Hi all, back from my hols in Cornwall, only to discover that I am supposed to drive a Healey. I visited the home family home of the founder of the Healey marque nr Helston about 5 days ago.

Sadly all there is there is a plaque on a wall and a model of an Austin Healey beneath it. The place is now the site of some very spectacular landscape gardens running down to a beach, nowhere to drive a car, even a Healey!!!

Got to d/load the car and track and get a few laps in I think....times need to be around 60 secs ??? hmmm.

Anyone else getting a prob with this combination??

The circuit seems to be OK for me and I can select other cars, but whenever I select the Healey 3000 GTL crashes even on other tracks that I have used before. I have deleted and downloaded the car file a couple of times, but still no joy??

Not had that problem, but I could only join with a limited range of the cars.
I don't think it was just the original AH3000 variant, not sure.

Weird. Did you install the cars by letting the installer do it's thing? It only adds 6 cars to your original Austin Healey folder called 460DR-R through to 465DR-R. Anymore info you tell us?

You may have to run a trace file. Right click on your GTL desktop icon then choose properties. Click the Shortcut tab. In the entry call Target replace exe" with exe" -trace=1000

Run the game then after the crash look in your Libraries/Documents/GTR/Userdate/Log_Dedicated folder for trace.txt file. C&P the content so we can have a looksee please.

Downloaded the file Tony and dropped that into a fresh download of the car file from the race post. I just copied and pasted your file straight into the Healey 3000 folder......no difference. So, I tried adding your file to each of the 5 car options ( just in case)... but still no joy. ???  At no point did it ask about "overwrite" which rings an alarm bell??!!

GTL loads 99.9% of the circuit and ( I guess) sets about sticking the Healey in there and ...black screen with error message.

I am off work today, which is good. But it is my wedding anniversary and we are going out for lunch ( possibly extended  ::) ). So I'm not sure if ,or when, I can get back to this, but I have been promised time off if I am good this evening.

Hopefully I will join you all this evening.

The file I provided only needs to be in the main Austin Healey folder, not in the individual car folders. What's the error message?

Reading through the text of the Trace log I suspect that I am missing an original Healey 3000 car folder? Some of the files that it reports not being able to locate, I just do not have. Am I right in assuming that there should be an original GTL Healey 3000 to which download from the race post is added?? This would explain why I did not get asked to "overwrite" the file that you offered?

In my Austin Healey 3000 folder I have 5 sub folders:- 460DR-R  through to 465DR-R  + the file that you sent, and nothing else. In each of the sub folders there are about 15 files.

I have copied my AustinHealey folder to:

I have just cracked it ( I hope) .

As I guessed frrom reading that Trace file, the original Healey 3000 car folder was missing from the installation that I am running. I have a humungous external backup hardrive that I save all my stuff onto as my computer ineptitude often requires that I need to recover lost files.  ::)

I found the copy of my original GTL install and copied the original Healey 3000 file across, added the download from the race post and surprise surprise!! it all works when all the files are present.

Race 1:

First of all an apology to Clive. Only when I watched the replay did I realise I hit you at T1 on L1, causing your spin.  From my POV, I had cleared your car before you started to spin, and the impact wasn't felt at all.  Had I known at the time, I would of course have waited. But then I would have robbed you of the satisfaction of hunting me down later, so maybe not so bad after all..  :D

Had qualified 3rd, but slipped to 4th at the start, when Tony got better off the line. With the above incident, and some 'help' from Tony  ;D, I slipped by on the outside at T1, grabbing the lead. Had Matt in hot pursuit for a few laps, until he got stuck at the pit entrance.  With no other cars in sight, I was handed a big advantage - perhaps even a shot at winning the race. However, I promptly tossed it away, when I lost the rear under braking and spun at T1.  A Clive shaped dot soon appeared in my mirrors.  He was much quicker, so soon got past, when I ran wide at my Nemesis; T1.  Thus had to settle for 2nd.

Race 2:

Seemed Matt had lost his nerve after the accident in race 1, since I was able to qualify ahead of him  ;)   He slipped past at the start, but later lost time on L1, allowing me to reclaim 2nd. Soon after, I went wide at T3 and touched the barrier, flipping the car. By the time it was righted, Kurt and Tony roared past.  I gave chase, and on the following lap, Tony passed Kurt at the start/finish. Maybe because of that, Kurt braked MUCH sooner than I expected at T1.  Caught me out completely, and I slammed into the back of his car - apologies for that  :oops:  Fortunately, it didn't seem to affect him. I on the other hand, went into the barrier, flipping the car once more. By the time it was righted, I was in a rather battered Healey, facing the wrong way. If I hadn't been last before, I surely was now!

Set off again. Caught and passed Kurt recovering from a spin, after a few laps.  Think he let me through; thanks if that was the case :)   Tony was 8 secs ahead, and for 3-4 laps, I didn't make any inroads in his lead.  But then it suddenly dropped to under 5 secs, and I soon had a visual on him.  Wild chase was on then.  Caught him with 2 laps to go, but an overtake opportunity never presented itself, so had to settle for 4th... - no wait, 3rd actually, as Clive was DNF  :o  (Had only looked at the gaps on the pit board, so didn't realise I was in 3rd, until after the race)

Looked at the replay to see what happened to Clive.  Clive mate, you hit escape way too fast when you flipped the car - had you hesitated a moment, it would have righted itself and you could have carried on, probably to win that one too..  8)

Grats to Clive & Matt for convincing wins (and to GT who's the true Champ)

Well, no one told me THAT is what happens!!!!! lol

I guess I am too ingrained in GPL where at PRO level, if you crash like that and cannot move you are just an obstruction on the track so you quit asap so as not to cause problems for other drivers. So it is automatic for me to hit ESC the instant the car is stuck or disabled.

TBH the crash was me just losing concentration, I was happy circulating at around the 60 sec mark ( watching the gap backand was wondering if a 58 sec lap would be possible once the fuel level drooped. That'll teach me to dream!!!!
