Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v3.1 from:  http://www.gtlw.co.uk
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

Always like racing at Rouen, tricky but fast. These yank beasts will be a handful  :)

Me too, after I had stopped feeling sick due to all those trees dancing about in front of me!

Also I have many fond memories of this track  :thumbup1: the bend of the new world should still be the rusting hulks of several Ferrari and Lotus that I left there ...

Hope to make this one. Isn't that vette a bit too quick in this company?

The Corvette is a little faster on the straights, but the Falcon is very close,  more manageable in curves
I have not tried the Mustang but I think they are about the same speed  ::)
My best time in Vette 2.15.5 in Falcon 2.16.x

Just how the heck are you guys getting lap times in the 2:15 range??!!!

I cannot get below 2:20!!  :-\ and that is with a lap that I should not really survive! Everything is at 110% with the rear tyres  glowing and several blemishes left in the armco and scenery!!  ::).

If I get home early enough this evening I need to start again with these cars. The circuit I know from GPL, but getting the most out of these cars is proving tricky  lol and dangerous  :o

I expect to make the grid for this round.  And like Clive, I'm nowhere near 2:15's with my Mustang.  Best thus far is a 2:20.5 timing.

I'll have to finesse my way to the win.  :)

This one is a shameless steal from an earlier event, which I can't find now  ???
But I think a Vette won with an  :alien: at the wheel, though most people
didn't take it as it was too awkward.

Is this the VLM Rouen track?

Yes the earlier and longer version of the 2 layouts.

Assuming that enough drivers make it to the track, I may make an appearance in the GT350.

Grrr, the simracing gods are really against me lately  >:( Lost all ffb on the starting grid so steering wheel had absolute zero resistance and therefore no feel  :'(  Apologies to anyone I got tangled with as I leered from side to side on the run down to the chicane. I even tried powering off my wheel and on again but it made no difference. As soon as I quit out the race the ffb returned to normal  ::)  No idea what caused that, couldnt have happened in one of the earlier seshs so I had a chance to re-set everything could it  :taz:

Real shame as I totally enjoyed the qually session and was on for a good race long battle with about 5+ cars on very similar pace  :'(  I carried on for about 10 laps at the back but it was just painful so eventually quit out. I've now gone to sulk at the back of the garage.

Cars were great and track is always excellent for a vintage race 8)

Replay and Results Posted
Enjoyed that, Rouen is always a challenge but always enjoyable, had some offs that put me at the back end of the pack
but was slowly catching the Clives when i went off again, and over revved the motor at the end of the straight to 12%
so took it easy.

Flipped the Vette on the side in 14th lap while I was 3rd.  >:(

Weird thing is that this Vette was sliding much more with half way down rear tyres than CS, that we used last week, with no rubber at all in xd bar.   ???

Also, glad to see bigger numbers at starting grid.  :thumbup1:

Congrats to Giuseppe on a fine win!

Ditto for Federico in P2!

And a great job by goldtop to break the Corvette parade with a podium finish!  Well done.

It certainly was apparent once qualifying opened that the bow-tie brigade had the goods on all the blue oval runners.  By a bunch, too.

Well...  Not my finest hour.  If I'd managed to match my pre-race practice PB, I would have started well up but it was not to be.  No matter...it would be fun trying to pass.

Lost a couple of places after the New World hairpin as I made allowances for Walter and phspok but got those back again later in the first lap.  On lap four, I had a cinch pass on Clive at the end of the back straight but failed to slow enough for Scierie and drilled the sandwich boards.  Still not sure why I bungled that.  Lost a couple of spots.

In fighting back, I made more gaffes losing time instead of gaining it til a final punch of the guardrail in T2 convinced me that I was off-form...am I ever on?  :)...and I'd best park it before I ruin someone's race.

Next time...

Doni

Told ya those vettes were too quick  ::) ;)  Didn't have a chance of competing with them and spent most of the race in no man's land. Still, enjoyed the drive and was fortunate to sneak a pody as Geoffers and Ed dnf'd. Looked like some good battles going on front and back.

Congrats to Giuseppe on his win  8)

Grats to the podium and those in the "quick" category up front.

I think this was just about my best race yet in PnG and certainly the best with any muscle machinery.

I struggled, really struggled when I tried these cars on Wed evening. During qually I just concentrated on lapping and trying to get the feel of the car and avoid heating up the tyres. Slowly I was beginning to feel the grip and where to use that power in the corners.
As the race developed it all started to gel, although I found my car choice seemed to lack top speed up the long back straight.  But I was preserving the rubber and slowly hauling in the cars in front. As a couple went grass cutting I picked up places and also picked off a couple of cars that wobbled at an opportune moment.

I hate to say it of a team mate, but I did have a large grin when I passed Mr Loynes and managed to pull a nice safe gap, which I monitored right to the end of the race, just watching him in the mirror and keeping him under control.  ;D

My lap times were still nowhere near the fast guys, but as a race for me it was enjoyable...at last!!
