cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v3.1 from:  http://www.gtlw.co.uk
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

I may take a swing at this.  I've tried a couple of laps in each of the four marques available.  Could be fun!  :)

No Doni, the correct answer is "This will be Fun"   ;)

Damn, sorry Clive :( Got caught out by just how big the difference in braking was between the Alpine & Porsche. I should have been more careful.

NP John. Hope your paintwork was not blemished.
I was about a second off the pace here ( the pace of those I normally circulate with, not you!! ). After catching a kerb wrong on lap 1 which propelled me through the chicane are and into the barriers, I was so far behind that I almost quit there and then.

I have to confess I was not expecting you to brake so late though  :o and I thought that I could just run wide at the apex of T1 and let you scoot through underneath me....but I was wrong lol

I am glad that I struggled an as long as I did because I began to improve my times, but my biggest handicap is trying to get the PnG setups to feel like the tyres are on tarmac and not on a layer of lard!!!

That was an enjoyable race. I had driven the 911ST in a couple of short WSL fun races at Oschersleben B on Tuesday night (the first time that I had ever raced the car), so I decided that this was another opportunity to try and get a "feel" for the car. I learned on Tuesday night to be very careful with the braking and weight transfer, and I used that to pretty good effect in tonight's race.

I intended to use the medium tyres for the race (since I expected the soft tyres to be crap after half distance), so I decided to use them for the qualifying session aswell. I managed to hold on to P4 after a rather slow start, and settled in behind Jarda in another Porsche, and Geoffers in the Escort. Clive was hassling me at times from behind in another Escort.

Geoffers managed to get past Jarda, and that left me in a Porsche battle for 3rd place. I suspected that Jarda was on soft tyres, so I expected him to suffer with loss of grip later in the race. That seemed to be the case, and eventually I got a decent enough exit out of the final corner to enable me to ease past him down the main straight. I was on the inside for T1, so I made the overtake stick. I then steadily pulled away from him. Geoffers was around 4 seconds ahead of me, and I managed to keep the gap steady, but I lost a couple of seconds here and there because of slight errors. That remained the case for the rest of the race.

It was a shame that there were only 11 drivers in the race. A short track like Limerock is crying out for a 25+ driver grid, because it creates all kinds of interesting scenarios where lapping other cars is concerned. It would have made the race so much more exciting, but I guess that we have no chance of that these days. At least until the Autumn when (hopefully) other drivers will return....

Results and Replay Posted

That was the best race I've had for a while, always someone to dice with  :thumbup1:

Even caught Clive up towards the end, I had Ed trying to dive past whiel I was trying
to have a go at Clive, sorry for the tap, was not expecting you to slow so much
and I was under fire at the time. I suppose Clive was on the softer tyres
Great fun in any case.  8)

............ I suppose Clive was on the softer tyres

Correct.   ;D

Always on the wrong tyres and usually put them on the wrong car as well!

I was hampered at the start by being directly behind Geoffers, who went of the line like a ruptured duck.  I had to lift and Mogget got the advantage into T1.  That was me sorted.  I nearly lost another place to Doni as well.

I was on the better tyres to start with but then I had a two-Porsche roadblock in front of me any time that I managed to get close.  The result of which was that I had a few near misses and nearly fell back into Doni's clutches as well.

Then my tyres went off and I had Matt catching me.

Another lap and both he and Ed would probably have been past.

Grats to John, Geoffers and Mogget.

Ah yes, the old 'off the line like a ruptured duck' trick, always confuses the opposition!  ;D  Still it gave John the chance to disappear over the horizon.

Wasn't too hopeful of a good result again, couldn't keep the car on the track for more than about 3 laps at a time during practice & qually, kept messing up T2 & the final turn. As it turned out it was rather an uneventful race after I got past Jarda's Porsche (don't know how you guys drive that thing, can never stop the back overtaking the front when I've tried it!). Thought I may have some company when Mogget moved into 3rd but when he didn't close the gap I just needed to be careful to hold onto my 2nd place.

Congrats to John (superb pace again) & Mogget.

Grats to John on a fine victory!  I don't think I've ever seen an Alpine dash off to a convincing win except in a spec race for the marque.  Impressive stuff there.

Kudos to Geoffers and Mogget2 for claiming the other podium slots.  Well done.

I had quite a bit of fun up to half-distance when I started to perceive a distinct lack of adhesion with the rear covers.  Mogget2 asked in post-race chat what tyres I had fitted and to be honest, I didn't know.  My lack of experience with P&G kept from realizing that I had options there and I went to the line with what the default loaded.  In checking later, I note that I was on the soft compound rubber.  Noting Moggs suggestion, I should have down-graded to the medium in the interest of longevity.  Next time!  :)

I got a pretty good start and challenged Clive in his Escort but couldn't quite seal the deal in having to yield for T3.  Over the next laps, I really enjoyed trying to hang onto Clive and even managed a short-lived pass at one point.  Shortly after, the grip started to fade and I promptly handed the spot right back to him.  A little bit further into the race and the grip situation was really becoming an issue and when Phspok and A Ed closed in to run close astern, I felt no option but to pull aside and let them go.  Shortly after, I parked it as a shunt was clearly on the cards.

I had good fun and circumstances permitting, I'll be back for more down the road.

Donnie,

Are you part of a team here? If not, then I would like to invite you to join the WSL Racing Team. Someone will have to let me know how to send the invitation, because I have no bloody idea!

Hi, Chris.  As best I know, I'm driving for Blue Moose.  That's the case for my UKGPL events, at least.  I take it that it translates over to PnG as well.  I see that in the results chart above.
