Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this

Hello everybody

I'm Marcos, a GPL-racer from Mybroga (I was coequiper of Hristo Itchov some season there). I recently installed P&G 3.1 and am (still?) very slow with it, but I liked this mod, that I never drove before.

Is difficult for me to join some official race. I don't know if my ping (I live in Argentina) would be good enough to have some safe race with you. Also, as I said I'm slow compared with most of you... and I would have to organize my fridays in a different way.

But I would like to try your server in some unofficial practices, hoping to found somebody there. I found the password you use in the forum, but I prefer to ask for permission before entering there.

I downloaded the replay of your last race in Goodwood and liked it very much. You're really fast...

Except Tony's Christmas special our P&G races are always on a Thursday and practice starts at 19:20 Uk time.

As you said, ping from Argentina may be high, but if it is stable you might  be ok in our races without a problem.
Some of our current members warp at times, but if you are warping a lot, it would not be practical.

I tried to race today against the IA in Brands Hatch in a Lotus Elan, and discovered that either they are really fast, or I'm doing something really bad. I never imagined to be 10 seconds slower...

Just for curiosity. Are you using automatic or manual clutch? I proposed myself to use manual clutch, but I don't know if I'm losing time there. Also, is there some setup repository for P&G? I think the Elan's default setup for Brands Hatch is much improvable, but I didn't discover how. I just did some unsuccessful tweaks...

What you need to do Mr mcmirande is to send a couple of PMs to Legzy and MJ asking them to get off their lazy butts and help you with some setups; in return for which you will be invited to join their flagging teams.

Try some laps at Goodwood (last race) and compare them with the times in the results.
If you can match my laptimes then you are ok. I'm usually one of the slowest and they let my race here.
Just keep it on the black stuff and watch your mirrors.
btw. I'm using manual clutch with H-pattern gearbox.

BTW: Racing from South America shouldn't be a problem, if you have a decent connection.

I'll try to do some time to practice in Goodwood, as you said. The kind of cars and the feeling of the simulation is completely different than in GPL and I guess the main difference in times are of handling, rather than in setups.

I looked for the server and I don't see it. Is it down by now?

I have not created an event for December 26th. I assume most people will be "boxing"
or stuffed with the 2nd Christmas dinner  ::)

If enough people want an event, then I can create one, but it's unlikely I will be allowed
to compete, or even administer it.

If anyone wants to do the admin on the night I will create an event with whatever cars and track
you like.  ;D

Bah, no pracci and really suffered for it this evening. Gave up after my 2nd silly spin  :(

Grats to the podium, must have been some race between John and Otto. They were pretty close when they lapped me for sure. Grats to JW on his championship and "oh another one" to the SB's.

Apologies to Clive for the bump at Clark at the end of Lap 1... I'd been working on maximising my speed through there and was in a nice drift and couldn't do anything when I realised how quickly I was heading for your rear end. That put me in a slide which was helped on by Ivan and poor Syd Drake had nowhere to go and ended up air-born. Apologies to Sid as well. I'll submit a report and fully accept the blame and any penalty.

The Elan was huge fun to drive around Brands. Even using the gamepad it was just a glorious 4 wheel drifting machine. Hugely enjoyable.

Grats to the winners. Not a good race for me crashed first in Johnny who spun, then had contact with Donato, sorry if it was my fault, and crashed. Tried to make more laps but the car was broken and gave up. I have to practice more with the steering wheel on the right side :) Grats to our team and thanks everyone for the great races!

I had a good race even though I was the last finisher. Dan and I took turns to fall off and wait for each other  :thumbup1:
Actually it was more him waiting for me,. I "think" Geoffers ended up in the wall while trying not to ram me  :-[
Donato was closing fast and went for a pass in T2   :o, I was about to move over on the following straight, but we had a "misunderstanding"
Dan waited again, so no real damage done. It was Dan, Alex and myself until Dan and I started having mishaps.
No setup or much practice time for me so back of the field was expected, I don;t know how you guys get these Elans round
with such control, I struggle to keep one in the track, way more than most other cars.  ???

I was disappointed to miss the last race and at my local track  :'( but had the office xmas party to attend :sorcerer:

Thanks for all your efforts this year Matt, you did a grand job and put up with our complaining on occasion. They were a great set of championships with something for everyone to enjoy :thumbup1:

Well done championship winners and runners up. There are some quick guys on here now so its a great achievement  8)

Hughely enjoyed our race Matt and the waiting was just a minor interruption of going around with a big smile and the odd "Oops". My experience is that a short wait and  trying to get back to the status as before the spin usually provides good fun racing. But don't tell Clive who is more in favour of the  "it's for the points chaps so stop fooling around" approach and he's my team boss! ;D

I begin with an apology to Federico that I have not seen the first corner (you could win!).
Very difficult race because John was really fast until the last corner, maybe I made a setup too stiff compared to his, the fact is that at the end of the race I finished the rear tires.
See and to run on older tracks like Brands Hatch makes me rediscover the pleasure of driving, a lot of similarities to Imola.

That was fun ;D

Managed to go two-wide with Federico through Hawthorn & Westfield (great driving :thumbup1:) to get back to P2, then slowly caught up to Otto. Got alongside a couple of times in the last few laps, but couldn't get ahead. Our pace was very similar and Otto was getting every apex when he needed to so there was no way past. Good stuff :)

Whereabouts are you then Mark if Brands is your local track?
