Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

The cars from L14WCM affected by the Modern Tyre fix are currently available on the server if you wish to test them after you apply the fix. They will not be available for this race tho  ::)  ;)

Graphics are a tough one as each individual hardware setup is different. I don't experience any of the above and all my GTL settings are at the max. Perhaps you could try running the Graphics config and changing a setting or two? Or play around with the in game graphics settings?

My Graphics Config has the Refresh Rate at 60Hz, Shader Level at Auto, Full Screen Anti-aliasing ticked and set to Level 3, and Vertical Sync ticked.

Hi Tony, me again needing a point of clarification.  Just found that you have only 3 cars from the Anglia car pack on the Server.  However on checking up I found that the pack contains cars of different performance, some with 5 spd and others with 4spd boxes.  The 3 cars on the server are the higher power cars with 4 spd boxes - only found out because I had practiced offline with a lower powered 5 spd box car which was not on server, bought new car gearing all to cock  ??? ::) so went offline and investigated.

So is the choice of the 3 cars on the server deliberate selected by a more knowledgeable expert?   ;D

Just checked and there are ten Ford Anglia's on the server but your right, only three are showing in the lobby. I'll have to investigate further.

Thanks Tony the most cars of the same power appear to be 124 bhp versions.  Or let drivers pick which ever they prefer - free world.

Ok, think I've found and fixed the problem. The missing cars needed the Abarth to be available as a "donor" car. Set this up now and all seems fine. Please try again Bill and confirm it's ok at your end please.

Thanks Tony.  All the cars now appear to be there (not counted them).  That 166 bhp version drives beautifully - I think it could well be the car to beat in the Series. :thumbup1:

Edit:  Got down to 1:33s in half dozen laps with that Anglia with more to come.

I'm going to sit out this series. Mondays can be a bit hit/miss for me and I need to preserve brownie points for the sports cars and hopefully some of the other GTL series.

Have fun  :)

Well I for one certainly expect to be there..  :)

Tony, I've accepted a Team invite from Pelle B, to join TEAM-GTLDK. Not sure if there's anything in my profile or elsewhere I need to update.

Hope I can help Eifelblitz accumulate some points for the team in the future.  :)

Cheers,
Erling

Had a meeting tonight which was cancelled late on.

Jumped in the Daimler which was very driveable but a bit slow through the corners and then the Anglia which was VERY lively under braking. Didn't know the track or have time to sort a setup so I just went for it in the popular 450 Daimler.

Decent start with some close battling early on and then I span. Left me at the back with MC and we had a nice chase for a while when suddenly his car just stopped in front of me and I waited for the crash but no - drove 'through' the car. He then popped up in front of me on the way to the pits. Odd one. Bit like warp in GPL I guess.

Bill had a 12 second lead on me but I was feeling more comfortable with the braking points and knew the Daimler was much quicker in a straight line. Concentrated on lapping and forgot the gap and then there he was - 4 or 5 secs ahead, I concentrated hard and nailed a few laps and got on his tail. Passed him on the straight and then he passed me back with a cheeky nip up the inside. Daimler power saw me stretch away round the back and after that it was just a matter of lapping cleanly. Got a bit of a shock when a yellow Anglia appeared just behind - thought I had a 5 sec gap. Penny finally dropped and I let the leader through  ::)

Sorry if I held you up.

First finish. Pretty pleased. Had fun and that is what it is about after all. Not sure how many I can make as I often have meetings on a Monday but I will try and be there. Thanks to all for the racing and tx to Tony for organising.

One last thing - had quite a lot of stutter mid race - anyone else see low FPS?

And finally, is there a lap counter anywhere - I was totally lost at the end.

Replay and results now posted

Nice crowd tonight and some fast drivers too. Excellent Smithers.

@Paul - Both GTL and XD have lap counters. For GTL the "2" key should toggle through the HUD options

@Michel - You may need to read this https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=11928.msg214835#msg214835

Had a great race.  Surprised to be on pole, but as usual lost several places at the start.  After the first corner confusion, Matt was in the lead, with me 2nd and Eifel hot on my heels.  We had a great battle in the first part of the race.  Must say it was most annoying that whenever I managed to squeeze the nose past the Daimler in a corner, Matt would effortlessly power away as soon as the track straightened  :)

Eifel got past me when I fumbled too much in a couple of corners, and 2 laps later, he nailed Matt at the same place, only for both of them to run wide, so I could dive under and steal the lead, LOL  ;D

Managed to hang on to it and slowly build up a gap.  Later in the race, I came upon a black stripe with smoke hanging over it.  My heart sank when I saw my newfound team mate Eifel at the end of it, slowly limping back to the pits with bad damage  :(

Got a bit of a shock when a yellow Anglia appeared just behind - thought I had a 5 sec gap. Penny finally dropped and I let the leader through  ::)

Sorry if I held you up.

LOL, no not at all - thanks for letting me past.  I did wonder if you might think I was Bill and start racing me  :)

One last thing - had quite a lot of stutter mid race - anyone else see low FPS?

And finally, is there a lap counter anywhere - I was totally lost at the end.

I had some stutter too; mostly at the entry to the right-hander at the end of the start/finish straight.  The other places, it wasn't too bad

There's a lapcounter in the Motec display. If you cycle through the screens, it shows up (There's a button to do this, which can be reassigned of course)  Also, the XD addon I believe most are using will show it - although at least in my case, its display of the total # of laps is completely screwed up - showed 90 laps in this race!

Surprised and most pleased with the win.  Very considerate of all the aliens to be out of town...  ;D ;D

Thanks to Tony for organising it and again thanks to Bill for finally luring me back.  These first few races have been cracking good fun - can't believe I managed without GTL-fun for so long  :o

Cheers,
Erling

Was hoping to join you guys in this race, but all of these new toys ( PnG and GTL) alongside GPL make a poor boys head spin and I just forgot that it was last night!!  :-\

here's looking forward to the next race and some door handle banging in the tin tops. It's always nice to exchange paint samples between friends  ;D

Thanks Tony good race - pity a few more drivers who were confused with the details of GTL didn't turn up and sort out their problems last night. Nice recovery Badbood and steady application.  I was comfortable with the gap in double figures but started to take notice when you started working the gap down to 9 secs and I started doing calcs to the finish.  Then I had to get my head down ignore Xd and concentrate on trying to make each lap perfect (well for me anyway).  In soon became obvious I was doomed and as you posted the, V8 power was too much for my Anglia I did get a bit of entertainment nipping down the inside once and I think giving you a couple of nudges at the next corner but you were soon off into the distance.

When it was all settled I saw I'd set new PB and wasn't last on the road so I rate that as a successful night.

Nice to see you back Erling and delighted you're enjoying your GTL racing that's the main thing!!  Who else can I nag to come back to GTL?    Any other drivers who have moved on to newer formats fancy the odd drive on GTL - you to might enjoy it.  ::)

Hi  made a big mistake on first corner not looking nudged another car and went off into the grass left me in last place, after that managed to put in some good lap times and with other drivers making errors finished 2nd. Was going to drive the Daimler faster car but i just could not get the cornering right, for me both cars massive understeer then snap and lose control. Enjoyed the race and see you all next time.

Grats Erling on win.

I was dithering between the Anglebox or the Gentlemens club before I arrived online. Caught a comment that it was a Ford fest so chose the Club. Soon realised that my times were a bit off compared to Matt's so set about tweaking my setup some more to capture some better cornering power. Big mistake. Something I did upset the car and possibly made it worse. Not to worry I thought, it's early days and I'm bound to score big points in this beasty. Well possibly if everyone else drove as badly as me because I was soon passed after my great start by Kurt and later Roger. Then in my haste to not fall into Bill or Pauls clutches I drove too near my skill threshold and inevitably clouted that jagged wall/barrier at one of the right handers and that grabbed my car and chucked me over the parapet. Tried to drive on to find a track rejoin location but instead drove straight to Nirvana. Still enjoyed watching the rest of the race from the pits. And don't know how Matt achieved those times.
BTW it's worth noting that the Anglia comes in four different flavours e.g. engine power/weight and gearboxes do vary. Don't think we'll see many Jags/Daimlers at the next one  ;)

Thanks Roger.  It was my car you touched in that corner.  Didn't feel it at all in the race, and didn't notice you spin in the mirrors.  Only became aware of it when watching the replay. Hope I didn't inadvertently cause or contribute to the spin, except for being in the wrong place of course.  Well done to claim 2nd after being last.

Cheers,
Erling

Great race and great fights in the opening stages  ;D

Then some mistakes and offs. Fortunately I was able to repair
the car in the pits and could finish the race.

Great win Erling - nice to have a new teammate  :)

Enjoyed that one. Was surprised to qual 2nd with all the Dangleboxes, which for me were at least a second faster
than the "Gentlemans CLub"  I have used the Daimler before so I was aware of how it drops one % health
if you take it into the red, so managed that fairly well, but had forgotten how fast the tyres went off
and spun after a while, As said the 1st few laps were a hoot, with Me, Coyote and Kurt trading places
eventually they both got past, and I just concentrated on keeping going. What pace I had was mostly
about drifting the big lump into corners with braking, then a bit of power sliding out of the corners
sometimes I got it right, sometimes I grazed the fences  :o
