Did two quali runs and got pole with a PR, always good :)

Start went well, but heard all sorts of engines close behind towards Stowe. I think Uli made a little mistake in Abbey; then I pushed the first few laps and was able to gradually increase the gap. Ran a very consistent race even to my own standards  ;)

Good job Uli and Axel from P7, nice fight with Iestyn, who did a fabulous job in the Cooper! Also well done finishers and naturally commiserations to the retirements...

Grats to Robert and Uli!

As I had some problems with Silvy in the past, I had chosen to use a very conservative setup.
So my Quali pace was just what I would be able to do in the race...

Not the best start and when Greg spun in Becketts I surprised Jethro being too carefull  ;D
A push into the gras let me loose some more places and an exciting catch up race began.
My pace was good and after some laps I had caught Dean and Iestyn fighting for 3rd.
When Dean ran wide I was left alone with this incredible fast Cooper that had to be beaten with a Lotus  :P
It needed some laps until Iestyn did some small mistakes and I could pass.
Then some more mistakes made my gap grow to ~300m, but my fuel counter reminded me to not push much any longer.
On the finish line I had 1.4 litres left and Iestyn close in my back

Serves me for trying to cool myself down....

After some errors put me several seconds behind, plum last, I remembered I'd not put the fan on. Attempting to do this on the S/F straight, I ended up veering off at Copse and overturning.

Serves me.... :( :( :(

What a fine race yesterday. I‘m very happy with my 2nd place.
Even if I had no fuel probs I would have had no chance to win – Robert was a class of it‘s own here …
But for me and I think for Robert too it was a bit boring …
Not so for the rest as I could see in the replay!
Congrats to your fantastic fights Axel, Iestny, Clive, Tim, Tristan, Dean and Andy – also will have next time ;D
Really great, worth to see!!!
Congrats to you Robert and Axel, to all fighters and finishers!

LOL, Jethro!  So I'm not the only one who's committed that very gaffe!

Great drives from Robert and Iestyn!

Nice to know I'm in good company. There were some choice words muttered under my breath but one must look past the mist and see the grass on the other side, even if it may be in the next county...

I always attempt to have an electric fan blowing my way during a sim race.  Sometimes I forget and at some point, realize this and wait for a decently long straightaway to reach round the back of my chair and hit the go button.  It can be fraught with danger.

This may come from a 50-year old habit of always having a fan blow over me when I go to bed.  Back then, my family moved to a new house just outside Bowmanville(20 minutes from Mosport)that was located on a busy highway.  The noise of cars constantly rushing by made it difficult to get to sleep.  I started to use an electric fan to drown out the traffic with the 'white noise' of the fan.  Worked a charm.  Now, I can't get to sleep without one, not even in the middle of February when it's -25°C!  :)
