(4) Some tracks in P&G have no 'Pit Speed Limiter' function. If so, you may go as fast as you like in the pits, but please exercise caution. Penalties will be handed out for causing contact in the pit lane. Use your best judgement when making your pitstop during the race.

May I suggest that under Notes: the link in (3) You will need to install Power and Glory v3 from: is changed to http://www.gtlw.co.uk/ (http://www.gtlw.co.uk/) So that all the necessary things for the mod are found ;)

Umm I can't remember which was fastest for me, but I don't think there was a lot between them
I think I managed to keep the porch on the grey stuff easiest.

Given the recent discussions about track limits am I right in assuming that the concrete at the exit of turn 2 is there to be used? I would certainly be in favour of allowing it as a legitimate part of the track but will of course abide by the rules whatever they are.

Well it looked like tarmac to me so on the basis that "I don't care what colour it is if it's tarmac it's part of the track" ruling, or something similar, I have assumed that it's ok to use it with all four wheels.

EDIT:  Hmmm......   Just had a closer look and it may be a bit concrete-ish.  A ruling would be appreciated.

It is allowed, like Tony said. I "think" that at some versions of the track, not sure about this one, if you don't get back over the line
quickly you get a cut track.

I don't get a warning at turn 2 though there is one at turn 4 (Esses). It doesn't make much sense though as it is only trigged if you are well on your way to a place where you do not want to be anyway.

Talking times, I get the Pantera on top, F275 half a second behind, then the Porsche and the Elan another second down.

We have found the Ferrari, Pantera and Porsche to be all very close, with the Ferrari on top and the Pantera just 0.1 behind.  The Porsche being just 0.3 down on the Ferrari.

The Lotus is about a second down on the Ferrari.

My testing has all within a second, The Panty 1 tenth fastest from the 914, the Elan was 0.7 behind it, but a more consistent drive.
The Ferri was in the middle

See! it happens every time  ::)
I create an event with a level field for the Front Porches and MJ doesn't come out to play
Happened before. The reason he thinks that the Porks are always disadvantaged is because
he missed the events where they walked all over the others  ;D

I'll probably be around for this race. Can't miss the opportunity to drive my favourite PnG vehicle (275 S). As long as the day goes well at work with our visit from Jaguar I'll be there.

Have fun.

Apologies to Postal. Think we made contact a couple of times early on. First time I got pushed into you by A N Other at the tight right after the bridge, I did back off to let you and half the field past. 2nd time was my fault entirely going into T1.

I don't think I'm cut out for on-line racing. I try to keep as safe as possible and usually end up going backwards early on because I'm so cautious but I just can't seem to mix it without getting into trouble. To be honest I'm sure the main problem is (and I'll pause while you all laugh heartily..........) that I currently use a pad to race. My wheel is bust and it'll be a while before a new one arrives on the scene. Because of that I just don't have the "control" to mix it, particularly with aggressive opponents who don't know that I'm going to be braking very differently, steering differently and accelerating differently. Think I'll give the on-line stuff a miss till after the new year when, hopefully, I'll be using better gear.

Anyways, sorry again Postal... see you all later.

Ok. second race in a row I have disco 2 laps to go.
Actually not disco because there is no "lost connection" message - everybody just disappeared ... what is going on?  ???

Just checked my firewall and nothing to do with it or my connection...

A rather average race for me. Apologies to Animal Ed for hitting him after going too hot into the final chicane. I waited and let Ed through, together with Frex and Clive. There were a couple of laps of good racing, I made it past Clive and Frex (possibly a bit robustly, but, I hope, still ok), before losing it at T2 and ending up back in 10th - my usual spot. I then tried to catch up with Frex but I only managed to close about half the gap by the end of the race. I made up one place when Ed stopped but, once again, I really should have done better ...

Sorry again, Ed, for the hit at the chicane.

I could still see you on the S/F straight, you stopped before T1 and seemed stationary for a while

Yeah, had a great start and was anticipating some good scraps. Felt bad being bumped off three times, but as you where saying Johnny. I believe people waited after an accident.
After that it was my turn at a mistake; eager to get back on pace i was passed earlier by Alex and Legzy. Going into T1 with the Fezza's dodgy brakes and still coldish tires it was going to be hard outbraking a Lotus.. Especially when Legzy was already truing to negotiate the turn in front of us. Misjudged that one a bit there, so my apologies to Legzy.

Johnny, dont give up so soon. Maybe it is a good idea buying some second hand Logitec wheel of some sort. However i believe having more online practice, you get used to other drivers around and how everybody reacts on track.

That indicates connection problem.

Now I`m officially confused because it must be on my side otherwise others would have the same problem.

Results and Replay Posted

Enjoyed that, had a good tussle with Dan nearly all race, with Bob snapping at my heels  8)

You had frozen on the straight Ed. THis means the server stopped getting position data from you. Or, it stopped sending your
data out to everyone else. Somewhere between our server and you something is dropping packets big style at some point
COuld be anything on the network or the server itself, if it keeps happening to only you, we have to suspect some router
in the network in your route first. If the server was at fault you would expect random, and lots of people to get dropped.
We did some experiment with my home server, and for some people it was better, as if the route was more kind to them.
it is less dependable than the main server though, so I don;t use it unless this one is broken.
If you give me your IP i will do some testing from the server to you and some other IPs

Sorry to hear about your hardware problems.
I am also looking to replace my aging kit. If you like to share your new configuration, it is appreciated.
Still confused about what to buy best so I can easily run PnG (and a bit of FSX).

Yup, it takes a bit but then there are always drivers around you can have battles with.
Just like in real racing you have to give eachother some room and once in a while it goes wrong (refer above), as long it is not intentional.

Any wheel that you can lay your hands on will be a vast improvement on what you are doing now, but I guess that you know that already if you have a broken one.

What wheel is it and what exactly is broken?

Also, where are you located?

Don't give up.   :nono:

Looks like something may be getting congested after Vienna, but it's ok through Italy

Alex, Clive, Mog et al...

I hear ya and I understand what you are all saying. Went through similar problems when I first joined WSL as Mog will testify. I'm acutely aware of spoiling the race for anyone, particularly so early on in the race.

I didn't get any practice for last night's event so I was feeling pretty good with my practice race pace and, quite frankly, bloody brilliant about my quali effort. I even moved up a couple of places off the line. The Fezza felt good early on  and then the world fell out of my (not so soggy) bottom near the end of Lap 1 when A N Other tried a daft move (practically on the grass) and bumped me into Postal and that was it, all confidence gone, feeling like the bad guy and losing loads of places whilst I waited and from then on everything goes downhill.

I'll persevere I guess.

@Alex: Can't agree more. As you say, as in real racing you need to give people some room but surely that applies to everyone and I was given no room, in a proper tight spot in the first incident.

@Clive: The bust wheel is a Thrustmaster F1, it's actually the pedals that are knackered but it's a rubbish affair anyway. To be honest I'd rather wait until I get the cash together to invest in a new setup rather than going down the 2nd hand route. I know I'll never be as quick with the pad BUT I consider myself pretty quick relatively and it's served me well over the years. (I'm so tuned in to the 275 S with it, 100's of laps at Solitude) I really do appreciate the sentiment and suggestions though :thumbup1:

@Mog: You know me better than anyone else here and I think you know that once I get over the initial despondency I'll be ok  :D See you Tuesday squire @ Laguna

It's 5:00 am in deepest darkest Lancashire now and I got to get ready for another day at the hands of Jag and ZF.

Good grief, didn't know Lancashire had a 5:00 in the morning as well!

I'm near Southport/Preston so I might be able to find someone to lend you a wheel, if you are not too far off towards Mogget Country.

My pc has finally decided to call it a day  :( Looks like I'm out for the foreseeable future until I decide exactly what I'm going to replace it with.

Sorry to hear about your hardware problems.
I am also looking to replace my aging kit. If you like to share your new configuration, it is appreciated.
Still confused about what to buy best so I can easily run PnG (and a bit of FSX).
Thanks.

I'm also confused about what to buy :-\  PnG, GTL and Assetto Corsa are my requirements. I might start a thread and see what knowledge we can glean.

Looks like another great turnout last night, so even more narked that I missed it :(

:)  Had a good race last night, by my standards, only spoiled by me getting the gear ratios totally wrong. Other 914's left me for dead on the long straight although it was fine in the corners. One big plus for me was my fastest lap in the race, well faster than qualifying. Totally enjoyable despite finishing position. Thanks to all, Bob.

Oh dear... I hail from the home of the current Championship leaders, so I guess that makes me a Dingle

Very kind offer Clive and much appreciated. My best mate has a G27 which he passes on to me occasionally so I'll use that when I have it and the current financial forecast seems to predict that I should be able to purchase one myself once I've got Xmas out the way. At the end of the day, despite my many years on this rock, I've still got to learn to hide my disappointment and not let it get to me so much. I'll be around for the next Thursday event with a different mind-set and a revised strategy (I'll just start from the back and follow everyone else around... lol).

Cheers.

Johnny X !!!!!!!!!!!!!
They already told you not to quit (and i`m telling you that) because you`ll miss so much if you do that. Here we have friendly atmosphere and competitiveness in same time where everybody finds his own opponent in race and have a good time fighting each other fair and square ... sometimes sh** happen but main thing is not by intention!

btw just watched replay and i don`t see any misbehavior in your driving ... only unfortunate circumstances that could happen to any of us for example I also squeezed johnw because i don`t have triple screen or whatever - wasn`t aware that he was there so no intention and, luckily, no big damage

@ Niels - no need for apology because half of guilt is on my side - saw you in my mirror but forgot that you are in a lighter car with better tires an i pull, what i call, stupid move by closing the door when it`s too late.
