Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Nice race after being away for 3 weeks on holiday. Took a while to get the correct lines in the Beemer. Started to post some good laptimes after a lap or 10, so i was hoping to catch Geoffers in his non S Beemer. Think i took it to the (my) limit too much as i started to have some slides and mistakes with a near miss with the armco on the top of Raidillon on the last lap eekss..
Nice turn out too  :) See you all for the next one

Very uneventful race for me.

Did my first sub 2:48 in qualy, which put me 3rd on the grid.  Got a decent start, outdragging Postal, but he reclaimed the position as we entered Eau Rouge.  Evert hot on my tail on L1, until he fell off. Then Tibs closed the gap over the next lap, but after he had a moment at Eau Rouge, the gap to 4th kept growing. I of course couldn't hang with the Beemers, so they quickly disappeared.  Very lonely from then on - only excitement came from lapping Clive in a lightweight 911 (read: several body panels missing..  ;)), and Roger late in the race.

Very chuffed with 3rd place, as that was the best I could hope for, with a couple of Beemers present.

Grats to Geoffers & Postal, and commiserations to those that dropped out prematurely.

Cheers,
Erling

Had a spare Monday evening as it was tiddling with rain so I thought I would have an outing in the 2002 at Spa. Did a bit of pre-event practice with the TiiS but when I joined it seemed it would be much too fast for what everyone else was driving so changed to the non-S version. Even this was looking a bit quick until Postal joined with the S.

Had a poor start, the revs dropped too much when I let the clutch out, but the other front runners were also a bit slow away & I had a handy lead exiting Radillon. Postal was in 2nd & over the first few laps I was struggling to hold the gap at around 2s, but then gradually the gap crept up until it was around 6s with 3 or 4 laps to go. Postal must have then made a mistake as it shot up to 11s so I was able to take it easy over the last few laps, which was handy as the car was starting to understeer quite a lot in the fast corners.

Congrats to Postal & Erling.   See you all again soon hopefully.  :thumbup1:

Great fun last night as the Commodore was great to drive here particularly giving it the beans up the Kemmel straight. Great engine sounds combined with that clunky sounding gearshift bought a  ;D to me face every lap.
Lonely race tho as everyone chasing me either quit of span so with four laps to go I had an 50sec gap both in front and behind me so was pleased to get a 4th place as I'll be down on points after Monza.
Good turnout, thanks guys.

As I hinted at in chat after the race, my preparation for this race at Spa was non existant.

Maybe I am lucky in usually being able to "dial in" to a new track and setup within a few laps, but last night it just did not happen.

4 days of chugging around the waterways of England at 3 mph in a 70 foot narrow boat had relaxed my single brain cell and my puny muscles to the point where I was almost falling over.

No chance for any practice before the event so I turned up at Spa with about 15 minutes to go and no idea what car I might use. As I had 2 drives left in the porker it seemed wise to risk that option.

The race was a catalogue of mistakes on my part and each excursion into the barriers reduced the handling to the point of approximate directional corrections and wishing...

grats to the fast boys and all those who finished.

And yes I did curse when Erling swept past!!!!! :-\ :taz:

Not a very good evening, in qualifying I could not get a timed lap in.

Best bits were near the start chasing, I think Roger when I put in my fastest lap of the evening until I was chasing Clive.  As he posted he spent time off the track so after pulling over to let him pass a couple of times, I  tried racing him, slowing him down going into the sharper corners then booting it away.  After a couple of laps I overcooked it on one of the faster corners and he was through.  Chased him for a few laps setting a new PB with the RS1600 at Spa.  In the process I had a couple of bad offs, sorry Tony and Roger for being stopped in the middle of the track trying to crank up my engine.  The suspension was damaged by this time so I quit.

Forgot about this race with all that was going on over bank holiday, got on server with 5 mins to spare then found i had the 28 not the 3000. At start saw how race was going as got left behind, still had some good racing with Bill till he dropped back then it was a lonely one.

Fun with the Opel here, but the car surprises always with  a tricky handling
when braking for corners.
So I had some early offs but then could stabilize my performance and finish
at a satisfying fifth place after a mostly lonesome ride.
