THIS POST IS FOR BOTH GRIDS
F2 race at the classic Silverstone circuit. As we all know the circuit let’s avoid the demolition derby last time out at Monsanto.
We will maintain the Grid A & Grid B arrangement but both groups will race together. We will be using UKGPL7, which is back in operation.

Drivers have been allocated to the grids as below
Group A
Arf, Cookie, Dean Logan, Doni Yourth, Evil, Greg T, Marco, Natan, Fulvio, Badblood, Billy, Boggy, Il Lupo & Newblood.

Group B
Phil Thornton, Piero Mercaldo, Rainier, Raoni, Robert Fleurke, Roberto Teso, Ronnie, Samb, Turkey Machine, Iestyn, Dave Curtis, Rog, Maddog, Bernie & Walter

ONE reset is allowed but the Shift R must be followed by a Stop & Go in the pit lane within TWO laps. If you Reset on the last lap a 15 second time penalty will be awarded. Drivers must complete 50% of the race distance to score.

Free choice of chassis.

Hi guys, decided to join you for this round, provided there is enough room on the server for an extra starter :) .

I have just registered in the Season 26 F2 Trophy poll.

Will drive the Brabham BT14.

Well, managed to get into qually session late (luckily still a slot available!)  then had some wheel issues,  so couple of disconnect/reconnects to try to get that under control.

At the start of the race,  sat on the grid - but eerily all alone;  with a view of pretty much the start/finish straight as I was so far back.
DSL had dropped out between end of qually & start of race.

Shame, was looking forward to potentially some fun tussles at the back.

Nevermind.  On with the washing machine then...

GL all!

Dave.

Well that was good fun. Annoyed I had to reset after a crash, but it only cost me one place in the end. The top 3 finishers were too fast for me tonight.

I have already looked at the stats on replay, and I think many drivers tonight did a little too much exploration of the track limits. There is certainly one person I'd have looged a complaint against, had they finished ahead of me. I had 23/26 on track laps. One of those fails I was upside down, another I was avoiding Ronnie after he had an incident, not sure about the other one.

Overall, looks like a P3 for me in the A championship. Nice way to end the season, unlike the 66s last week..

Thanks to all, esp the mods.

Arf

Quali was very good, even with hardly a tow, comfortably got pole. Plan was to break the draft early in the race with a car that has less topspeed than the MS7, and that happened, Lap 1 and 2 were very good!

Was leading Roberto 11s, until I hit the inside wall in T1, and wrecked hard! I was too loose on turn in, after tires got hotter, and lost focus. Just could stay in front of RT, but car was damaged and got even looser on turn in. Every turn was a challenge, and couldn't run really fast laps. Concentrated to keep RT at bay and out of the draft, but almost threw the win away in the last lap...

Rarely have had such a tough race concerning handling, and was really annoyed about my crash earlier in the race, but happy with the win :)

Happy to be able to race, and keeping the championship alive after last race' debacle! Bring on Brands Hatch!

It was looking like a close race from the quali times.

I was feeling good on cold tyres and was able to hassle Roberto for the first few laps until a warp contact at T3 fired me off and I was dropped to about 12th I think. Luckily no damage done and I did not need a reset or SnG. So back onto the track and burn rubber......................

The rest of the race was 99% on the limit and 1% over the limit at times as I picked up places until I was within sight of Dean with 2 laps to go and only needed a wobble from him to sniff a podium. Then my latency bars shot up and I waited for the inevitable.....disco  :(

A bit miffed to have worked so hard only to be beaten by technology beyone my control!!

for mexico I have no point in the score...........??????why?????  Ahhh  now I know, the rules said : each driver has discarded their worst two results. but  i think that, missing race it s  not a results, then it s crazy to consider it.

Marco, you've been in UKGPL long enough to know that this has always been the case..... It is based on what the real rules were in the 60s.....

Was a great race to watch the replay, especially behind me  :P All the fights guaranteed that I could break away...weird thing again mechanical report doesn't give me damage. I think it isn't bulletproof, experienced it before, I was sure having damage as the car wanted to wreck with the least steering input turning in...

Thanks to Dave Curtis for letting me by in my pole lap. Very good waving me by, did you see me wave back?  ;D Also well done podium and finishers. Sorry to hear Clive, what a bad luck you are having this season...

Missing a race does not count as a score. The dropped scores only come into play in races 9 and 10 and since round 6 was abandoned it only came into effect last night. The best eight races count so the Mexico result is dropped as it is your 9th best score.

You have attended all nine races and scored - not sure why you are thinking that a missing race has been counted.

If you score more than 28 points next time out, Jops Siffert will get dropped. Clear?

Clive will not drop a score as he has missed two races so if Clive wins, you will need second place to take the championship. If Dean wins, you would need fourth or higher. Nobody else is in with a shout.

My race - first two laps AWESOME. Overtook loads of people but found I could not stay with Bill and trying too hard went wide at Abbey and ended up slewing back and forth across the track and ripped of a wheel. Tried too hard to catch up and kept clipping kerbs and spinning. Third time, I gave up so that I would not be a danger to shipping.

Just cannot seem to get on with the F2's....

That was YOU? You attempted a new height record at Silverstone not seen since the air force used it!

Grats to Robert on a fine win!  This week snagging the F2 race at Silverstone.  Last week, roaring off to a convincing win at Monza.  He's on a roll!  :)

Paul nicely summed up my impressions of the F2 MOD.  I still don't have a handle on it and that fact coupled with what is a top contender on my list of least favourite venues gave me not unexpected results.  Sigh...

Final crack at the F2 mod will be the rerun at Brands Hatch on Sunday.

Thanks boss ;) Also won last 2 Ghog races, so that's 4 in a row :)

Final crack at the F2 mod will be the rerun at Brands Hatch on Sunday.

Will the season end with 2 crowned champions, or will there be an overall champion as well? Very exciting in Grid B, I'm leading Roberto by 1pt, so who finishes in front, claims the F2 Grid B trophy...and RT was very strong in the last Brands race but ran out of fuel then giving me the unofficial win in the Coop...but won't take the Cooper this time ;)

Whether on Sunday it seems clear, I hope everyone understood that last race of the season is, as from calendar, on Sunday, June 15th, a week away from the previous race, not two as usual.
