Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Weaker spec PC's may suffer at this event. Suggest you turn down graphic settings (try setting shadows to lowest setting) and test before race night.

Can drivers test this track on their systems please? I'm concerned that it may put too heavy a load on ahem lower spec/older PC's.

No probs for me Tony.  I have 2009 Base PC with AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor running at 3.4 gHz and Nvidia GTX 665Ti  Graphics Card.  I'm running at 1860 x 1280 with most of the GTL Graphic settings at high, distance is Far and shadows medium -  so I get good resolution with 24in wide screen monitor,

With 911 S the frame rate is between 160 and 120 frames/sec, spending most of the lap between 150 and 135.  Hope this helps.  ;D

Done Tony.  On grid at back with 10 cars in front of me 85 frames/sec, monetary at lights green dips to 70 but as soon as we started moving up to mid-80s with most of track in the 100 to 85 bracket and  peak of 115.

So it looks like should be OK with Intel dual core processor and a modern graphics card.  Perhaps someone  with that kind of spec could see what  they get.  ;D

Just through with my testing Tony.

PC originally built in 2010, but videocard upgraded recently. Intel Core i7 930, running at 3.25 GHz, video card Radeon R9 280X.

Game settings: Resolution 2560 x 1440, shadows low, no trackside characters, all other settings maxed out. Anti-Aliasing Level 3 (GTL), Anisotropic filtering 16x (3D settings outside GTL).  Video card settings generally set for quality rather than outright performance.

Practiced alone to learn track (steep learning curve!).  Start time 18:00.  Got 170 - 200 fps.  After I had practiced a while, the artificial light of the track suddenly came on. Framerate took a hit, dropping to 150 - 170 fps.

Did two AI-races.  With start at 18:00, I got 80 - 120 fps. Start at 19:00, with artificial light on, it dropped to 30 fps at the start, was typically 50 - 70 fps on the first lap, but climbed above 100 fps as the field spread out.

Don't know if the light will come on during the race, but it's definitely a factor to be taken into account.  If it does, people should test with start time 19:00 instead of 18:00, as my results suggest a massive hit on the framerate with cars on the track (all had their lights on too).

AI is a bunch of wusses on this track btw - I beat both Lola T70s and 917s with a friggin' Escort..  ;D (and yep, they're ARE set to the toughest level)

Cheers,
Erling

Hi installed new graphic card 6850, tried latest drivers 14.4 but not working for GPL in opengl, so installed driver 12.3 works fine
with GPL and GTL   BUT Singapore
with Singapore track GTL at 18.00 10 ai settings high at start 57fps then 60/61fps
med at start 52fps then 58/59fps
19.00 10 ai settings high at start 49fps then 57/58fps
med at start 41fps then 54/55fps
strange medium settings slower, also have no catalyst control center to make adjustments just have a prog called AMD gaming evolved is this normal, any help or advice appreciated.

You should have Catalyst Control centre installed. Go to the AMD site and you can download it on it's own (or you used to be able to). AMD Gaming Evolved is carp and should be removed. You won't find it in Control Centre under the name AMD Gaming Evolved. It hides under another name. But sort your program list by date and it will be apparent which name it hides under. If you google "AMD google evolved" you will get a flavour of it's popularity. You do get a choice to not install it with your card driver but it's not made very clear.
Hope this helps

EDIT: In the Windows control panel program list, it goes under the name "Raptr".

EDIT: Tried to find a download for just the CCC but to no avail. It is included in your driver download package however. Maybe go to the AMD site and get the driver download package for your system/card and re-install, paying carefull attention to all messages received regarding choices about what is installed.

It probably means throwing away the Championship, but I'll unfortunately have to miss this.

Am going on an extended weekend Porsche drive to Schwarzwald and Alsace, so won't be back until Tuesday.  Almost cancelled my participation in the trip - that's how bad I wanted to win this..   (Finally got my priorities straight though)  8)

Cheers,
Erling

Bugger that it was the previous race the lobby decided to go AWOL; would have been most convenient if it had been the upcoming one instead..  ;D

You might be missing this race, but I am away for some hols for 2 weeks from 4th October, so I will miss at least 1 race myself.  So relax  ;D

Just downloaded this track and tried my first few laps ever around this modern track..................It felt a bit like a high speed Monaco, but with longer lap length.

Now I notice that the race will be run at dusk??!!!  :o     geeeez, it is hard enough to identify and recognise all of those corners in daylight, how the heck are we supposed to do it in the dark???

I reckon Erling had the right idea and has avoided racing this round of the championship. I'm not going to have much more chance of practice as I have a GPL race later this evening, so it looks like a few minutes of practice and qually on the server Monday evening  :-\

TBH I have almost got the track ( in daylight at least!) logged in the memory. All except for one corner which my mind keeps telling me is going to be a left hander, but when I get there some sneaky swine has made it a right hand turn. And they do it every lap!!! :-\

I am imagining that the quali times will be around the high 2:20's?? for this track which means I will have to get my a** in gear in practice this evening or watch the show from the back.  :ninja:

Dismal evening for me I'm afraid. Try as I might I could not get speed and handling out the Porsche. It understeered and felt really sluggish. Kept hitting concrete and losing either front spoiler or headlamps or both. Glad that ones behind me but am in awe as to the speed of you guys....WOW.

@ Postal - any chance I could get a sneeky peek at your setup?  :-*

Bit of a weird track this.. Did had my fun though i could not really turn the 911s into a proper racing car around here. Got a decent start but soon got swamped by the following Beemer of Tibo.  Took to the grass a couple of times. Then i had some nice battles with Eifelblitz in his Mini. He went onto the grass on the s/f straight, so i drove up the inside only to let the torque of the 911 spin me around into T1. Had a nice chase again and i guess his tires where cooked by the end and i got past again.

@Tony, sure enough. As soon as i get my gaming rig fired up i will send you my set. Must confess the 911 wasn't really working for me either around here...

Grats to all who finished around a track that would not take allow too many mistakes unpunished.

Quite a lonely race for me, and I mean that in the nicest way. Although I suspect that if Erling was around life might have been more stressful  ;D

I was not expecting to be on the pace for this race as this was a totally new track for me and I was seriously worried about it. In fact I realised that I was watching the F1 race on Sunday and trying to memorise the sequence of bends !!! How sad is that!!  ::)

I opted for the Beemer, only because it feels the most predictable car for me in this series, and set about really getting my braking points and lines right in pre race practice. Tibernius was also practising in the BMW and he looked about 2 secs a lap faster than my initial PB!!. As usual, I did qually on race fuel because around a track like this ( I equate it to a faster Monaco) I want the car that I qually in to behave exactly the same when I leave the grid in anger and not suddenly feel like a rudderless barge.

I pushed hard in the early laps to build a nice safety margin and then eased up, but it was enough for Tibs to start eating into the gap so he was not far off my pace and I had to keep the pace up to maintain the gap. Thanks to those who allowed me a clear pass when I lapped them as any misunderstanding around this sort of circuit could easily end in tears and tantrums  ;)

I still am not confident about the fuel readings in GTL ( is the figure in brackets actual consumption, or the target consumption??)and decided to short shift and cruise for the last 3 laps allowing the gap back to 2nd to close.

If anyone wants my setup for the BMW they are welcome to it. I ended the race with plenty of rubber left ( all tyres were still showing some green ) and thought about trying for a PB....but sanity kicked in and I opted for the points instead  ;D

Forgot to apologise to Roger for the tap on the first lap. Totally my fault as the Porsche couldn't brake as well as your commodore. Also sorry for getting in your way as you tried to recover. I should have driven on and let you pass me later.

A surprisingly good one for me.
Entered the track for the first time about 10 minutes before qualification started.
Easy to learn and the Mini - in the right hands  ::) - could have been a contender
for the victory.
Most time of the race I was able to stay in third position but Postal was a bit
more consistent and eventually was able to pass for good.
So I finished in fourth place.

CU next week.

Well, it seems my worst fear played out - I'm away and Clive wins..  :)  Of course, if you miss one of the later races, that will of course be a big help for me.   Doubt I could have kept you company if I had been there - I'm fresh out of Beemers, and in the only car I tried, an Escort, I was doing 2:37 times.

Glad I didn't miss our trip though, Championship in danger or not.  We dropped Schwarzwald and Alsace, and instead went to the Swiss and Northern Italian Alps. Been driving on some fantastic (and lunatic) roads, in breathtaking landscapes.  May post some pics in off-topic, once I get them sorted and re-sized.

Cheers,
Erling

Really enjoyed this race, but no racing for me 10 seconds down on the lap times and only time i saw a car was when i got lapped, but the Opel was a joy to drive and a night race, the Singapore track looked great with the lighting.
No prob lap 1 Tony part my fault.
Grats to Clive on win

and yes, I will certainly miss some races, in a couple of the series, during October, so I am relying on the rest of you guys to thwart Erling's plans for world domination!!!  ;)

Well, it's almost certainly my only shot at a - very select - World domination.  Next season you'll be too fast for me to compete, so have to nab as much as I can, while I can..  ;)

On a different, more serious, but positive note; I heard from Bill yesterday.  He's home from the hospital and improving, thankfully.  Bill, hope it's ok I post this; I'm sure the gents will appreciate it.
