Daytona - GT Fun Race

In this summer break we will do some GT Fun Races with the 60fpsV1 patch (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=10298.0).

These races are just for fun so no passwords or modding.
Invite your non-UKGPL mates as well.
Unlimited Shift-R with no Stop n Go BUT we do expect gentlemanly behaviour!

No car restrictions but if you are quick give the Amateurs a chance...  ;)

GLA and let's have FUN

Much traffic tonight, but not all of it at Daytona.  A very iffy signal, threw me from the track during practice, so only 1 lap on race fuel.  Hense, a very iffy race setup, which allowed me to shower sparks at all who dared follow, early in the race, all around the high speed banking. :angel: ::)

Apologies also to those following Chaps, for the brief disappearing act.   I counted 2 past, after slowing to let you go the first time around.  As it was only a fun race, I pressed on, and contested with one of the white winged wonders, until being removed from the track . . .  again.  Those GPL god's can be cruel! >:(

Congrats to Axel!  Fun fight but that damned white tank just had too much power, not much I could do.  Plus someone painted my Ferrari yellow which I think made it heavier.

I had intended to use a Ferrari too and had it prepared, but joining the race I did not check the car and when I saw others in Chap, I kept it..

How about Targa for the next round?

I've noticed something that may affect future Gt races.  First Season 27 Amateurs race is posted with this : ' For this season Drivers must complete 50% of each race to score.'  What happened to the vote for this stupid rule?

I like it :) .

An honest opinion is healthy Tommie.  I think this rule adds friction between drivers,and encourages cars to crawl around the track.  But there's also a sad issue with this, if you go look at :

The post for Ams registration is locked for a reason - it's incomplete, decisions have not been finalised yet. It will be unlocked when it is ready to accept registrations.

Now alerted to the state of pre-race preparation, it's puzzling the similarity to Season 26?  Amateur dates and tracks at this moment, are a tad similar to 26, so racing to 50% will be difficult, unless being rerun as Historics. :laugh:  Perhaps much of what's there is no longer applicable, for 27?   

Rolls? A luxury... the Morris Minor broke down on the parade lap. ;D


More likely the S26 registration was used as a template, which makes sense when most of it is duplicated. :)
