Title: UKGPL Season 26 (2014) Friday Trophy - VIR - Apr 11
Post by: EvilClive on April 08, 2014, 10:30:05 PM +0100
Although the Road Ontario track is awesome to drive, several members have reported problems offline. So this series of 4 races is switching to a similar circuit... Virginia International Raceway (VIR)

Just like Road Ontario, VIR has a mixture of tight corners and wide sweeping fast sections. It is also quite wide and allows plenty of room for passing

Race date = 11-04-2014
Race Time = race starts at 21:05 UK time

Race length = 20 minutes (laps F2 14   C69x16 )
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Good timing on the committee decision,  as this may be my practice evening! (Or rather,  what's left of it!)
At least I've been to VIR now.  Not that it will help much of course!

There again, heavy eyes are getting heavier.  Maybe working from home tomorrow will permit a lunchtime session...  At least the setups are already done ;)

Cheers,
Dave.

Sorry to Cookie for tap lap 2 in 69 race. Tried to keep from running into back of you, only to side-side hit :(.

Fun stuff otherwise.

NP Dean, you had avoided several possible crashes before  ;)

Yeah, this track provides great racing!

What is the purpose of purple?  There must be a purple purpose.  It's a right royal mystery!

It would seem to indicate entry to the SROU lap record hall of fame! (Presumably in class, or because BT14 is marked as 'unknown'. It's certainly unknown to me anyway!)

Congratulations Axel, Tommie, Dave C, Mark, and Dean! Excellent job in the BT14 Tom.

I've been getting the same thing for over a week. :(

no discos or dnfs, nice to see.

GPL locked up at the end of qualifying for me in the 69's. I didn't have enough time to get back in the race before it started. I kept driving after I crossed the line for the final time. I guess I should have stopped like I usually do.

I needed more practice. I got about 30 minutes in each car before qualifying started. First time I've driven this track.

Thanks guys. It was fun while it lasted.

And that would have been a great opportunity to apologize for taking me out of the lead in race 1. Just sayin'.  ::)

You realy seem to be in a bad temper atm...

Have you looked at the situation from different POVs?
I tried everything to avoid your spinning car!
I had lifted from the moment I recognized your going sideways...

Let others decide whos fault, I am tired of this ... !

Yet, for the exact same situation, I'm judged (by you?) at fault here: https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=11937#event3684.  ::)

Consistency avoids bad feelings.

That was me Dean and I will end up modding this one in all probability in that Cookie will not mod his own incidents.

We do try and be consistent but since moderation is necessarily subjective, it can be quite difficult. Mods also have their own 'style' which causes confusion and consternation.
