more racers reliably, but it will struggle to be worse than what has been happening recently.

I am happy to pay lots of money for a good service, but I seriously doubting that it is a good service.
This forum seems to be run by the same outfit now, and I often can't connect to this as well.

Can't remember having any discos at NG PnG/GTL races (for me anyway) but I do suffer more than my fare share here.

Congrats to the podium, and commiserations to those that had problems. For me though that was an excellent race - spent pretty much all of it bottled up behind Clive's Pantera.. ..and enjoyed every minute!

Every lap was the same - I'd wave goodbye as Clive disappeared down the straights, only to catch back up and be held to his pace through the twisty bits. Got my nose ahead on more than one occasion, but never enough to make it stick. When Geoffers caught us I was happy to let him by to see if he could have a go at Clive instead, but after he had a slight off it was down to me again to take up the challenge.

Clive was just too consistent though and his defensive driving was impeccable - until the very last lap when he had a half-spin and a chink in the armour appeared.. Except this was at the end of the back-straight when Clive had pulled out his usual gap on me and I was not quite close enough to take advantage. Didn't stop me having a go at the next corner though but Clive parked himself on the apex and I lost momentum. Which in turn allowed Geoffers to close right up again and pinch P4 from me by 0.03 sec at the line. In fact I think 4 of us were covered by about a second at the end..

Great stuff.

Big fun last night with a nice grid, it has been lot of time since my last race with you.
I was 7Th on the grid, but I lost some places at start. Soon after I gained some spots cause other misfortune. Speaking of, I think isn't healthy wait for someone on the line at first lap with all the pack coming in a twisty section. The less that can occur is to be rear ended, I missed a car for a hair, but others couldn't.  ;)
Then I had a long battle with Jarda Porsche. I could stretch my leg on the straights, but he was all over me in the twisty bits until I had an half spin at four lap to go when I had Geoffer on my back recovering after his spin some laps before.
Next time, I hope.
Ciao

well first off, thanks for the kind words Legzy, it was a pleasure doing battle with someone you know you can trust will not try and have you off at any opportunity, and although some of your blocking lines were 'questionable'  ;) on the whole it was blinking great stuff, offence v defence! Really enjoyed it  8)  I had to get out the throttle quite a few times to avoid contact! but was grinning like a determined maniac  ;D

Didnt have a great qually, but still got it in top 10, always my objective. Race start i got jumped by about 5 cars! as usual...i really need to practise more starts offline! But kept out of trouble and avoiding the spinners until lap 2 when i got turned around a full 360 degrees for the 2nd race running  ::) and saw a whole half grid steaming at me and splitting around me like the red arrows. Alas TT had nowhere to go and ripped off my front valance and headlights  :( Not watched the replay yet but i think a certain Italian driver may have to get a penalty warning this time as several other cars were hit by the same car i believe. :detective: and i saw a lot of contact first few laps for the 2nd race in a row. Calm down all...remember its 40minutes long!
The incident dropped me to 15th or so and a long way off the top 10 gap wise so that was my race points spoilt but carried on regardless in a forlorn chase. I had a good battle with Syd for a few laps (though my panel work guys were not so happy with the rabbit punches sustained to the rear and sides!) and then when i finally cleared him, set off on a chase of Legzys Fezza.
This then turned into an epic 12-15 lap ding dong battle of power v agility as mentioned in the first line. The ferrari looked great and it left me everytime down the straights but i'd close under braking and harass him in the apex's, but he didnt make any noticeable errors and fought tough but fair  :thumbup1:  Then with a lap to go he made his one mistake in turn 2-3 and i pounced up the inside and was through  :)  I immediately expected a counter attack with the fezzas power so it was my turn to drive defensive but it never came and Legzy sportingly followed me home.
Think i finished 8th after that but it felt like top 3 for the effort!  :)

Big congrats to GT on his triumphant return, great pace in the 914 and well done podium  8)

Wish I could drive a Porsche.  ;-(

Or wish that Matt would just put them in a race of their own.

It was the obvious choice but in my pre-race warm up I just couldn’t break into the 43s.

At the start I gained a few as they were slow off the line and then half way around the lap there was a spinner in the middle of the track.  I went to the inside and was just regaining my line when a humongus blue job cut across in front of me.  Guess that was Mogget, from his previous comment.  I thought that it was John and backed off, which established Mogget’s initial lead over me which I couldn’t do much about due to the constant attentions of frex and Geoffers.

Was good fun though.  Having said to frex that I thought I had been too generous in our encounter at Knockhill I was determined to keep the curb crawler behind me.  LOL  Then I had Geoffers bottled up as well!   :jumpjoy:

The critical factor was that the Pantera had enough grunt from a clean corner exit for me to see in my mirror that the following car was not alongside.  So the next corner was mine!

Think that I lost about a stone during the race and as frex has said, it all got a bit close on the last lap.  My fronts were locking up and I went wide at a couple of corners prior to the last lap episode but never with anyone close enough to cause a problem.
Geoffer’s Ferrari didn’t corner much better than the Pantera and was of similar pace in a straight line.  Many thanks to both for a good clean fight.

Grats to Tudor and a hearty well done to Mogget on a great Tank Drive.

Next week looks like a frex benefit as Matt has lobbed the Renault in the mix.  Another car that I can’t drive.

Without John’s disconnection we could have held the guttersnipes to a draw.   ::)

EDIT:  One of each of the four cars in the first four home must rate a success in someone's book.

Next week is Healeys isn't it? I'm no good in those.

Week after has the Alpine, but also Capris, Escorts and 911 so i'll be spoilt for choice there..  :tt1:

i bought a new PC 6 months ago, and i don't know why, but abruptly, in game, the monitor became grey  during the 12 lap.
i was doing a good race, but a problem comes again.
hope for more lucky next and last track of the challenge!

Nothing much to add that hasn't already been said by Clive, Frex & Fulvio. Had some great dicing after going off on the first lap when I lost it on the brakes at the end of the long straight & having to fight back through the field. Must learn to be a bit more careful on the brakes on the first lap, did the same at Keimola!  ::) On the other hand it does make for a really good race trying to work through the field.

Congrats to GT, Mogg & Clive (brilliant drive under immense pressure).

Bad luck to all who discoed.  :(
