Season 27 Professionals Trophy - Round 4 – East London

Round 5 of the Pro’s championship on a track which would historically been the season opener at Prince George Circuit at East London in South Africa (before the Grand Prix moved to Kyalami). The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

You braked a lot earlier than I was expecting and I clumped you. My bad, sorry. I got a screen freeze shortly afterwards for my sins.

Good luck to yourself and everyone still running.

Starting Lap03, my latency bar jumped as I entered T1 giving me not the greatest pass through there.  Coming off the straight for the hairpin moments later, a screen freeze.  :(

4 of us in chat with the same issue.
Shame as looked like it would be a good close race.  :(

Make that 5... entering the first hairpin 4th on lap 4 and the dreaded screen-freeze with increasing engine noise.

Also got screenfreeze and high pitched sound, exact moment as at least Jethro and Andy. We all, including Tim had the screenfreeze with high pitched sound.

A shame! 6 driver of 11 had a freeze!
Quote
Red Flag Situations

A race will be red flagged by the moderator only if at least half the drivers are disconnected from the server during lap one due to network problems. This may mean the race will have to be rescheduled due to time factors. Start line crashes will not be red flagged, no matter how many cars are involved.
In the event of a mass disconnection or other server problem the moderator may, at their discretion:
        reconstruct the result based on the replay, if available;
declare the race to be red flagged at the end of the preceding lap and take the final results from that lap; or
declare the race null and void and arrange for it to be run again.

Was such a great race I had with Tris, THX! Not the slightest mistake!
When I just touched the gras once Tris gained a little gap and kept it til the end ::)

MUMMA MIA!  Six of 11 starters canned on the same lap?!?!  I suggest that...

1. a re-run is in order or...

2. the event is ruled null and void due to force majeure.

I'd prefer the former.  I rather like the Prince George circuit.

I can't find any official rule (Phil Thornton will probably know) but there has been at least one previous occasion where 50% drivers were disconnected in a single incident & we have organised a re-run later in the season. This seems the fairest solution.
As far as I know East London is a very reliable track. It was just one of those things!

6 out of 11 at the same moment disconnected on Lap 3 at 4m15.770s server racetime, for some reason...personally I would prefer a re-run as well ofcourse, it would be harsh for Tristan and finishers though...

I was about to post here to apologise for not being there to race with you guys last night.....real life got in the way again  :-\

but it looks like I only missed a possible screen freeze??

It is always tough on those who battle on and complete the race and get there fingers on those valuable points if a "re-run" is decided upon.

But, I think that the rules are clear about mass discos and if 50% get booted off in the same incident.

Look under "Racing Etiquette".

In the event of a mass disconnection or other server problem the moderator may, at their discretion:
        reconstruct the result based on the replay, if available;

Got nudged off on lap one which meant I was well behind from then on. When I saw I had gone from 11th to 5th on lap 4 for an at that time unknown reason it was  from then on a car preservation exercise to get to the finish. One spin when I got the wrong gear waiting to be lapped but that was it otherwise it was no over revving & careful on the downshifts. How careful was I. Well I had 3 gallons of fuel left at the end. My first finish in the four races I have done this season

AND NOW IT LOOKS LIKE A RE RUN IS A POSSIBILITY!!!!!!. ::) Well I didn't want one at Monaco when me & three others got a bad deal starting half a lap behind & I definitely don't want one now. ;D

Hi :)   bad luck for the disco !....   I take a good start , a little bit better than Uli and then I turn the first corner in 3 rd position.....the feeling was good whith the full tank and put maxi pressure on Axel and overtake him at the last corner before the straight.......but then, I can't see Rob and I was thinking : whaouuu ! Rob is so quick that I can't see him on the sraight line ??!...... a quick look on Prib. tell me why !.....and Iwas also thinking that my turn will come soon 'cause I got many lags especialy from the braking point to the exit of the chicane  :o.....during this time to the end of the race , Axel put me under maximum  pressure and I'v no right to do a single mistake to keep the lead..... :P......well done Axel ;)....( better than Pacirace  ;D ).....
.......Of course, I was happy to wind, but I was clearely not the quickest and I can andestand the frustration specialy from Rob who normaly should win this one .  ......so if we have to re-race, it's ok for me .....

Appreciate it mate! :) You deserve a lot of respect, you're a great racer. You're one of these kind of drivers I can only beat with good preparation and 100% concentration...a combination hard to get right recently and hoped to deal with it yesterday... ::)

Before the race I really expected you and Uli to go into 24s, but it seemed I had an advantage which surprised me...even did 25.2 in clean air in quali (still .5s off the verified WR of BT11)...but really abusing revs, engine and gearbox...Axel seemed to be happy about it ;)

I was not happy about the mass disco, of course we have to re-run it ::)

But I had a tough race of 34 laps without a real mistake....

was not my day yesterday – I'm happy with my lucky third ...
its a mysterious track to me, don’t understand what makes you really fast here …
CONGRATS Tris to your fine first ferrari victory and naturally Axel, fantastic close and great racing!!! :notworthy:
Sorry for your bad luck all mass disco involved, unbelievable shame – gpl stone age ... ???
at the end of the first lap I rode into the green and found me back in 8th position
the following fight with Dean was my highlight of the event – THX to you Dean, and a big THX for your fantastic reaction  :thumbup1: when I made my risky attack at T1 - not really a good place for overtaking maneuvers ...
the rest was boring
hope to me and the most of us to have much more fun next race
cu there

Is this looking to be re-run after the Surfers Paradise Privateers race? Since that's the Sunday 4th, this could be Tuesday 6th?

Don't we also have a gap in two weeks, 23rd of December? Just a suggestion.
