UKGPL Season 25 - Pro Trophy - Race 2 - Monaco

Monaco, it’s a Papyrus original and well known if not well liked by some drivers...

As the senior division with the best drivers, drivers have a free chassis choice.
Once a chassis is selected, a driver should stay in that chassis for ALL races.
There will be no other handicapping for this series.

There will be full moderation of lap one Red Zone and reported incidents for the rest of the race.
Please submit incident reports within a week after the race so that the moderators report may be out before the next race.
Full time drivers have priority access to the server until 21.00 UK time.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

What like me of this division is the fact that the race are not too long ;D.14 laps at Moltecarlo are the right number.

This division is really to hard for me.Seem to race against aliens.Comparing my best lap with one good Axel's lap ,i'm surprised to see that the main difference is not the speed in curve but the top speed before and after St devote.Seem the problem of the Ferrari 2013, the traction exiting from a curve. The top speed after the tunnel is ok.

Well at least you finished Francesco. My (team)mate Clutch had trouble logging on to UKGPL on & cannot see the race details . In the end I texted him the password so he had very little qually time.  Cookie was faster off the line (everyone is :)) & Clutch passed me when I went wide after Portier which I didn't mind but then Francesco followed him through at the same time!!! ::)Then I detached the front wheel at the harbour chicane. Once again failed to complete a lap.

On behalf of Clutch has anyone any ideas why he can't see the race details?

I think I win the shortest race prize? Ronnie was quicker off the grid and snatched 2nd place into St Devote and although I was able to stick to his tail pipes I was expecting a long race just waiting for a chance to sneak through.
As a plan that was OK, but it all went wrong on the 2nd lap when I got too excited with the gear shift exiting Portier and ripped it off the desk!!! :scared: In the resulting confusion I clipped the wall and lost a wheel. A quick review of the situation and it was decided that I would probably not survive another 28 laps on 3 wheels......so I retired. ::)

Grats to the podium and finishers and I hope my mechanical modifications at Portier did not cause any problems for anyone.

Fran . At Monaco there is no long straight, so your gear ratios need to be very exact. You want the max acceleration out of the hairpins BUT very little wheelspin and you need to be able to get on the power as early as possible out of the slow corners. It is your exit speed from the last corner that will determine the top speed that you can achieve along the S/F straight. I find that it is easy to go into St Devote too fast and fight the car losing speed all the time, but if you slow a little earlier and really pick your apex ( to just miss the kerb on the inside as you go up the hill) you can get on the power early and really nail the gas up the slope. The Ferrari certainly has enough power to be quick and I find that it delivers that power very smoothly, which should make it ideal around a twisty track like Monaco?

It just might be that he has ticked/unticked one of the boxes below the server list that decides which servers are shown ?

or

he does not have ( or IGOR does not think that he has) the correct mod installed?

About all I can suggest I'm afraid as I am not an expert on these things.

Thank you for the suggestion.I try to apply this in the next race with the 66.

Grats to Tristan and Dean ; commiserations to Clive.

After the previous F2 race at Monaco I knew that a good start would be required to ensure I was in the mix again for the Pro race. I got the start I wanted and snatched second. Lucky for me but unlucky for Clive he had problems early on so I settled down and slowly built up my speed to try and catch Tristan. I got him back in sight and was closing towards the end but a combination of Tristan simply upping his game again, me trying too hard and traffic just when I did not need it..... and the laps had run out and the race was over.

I cannot believe we are heading back again in the 66's for more punishment....see you there!
