Title: UKGPL Season 27 (2014) Formula Two Trophy - Pacific Raceways - Oct 5 Post by: Cookie on September 29, 2014, 10:15:15 AM +0100 Welcome to the S27 F2 Championship - Round 5 - Pacific Raceways
Round 5 of the Formula 2 Trophy will be hosted in Washington State on the west coast of the USA. The track has been used on a couple of occasions in the past but please make sure you have the 67 version – download from the link. It is typical of tracks built for Can Am muscle cars with a long, wide straight, an essess section & a dog-leg turn. Similar to Riverside but rather more green. The back part of the course is quite narrow. There will be no handicaps this season but, much like the 67-based series, tokens will be used! Matra MS7 FVA : 16 tokens Matra MS5 FVA : 14 tokens Brabham BT23 FVA : 14 tokens Lola T100 FVA : 14 tokens Lotus 48 FVA : 14 tokens Lotus 41B FVA: 12 tokens McLaren M4A FVA : 12 tokens Protos 16 FVA : 10 tokens Lola T100 BMW : 10 tokens Cooper T84 FVA : 6 tokens Ferrari 166 : 3 tokens Brabham BT14 LF : 0 tokens Please check the Season 27 pages for details (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=448&theme=6) regarding rules and the Formula 2 Trophy (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=455&theme=6) pages in particular. There will be two championships - Lights and Heavies (for slower drivers) who will contest separate championships but on the same grid. You have ONE SHIFT-R with a Stop n Go of 0 seconds! The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available. Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave a full (19 driver) server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join. If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left. I know that you will struggle to enjoy yourselves without me, but I'm equally sure that you will all try and be nice to each other too ;) Title: Re: UKGPL Season 27 (2014) Formula Two Trophy - Pacific Raceways - Oct 5 Post by: Robert Fleurke on September 30, 2014, 03:48:25 PM +0100 That's a shame Clive. Was looking forward to have another great battle here with you among others...

(Not that it would help much anyway) Cheers, Dave. All I have is Robert's target time in the various choices of cars.

Tried a few laps but cars just kept appearing out of no where. Apologies if I interrupted other drivers qualifying. Decided it was too unstable to risk for the race. Hope you have better luck. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 27 (2014) Formula Two Trophy - Pacific Raceways - Oct 5 Post by: Robert Fleurke on October 05, 2014, 10:44:36 PM +0100 A ragged quali, and couldn't better my PR I just had set in the practise session before...still pole, but a few cars pretty close, like Ray and Iestyn ;)
First few laps were great with Iestyn pushing me, until he made a mistake...then it was all about surviving, miscommunication with lapped cars and I went off...also about 4-5 cars spun or wrecked, mostly exiting the fast Esses, just in front of me! Heads up all the time, just taking no risks, and was able to dodge all bullets checking up ;) Last lap decided to let cars in front race eachother, was nothing to gain for me anymore, and didn't want to take risks...ragged race as well...well done Ray (some great laptimes) and Greg (great consistency) and finishers...commiserations as always for the retirements, and non-starters... Very emotional and special win though, my sister Ineke is officially 20 years missing today, so glad to pull this off for her (remembrance) and my mother (told her I would like to win especially this race)... Cheers guys and take care :) PS: @ Iestyn...T100 WR on Lap 9 8) With 1/1000s you took it from me :D But I took your Michigan Eagle time :P Title: Re: UKGPL Season 27 (2014) Formula Two Trophy - Pacific Raceways - Oct 5 Post by: Arf Arf Arf on October 06, 2014, 06:50:58 AM +0100 On Lap 1 I span avoiding others' incidents and found myself way back. The second if these forced me to shift-R, and soon the leaders were on my tail pipes. By Lap 7 I was lapped, and lost all motivation to be there, so went and did something more interesting instead.

Title: Re: UKGPL Season 27 (2014) Formula Two Trophy - Pacific Raceways - Oct 5 Post by: Turkey Machine on October 06, 2014, 06:57:45 PM +0100 Not sure I've had a worse race than that. Decent pre-race pace could not be replicated in qualifying. Start and lap 1 seemed OK, the rest was a race to forget. So unhappy with it, despite the good practice I had.
I do wonder what the point is sometimes. :( Title: Re: UKGPL Season 27 (2014) Formula Two Trophy - Pacific Raceways - Oct 5 Post by: Doni Yourth on October 06, 2014, 09:54:27 PM +0100 A bitter-sweet victory for you, Robert. Tears of joy mixed with tears of sadness for your long-lost sister. I offer congratulations on your victory and deep sympathy for your pain.
