The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Moderating The red zone will be fully moderated for lap 1 only. For this event the red zone will be from the start to the exit of the second Lesmo on the first lap. Other moderation will be on reported incidents only.  However any incidents that occur in the red zone that are not reported by the drivers will be reported by the moderator.  This will allow all affected drivers the opportunity to present their case before the incident is moderated.  This should ensure there are no surprises when the moderator's report is published and hence appeals will be less likely.  If you haven't received a PM about an incident before the link below the results table is removed, you can be sure that you will not appear in the moderator's report.

The chassis token system is explained on the Privateers (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=426&theme=6) standings page. Please ensure you choose a chassis that is within your budget, which can be seen by hovering the mouse over your points total in the standings.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

I would love to host this race with UKGPL_8 to avoid any possible problems.

Very disappointing. I accidentally picked the wrong setup - old and unfamiliar so took me a few laps to work it out but disastrously it was a qualifying setup with 13 laps of fuel. Bit miffed right now.

S/R and S'n'G on the 1st lap ...don't know what happened, let's the moderator determine the responsibilities !

Nice fight with Bernie who had the same problem on the 1st lap.

Then nice battle too, with Phil... as usually it's a big pleasure to compete with such a driver !
Unfortunately, we were part of an accident when Andy was lapping us and I had to retire ... Here again, the moderator will decide !

Not a great race for me. Woeful start from pole put me back to 5th and then a run through the sand at Parabolica after a few laps. A long chase back up to 2nd and then coming up to lap Phil and Dave who were having a great scrap, into CG I missed my braking and ended both their races. Well I am very sorry chaps - I wasn't desperate to get past, I was settled in 2nd and happy to finish. I just didn't think of braking until I saw Phil suddenly getting much too big in front.
Grats to Axel for another commanding performance at the front and for George running strongly and overtaking me in Parabolica on the outside in lap1.

Quite happy with the final result.
As I had the tokens available,  thought I should probably opt for the Lotus although fastest historical time (admittedly over a single lap...!) was in what I was planning to use  - Eagle.

Late to the event as I'd downloaded a few setups tonight in case they made me drive better;  which they didn't of course.

Was very happy to have got away from 5th.  Made up 2 places by T1;  but realistically was never going to keep them for long - was a case of trying to hold off the inevitable.

Solo running once I'd been passed.  All rather uneventful really,  but sometimes those kinds of events provide the best results!

Cheers all. Have a feeling I may not see a few of you next season ;)

Dave.

Grats Andy for a well deserved championship !
you are the only driver to have scored points for ALL races (worst result = 4th !)

You and Cookie were clearly the best this season !

For the final 3rd place, it was very close between Phil (261 pts), Hendy(259 pts), me(258 pts) and Georges (249 pts).
I couldn't race in Snetterton due to a very stupid error from myself ...and it surely costs me a lot.

To tell the truth, I was very surprised of the high level of this Privateers season 26 .
I was Privateers champion on season 23, and 2nd on Works season 25 so I thought it would be more easy to compete for the title ...but I was completely out   !

Clearly not the best of tracks for the BT24.
According to my race history I have driven around 350 races ā€“ so at least a dozen of those must have been at Monza. By this time you would have thought that Iā€™d know where to brake to avoid the sand trap at Parabolica ā€“ apparently not!
Congratulations to the winners, both last night & for the championship. Very tough competition at the sharp end.

FIFA have kindly arranged a large scale kick-about in Brazil to keep me occupied over the summer ā€“ see you all after the season break.

I do fully agree  :notworthy:

I can do a good pace on "my" tracks but there are tracks I really have a problem with...

Monza is a good place for me as I know every inch of it  ;)

So I decided to take the more reliable Lotus for this final race, took a GH2 longGP setup as basis and had a perfect car for 32 laps.
Not much action for me, besides a stupid spin into Para grabble that cost me 20sec, but not enough to loose the lead.

After this season I think I am ready now to go to the works to fill the lower ranking there ;D

..Woeful start from pole put me back to 5th...A long chase back up to 2nd...George running strongly and overtaking me in Parabolica on the outside in lap1.

I've detonated a few engines in my time trying to do rapid starts in the Lotus so I deliberately didn't rev it to get off the line so I too had a poor start. I did not have the pace of yourself or Axel. I can do 1:28s if I push hard but you gents can easily lap in the 1:27s! I thought I would have an almighty fight with Dave and I think we did for a lap or two. I was utterly determined not to make a mistake this race and I think I managed it, I clobbered a few kerbs but there were no visits to the famous sand pit or smacks into the armco.

When I got past into 2nd initially, I knew it was only a matter of time before Andy came past again although I tried to prolong that as long as possible. I think I could just about (and I mean just!) keep pace with Axel and yourself around parts of the lap but as I said in post-race chat, I'm very poor through the Lesmos and I suffer for it. Too slow in and not fast enough out, too much understeer and I think my gearing is suspect there too, too tall perhaps.

Anyway, I saw the almighty shunt involving you, Phil and Dave from a distance. All I could see was a fiery Ferrari in the air and a heck of a lot of smoke. I managed to stop in time, just.

As for that outside pass on lap 1, you gave me breathing room so thanks. I tried to stay wide too and cut back too soon in case you were lurking up the inside.

When George pipped me in qually I went for a faster, but harder to controll setup, and got 3rd back then had the brain wave of using it in the race, i wasnt intending to and should of left well alone ::). Could not keep with cookie despite over driving and then the inevitable slap into the armco, im sure that damaged the car a bit but fortunatly i blew the engine shortly after.

Grats to Andy and to Cookie, i think your consistancy will reep rewards in the works.

Thanks all.

I enjoyed driving the Brabham. I also tried the Lotus and Eagle, but the Brabham was easier to drive. I especially enjoyed trying to close the gap to Michael from lap 16 to 22. I braked too late into the first lesmo on lap 22, and that ended any hope of catching him. I spun at the exit of the 2nd lesmo on lap 25, and I had to wait for Andy, Dave R. and Phil to pass before I could get going again. So I had to be a little more careful for the last 5 laps because Billy was getting closer.

I had a good scrap in the points with Michael and BadBlood. I'm sorry that BadBlood had bad luck. I'm looking forward to next season.  :)
