Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Great stuff coming up - thanks Tony.

But do you think that the timetable will work?

We will be starting around 20:45 at Barber, when we will have to practice here at Goodwood...  8)

Good spot Kurt. Knew I'd get that wrong somewhere  ::)

Practise sessions increased to 10mins to allow drivers to get beer/have comfort break/kiss significant other etc.

No its not valid, probably for driving the wrong way after the race finished.

Goodwood Report

gt-legends.eu/UKGTL/Report/2014-X-mas/2014-X-mas-2/3-Goodwood/index.html (http://gt-legends.eu/UKGTL/Report/2014-X-mas/2014-X-mas-2/3-Goodwood/index.html) (http://www.gt-legends.dk/GTLDK/images/smilies/final.gif)

Edit: I tried to see the replay from server - to see Lucas DQ - but just like in the race, CTD.
Race Report has no 'Cut Track' on Lucas...so yes, he has always been good to play, but a little unfortunate and innocent here  ;)

I watched him cross the line in 1st in the replay so re-did the results to cancel out the rogue DQ.

For aesthetics and noise, I really wanted to drive the Aston here.  However, not matter how hard I tried, I couldn't match my laptimes in the Jag, so had to be the latter.

The race: Well, once things starts to go tits up...

The above probably best describes this race for me.  Started already on my (not so) hot lap in qualy, when I hit the inner curb at T2 of Woodcote and rolled the car  ::)  Seemed to slide forever on the roof, and when it finally righted, I was on top of the armco at the Chicane!  Thus dead last on the grid, except for Kurt, who must have managed to loose even more time than me.

Got past Tony at the start, but then ended up bumping Clive at St. Mary's - sorry about that. Slowed us both enough for Tony to slip past.  On the next lap, Clive reclaimed his position from Tony, and then it was my turn. We were parallel all the way from Lavant Corner and down the straight.  Only towards the end had I gained enough to slip in front of him, but Tony wasn't letting up, Thus I braked later than I had wanted to, and was caught by Clive braking earlier than anticipated. Tried desperately to avoid him, turning to the inside, but here was grass, which didn't help my cornering. Hit Clive in the side, sending him into the sand and barrier, and myself into a spin. Very sorry about that

Rejoined back in my starting position, a fair distance behind Clive. Worked my way back to him over the next laps, determined not to hit him again.  Was approaching the Chicane a safe distance behind him  - I thought - but when he practically stopped mid-Chicane, I couldn't brake in time  :o  Suffice to say I helped him exit the Chicane a little faster than he probably expected...  :D

Chase on again, and when Tony had a spin at Woodcote, Clive passed him. Had hoped to do the same, but my rear kicked out under braking, making the nose dive inward, aiming for Tony.  Couldn't avoid contact and went up on two wheels.  Lost time thus, and again through the Chicane.  Started next lap by running wide onto the grass at Madgwick - why make it easy on yourself..  ::)   Clawed my way back, but just as I was getting within spitting distance of the cars in front, I put a rear wheel outside the track at St. Mary's, and promptly spun :censored:

Had caught Tony when the last lap started. Passed him down Fordwater, as we both roared past a rejoining Roger.  Tony then bumped me at St. Mary's, sending my far into the grass field. In gentlemanly fashion, he waited for me to rejoin in front.  Fortunately, Roger showed some solidarity, running wide at St. Mary's too - if he hadn't, he would have nailed both Tony and me.  I made some mistakes at Woodcote, but lucky for me, Tony went even more off, so I kept my position - a not quite well deserved 4th.

Grats to the podium, apologies to Clive (except for the 3rd bump  ;D), and commiserations to Pelle for his CTD.

Happy New Year all; see you in 2015!

Cheers,
Erling

For me, this race was the highlight of the evening. Suffered badly in the first two events with an intermittent loud pedal fault e.g. under braking the throttle stayed open then came down slowly. Tried everything to fix it but it kept occurring. Finally went into Controls and set 0 sensitivity for accelerator and this sorted me out in time for the Goodwood race.
Really enjoyed the various battles/chases I had with Jags and Healeys, thanks to Roger, Clive and Erling for a truly memorable race.
Wouldn't be at all suprised if this car combo doesn't get a series of it's own next season  ;)

Thanks to Tony for this Xmas Special  :thumbup2:...

...I randomly discovered when I spoke with Erling & we talked about it would be fun to meet online (Erling has also visited TEAM-GTLDK in his Porsche, WOW... Kurt, we still lack)...a series that seemed funny on paper...and it did not disappoint. Fun to meet you and especially to help TEAM GTLDK ... + a surprise I persuaded my son to help.  ;D

Rouen:
I sit still and playing Russian roulette (http://www.gt-legends.dk/GTLDK/images/smilies/russian.gif) because I at last lap would put a 22 time...that ended badly wrong.  ::)
If we look at ABB, Rank 1 out of 99: 2:23.179 ...my best time in the race: 2:23.136
Fortunately, my son takes the win in his first league race in GTL  :thumbup1: Big Grats & to Geoffers & Erling  ;)

Birmingham Short:
Something mess in qual, I run out of the pit but feel something is wrong...DOH, I'm on race setup & press ESC...and anyway, it almost completely wrong with qual setup  :o
Race:
I am lucky and take positions on the start, while I shake my head of Lucas: False Start from Pole  :nono:
Geoffers was really fast here and I began to be afraid of my tires...but I think there were several who lacked grip from the middle of the race, hehe...and I run the finish line first  ;D
Grats Geoffers & Erling  :thumbup2:
(ABB times, Rank 1 out of 11: 1:07.550 )...1:07.511 I did it Again  8)

Goodwood:
Here started the problems with CTD (exactly like a race for more than a week ago, the track name: Beez 1971...but Goodwood, has never had any problems here.
When I join the server again, I choose to take Coupe to see if it helps (whether it is heavier and about 2sec slower)...but in the middle of the race, CTD  >:(
Too bad I did not experience it...Lucas wins again (but he got a hug)   Grats Lucas, Geoffers & Erling  :thumbup1:(http://www.gt-legends.dk/GTLDK/images/smilies/final.gif)
(ABB times Goodwood,  Rank 1 out of 49: 1:23.318 Lucas: 1:23.287 ...really fast times we've run here at UKGTL  8)
...& A big Grats to Geoffers to win this Xmas Special  a deserved (http://www.gt-legends.dk/GTLDK/images/smilies/trophy1.gif)
A big thank you to TEAM-GTLDK...we got 4x (http://www.gt-legends.dk/GTLDK/images/smilies/trophy1.gif) & won the Team Championship (http://www.gt-legends.dk/GTLDK/images/smilies/offended.gif)

Tip for next year Xmas Special: (incredibly fun) Winter Rosin
