I'm having problems with Misano. I have downloaded it from both the link in the race post, and the Alt Track Database, and tried to run the exe file. It tells me the 'app cannot run on your PC' (I'm on Win8.1).

Anyone else had this/got a solution?

Cheers

Arf

I had no problems installing this track, still on Win XP though ;)

Did you try running it as admin Arf, if possible!?

yup, tried that Robert

..might have been better if I'd said that if I run as Admin it goes a bit further - it opens the User Account Control dialogue box and asks me if I want to let a file from an unknown pulisher make changes to my computer. When I say Yes, it just tells me that it can't find the file in a specified location...trouble being that this location is exactly where where I originally clicked on it, so it is defo there...

I have just checked that I can install other tracks, and that works fine - just took WatGlen71 off the ATD and installed it no problem...

Maybe somebody could send you a copy of their Misano folder. I don't know how you'd manually add the track to your seasons file. Maybe GEM will do it.

I had trouble with this file too. I can't remember how I got around it. I likely booted to a different OS so I could extract the files and then ran the trackinstaller from win7. I'm guessing it has something to do with it being a 32-bit exe.

I've zipped my misano folder up  [only installed it last night!]  ->  http://www.zen11259.zen.co.uk/gpl/trk/misano/misano.zip (http://www.zen11259.zen.co.uk/gpl/trk/misano/misano.zip)

Also add the following to your 67season.ini;  updating the event # as appropriate:

--
[Event60]
name=Autodromo Santamonica
shortname=Misano GP
trackDirectory=misano
numberOfLaps=52
day=14
month=10
startingGrid=4

32bit XP rules!  :)

Cheers,
Dave.

Maybe i wont be racing....cant get Formula 2 mod to load via igor. When i go to practice online or even load it to play offline igor/gem+ will just pop back up and game wont open. Only does it on 69 extra series and 67 F2 mod. Any ideas?

Quali was a bit messy, made a few mistakes and had some traffic, but finally was able to put a sub43 on the board..

First laps were hairy on cold tires, with Clive on my tail and was expecting something like Jarama...but on Lap 3 he got caught out by my fast entryspeed into T1 I think, I bogged down in 3rd at the exit just making the corner, but Clive did a halfspin losing a position to Ronnie...

Gearings weren't optimal, especially not for T1 and following hairpin (3rd and 2nd or me), too tall and struggled to keep enough revs for enough torque...but apart from an off managed to bring it to the finish without major mistakes...

Race was tougher than it might have looked like, really struggled with the gearings and my focus...

Well done Clive and Ronnie in the beautiful handling T84, and finishers. Nice UKGPL laprecord Jethro, thought I could nick it last lap but just came short ;) Commiserations to the retirements...

Congratulations Rob, Clive, and Ray! That was fun.

The Ferrari was easy meat on cold tires. You gotta build up a head of steam to get any where with it. It's fun to drive but to get a decent lap time out of it, you've got to keep the rear end sliding in every turn. The two turns prior to the long straight and the fastest hairpin made me feel like I was dirt track racing. It was very easy to spin. I needed a lot more practice to get some good consistency. Hopefully, I'm not vulnerable to the Coopers any more.

Thanks guys.

Grats to Rainer on Heavy win
Grats to Heavy Podium

Rainier not Rainer  ;)

I was only 2nd, Heavy win was for a very brillant Dave Curtis !

Grats to you for your 1st on championship !

Race was difficult for me as I didn't know very well that track.
My first laps were horrific, I had a very light contact with Dave Curtis, then I spun and restarted last. Francesco was very hard to overtake, our cars had contact and I hope there was no damage for Francesco's Lola !

I had only managed a couple of laps around this track in the middle of last week and decided that this was NOT a track where I expected to be quick.  So no point in throwing away tokens on a fast chassis in a race that I might not finish?? I could have used the Lola BMW as I like the way it handles...or be really cheap and use the Fezza.

The weekend was spent away with my grandchildren being beaten up by 2 young boys ( apparently that is what Grandads are for!!) and I arrived home knackered and bruised. I did consider not racing, but decided that I could at least give it a go with the "cheap" Cooper and have some fun.

Qually was spent trying to remember the circuit and not arrive at the hairpin bends at warp speed thinking that it was a fast corner  :o.

Eventually I began to hang some sectors together and post some credible lap times. In fact I was more than happy to be 4th..much higher than I thought I deserved to be, but when a further lap on race fuel popped in a 2nd place spot with just a few minutes left I had to smile  ;D.
Now the problem was focusing on a good start and a race that I almost had not bothered with and had done no long runs in preparation.

The first laps were a bit hectic on cold tyres and with Robert making small errors in front ( nothing that I could take advantage of!) and Ronnie snapping at my gearbox. Then Robert fluffed a gear change and I tried to allow my car to run around him......it did not work and I half spun allowing Ronnie to sneak through and take 2nd.

Ronnie and I had a great battle for several laps as I tried to find a way past and get back at Robert, but I think all we did was allow Mr Fleurke to ease away to safety!! :taz: Eventually Ronnie ran wide and I took my chance to regain 2nd place, but by now Robert had got himself out of sight and no matter how hard I pushed I could not make any big dents in his lead. So the race became quite lonely except for the cars that I lapped who were generally very good and allowed me a smooth pass. There was one driver who I guess must have thought that I was someone else as he seemed intent on staying in front of me through several bends. It did not have any impact on the result for this race, so no problem this time.

Yeah good scrap while it lasted Clive. But eventually your pressure paid off and I went too deep and you left me for dead. Grats again to yourself and Robert.

Ooops - totally forgot about the tokens...

Tough track for me as I hadn't practiced and didn't know the track. Biggest challenge was not taking out the leaders. Biffed Ronnie up the exhaust pipes at one point after a masterly wobble off to let him through. Relieved to see he could continue... Sorry mate.

Enjoyed it although Doni and I seemed to be engaged in a 'Who can crash most?' contest.

No problem mate. Added to the fun and I probably needed a helping hand the way Clive was leaving me for dust  :laugh:
