Replays (ftp://ukgpl3.dyndns.org/Replays/Archive/Season26/FunRaces/)

Please restrict chat to only very urgent messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

GLA and let's have FUN

PS
After the first race I was a little frustrated about the trouble 60fps still seems to make for some drivers...
But now after some days I decided to go on with the original idea!

I am racing with 60fps and GTs from the day they were published, my PC was less than half as powerfull as it is today, but it ran fine!
If you still have trouble with fps, it is mostly the CPU running at the limit and not the GPU!
Wanna find out? Use  OpenHardwareMonitor (http://openhardwaremonitor.org/) with the activated plot, showing the load of CPU and GPU ;)

I was really looking forward to this fun race. However, I just realized that July 4th is a major holiday in the states. We'll be shooting fireworks, eating BBQ and drinking beer; not necessarily in that order.

Hope everyone has fun on Friday. I wish that I could be two places at once.

Congratulations Mark...

...for being the only person that DIDN'T ram me off the road.

Looks like I may have a gearbox problem - on three/four occassions tonight I changed down by LOOKING at my shifter...not touching it...and too many times I changed down from 2/3 straight into neutral....anyone got a guide on taking a G25 shifter to bits?

Arf

I planned a sneak attack, by painting my Lola green at Nurburgring.  After practice, officials decided a white stripe was needed, so they'd find the wreckage amongst the greenery.  :'(

The pace was soon too hot at the front, and spare parts limited.  But much entertainment was had, swapping places with a Porsche clad competitor.  And the last lap saw a slipstream battle with his faster twin, up to and including the perilous left kink which can cause cars to painfully kink.  We survived, and I failed to earn my stripes.  A fun race. :D

Good race with Axel, but frustrating in the end.  I almost had it, but that damn 2F overtook me on the straight on the last lap.  Grumble...

Yeah, great fun racing with Mark wheel to wheel, Fez was better in corners but my Chappy was strong in acceleration and top speed  ;D

Sorry Arf, I just looked at our bump, you had taken a wide line and I thought you let me pass...

This football and US holiday made the grid smaller as expected ::)

Sorry Arf, despite you being a teamie I was also guilty of this  I was surprised when you seemed to slow doon unexpectedly...etc.

My race was rather strange, I agreed with the Mrs that I was gonna take part, but towards the end of Qual I had to help with our newborn and missed the start, when I got going you were 1.5 mins down the road.  Still I enjoyed ranting around and finally seeing a few cars towards the end.

Cheers for the fun!

Bob.

It's a shame I missed it. When I opened iGOR it said 4 laps remaining. I knew I was going to miss qualifying but thought I might make it in time for the race. :(

Thanks for the link to the software Axel. It's just what I've been wanting. I had a nice monitoring program for Windows XP but it won't work on Win 7. I had given up looking for monitoring programs after seeing so many that wanted to install a bunch of extra BS plus no way to install offline.

Is there any way to utilize the GPU more?

I found that in my case the GPU was idling with GPL (ATI HD7950).
So I set the graphics in GEM+ to the max values, even the details slider is 100%  ;)
In the ATI CCC I set the AA and AF to high values. Use VSync!

Test it with 69X at Monjuich and watch the fountain in the lower city...
