Track:Portimao Download and install this (https://www.simracing.org.uk/downloads/s3.php/gtr2/tracks/SRou_GTR2_Portimao_1.1.0.0.exe)

Championship Standings (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=432&theme=34)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v3.1 from:  http://www.gtlw.co.uk/
(4) Watch our for pit lane speeding, some tracks support this.
(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface most of the time (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect

There are:
4x Very fast tracks, 4x Medium , and 4x slower/tighter tracks
And pitstops are only at half the events

There are 12 Events, and 15 cars, so there will be a choice of 4 cars at the last event.
The Le Mans Finale is the "revived" version, and (force field on) it's the one with the chicanes
After the way the last one turned out I have no choice.

Rough guide to track Pace and which events have Pit Stops:

Faster: Barcelona (Stop); Paul Ricard;  Spa (Stop); Le Mans revived (Stop);

Medium: Melbourne (Albert Park);  Imola (Stop);  Interlagos;   Mexico 67;

Slower: Hungaroring (Stop);   Keimola;   Portimao (Stop);  Albi 2006;

I think that the server needs changing to x2 Tyre Wear.

Also, why do we have braking help and stability help allowed?

And does it help?   ;D

Please NOTE:

Tony and I are both away next week, and no one has volunteered to do the server duties.
So. The server has been set for practice with the correct laps etc. The drivers will
need to advance to the next session when needed. I will do the results etc when I get
back next weekend. If someone does do the server then expect normal service.

Have a nice time Matt.

Sure we will be ok so long as the server stays on its feet and nobody turns it off to run anything else.   ::)

I'm afraid that SBR's will have to struggle on without me on Thursday evening.

Really bad luck for me too, as I will be en-route to Goodwood for the Revival weekend. yeah, I know it's tough but someone has to go there and smell the Castrol R and burning rubber  :-\

Have fun.

I went a few years ago and it was just about the best "feel good" day-out that I can remember.  The whole day was just "exuberance" from start to finish.

Was even fun staggering about in a pitch black field trying to find my car!

Is the lobby down?

Yeh, it appears both the GTR2 & GTL lobbies are down at the moment, hopefully not permanently!

Bart Westra used to run the MARA server without using the lobby.

You need the IP address and then I think it was done as a LAN connection.  Can't look at PnG at the minute to see what the options are to jog my memory.

Clive your in right, you just know the IP address of the server and put it in the page of LAN connection.
If necessary, you could use the German lobby pilsbierbude.de.
I will look tonight if it's still available  ???

Cheers  ;D

Trouble is that it is all a bit academic if we don't have a server jockey!  :(

Mmm ... I could put the server T7 but I do not have permission to install the track and Vincenzo is on holiday in Sardinia  :(
This evening I try to run it and see if it happens to be running the same version that we use.
In the evening I let you know  ::)

Thanks Erik.

Now we just have to hope that the AC types reinstate it correctly after their fun race tonight.

I put the server T7 with the German lobby and the Portimao track installed looks the same ;)
If you say that he is back lobby original get back the server in order and we can use it if there are problems with your

Now I restarted the server but from here I can not test if it works well  :(
If anyone has time to try, the server is T7 PnG3.1, pass t7cup, thanks  :-*

I can see both servers in the simbin lobby but can only join the UKPnG one.

I get booted as possible cheat on the Team7 server.  Tried to join three times but only tried with the GT40Mk1.

Also the Team7 server is NOT set to x2 tyre wear.

No problem with the UKPnG server.

They are a tardy bunch.

I think that the final stages of this series has been deemed too dificult by some.

And I know what they mean!

My tyres on the GT40 were ok for about 7 laps then suddenly I was 3 seconds a lap down.  Even Geoffers in his roller skate was catching me!  :(

I think that Team7 must have access to tyres with grippy canvas!  Or perhaps Federico and Giuseppe are just good at driving cars that have no grip.  :(

We never got to see if Legzy could gain a lap in the pit stop either!

Only joined with about 2mins of qually left and hadn't done any practise but hoped to be able to jump in a 914 and battle some guys towards the back of the pack. Sadly the few that were there quit within the first 8 laps.  :( I plodded on for a few more laps but came out of the pitstop about a minute behind the front 5  ??? So quietly parked up and walked away  :whistling:

This tricky track deserved a better turn out really. I'm trying to save a Gt40 for LM, at this rate we will be doing it in an Élan  :surrender:

Ps thanks for all the condolences in the other thread, much appreciated, been a horrible few weeks.

I would like the GT40 for LM also but you just have to identify the best car for each round and go with it or you may not get to drive it at all!

I think that there were more 914s than GT40s, well at the start anyway, so perhaps it is still an option.  It certainly wasn't an easy option.

My race turned bad when I had to stop early for fuel > for those of you who thought “where did he find that speed?” in the early laps, that’s the answer ;)  Then I made some noob faults:

Noob fault 1: I overshoot my pits
Noob fault 2: speeding in the pits
Noob fault 3: out of fuel after having to take a stop/go penalty  ::)

Hope I can make a better effort next race…

Yes, I did wonder where you went SuperSwift..

Despite the low turnout and early retiremants I was enjoying the battle with the 914s of Geoffers and SS, but after SSwift retired and Geoffers spun I was left on my own. I had the supersoft tyres and was going to change them at half distance, but to stop boredom setting in I decided to change that strategy and planned to go through to the end on the tryres, and with just a quick splash and dash near the end. Screwed that up though by getting the settings wrong in haste on the pitboard, and ended up putting a new set of rain tyres on the rear..!

Made no odds though because I too got black flagged for pit lane speeding. Guess it helps if you do some practice.

Congrats to the podium.

LOL!! Do not blame Clive, next time we have to use the bathtub I'll send you a setup  :boat:
However, it is also a matter of driving style, for example, I've used less rubber then Federico ... but he was faster  :ninja:

For the choice of the car I think as Clive, at every track I try to find the fastest car.
However, in addition to the GT40, there are other fast cars that we can use in LM, 275S, Pantera, cobra427 which we never used but might be okay in a straight line  :thumbup1:
