Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read

If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Note early race start time! Drivers shall not change cars during qualifying. Track reloaded at lap 8!

I managed a 1:41.7 in the Lotus.  I dont think I got a perfect lap in though.  Just need some consistency  ::) 

Is that a fellow "ex" Waza I see??? I hope you can join in a few more of the races here Ben.

FWIW I just tried the Elan around Oulton Island ( geez that sounds like a cheezy American soap opera!!) and clocked a 1:38 after 6 laps of trying. My biggest problem was cold tyres that refused to warm up!

No time for the brutal TVR, but if previous races are anything to go by what the Elan gains through the corners, the TVR grabs back on the straights.

Yes.  And It works offline.. I got a 1:41.7 last night.  Strange.  Maybe I will try and host it and see what happens

Oh dear, offline GTL crashes.. I will try and install the track again.

I have installed the track again.  Works offline.   Still says track not installed online though.  Weird.    It would not let me host (greyed out)  very strange

I have got a folder called Oulton, then 2 sub folders called Oultonfosters and OultonIsland 8 items inside these 2 folders, and 10 files inside the main Oulton folder.  Is this the same as everyone else?

That does look right. And the folder Oulton is in the Locations folder?

Very odd. Is your GTL set to the hardest level e.g. Professional?

The GTL server is now down due to tonight's P&G event but it will be back when that has finished.

How do I set it to Professional for Online? ?     I normally play offline on Semi Pro.

It's the screen after choosing which car your taking. This screen only appears in offline mode.

EDIT: Don't think this is the answer. I just set my offline game to semi-pro but still managed to join online ok. GTL must take the online skill level automatically.

Can someone else confirm that they can join online ok?

I was on yesterday briefly, to make sure I practiced on the right track.  I didn't have any problems.  Misnoimis joined too while I was there. He mentioned a 'mismatch' error I believe, but was apparently able to solve it.

I can see it in the lobby but when I clicked "Join" nothing happened.

I see the car choice still shows the AMV8 cars for Oulton Island, not the Griffith or Elan, but this shouldn't stop you from at least joining the server. I have joined with no problems.

Nope. I click on Join and it goes grey but nothing happens and the Join click area goes back to white after a while  ???

I think the AMV8 cars are showing as they are on your PC. I only see Lotus and TVR.

I did come out and start it again just using Lotus and TVR.  It's a little strange though.  Does it matter I am using Steam?

Other drivers here use the Steam download and Matt provides a backup race server so I don't think that's a problem tho?

I'm off to the dentist now but at least I have something to think over whilst my treatment takes place.

Install the game out of PROGRAM FILES. something like C:\Gt Legends or so.
Run everything as ADMIN, Everything
Download the 4GB patch and apply it to the executable

All ok now.

I have moved my GTL folder to C: now instead of the system directory.  I can join other tracks online just not oulton.  Maybe I could get a list of all the exact files in the Oulton folder from someone and sizes!?  or maybe even a zipped exact copy to transfer to my pc?

I have had several installations of GTL in Win7. Because of us using different lobby servers in the past, I am
currently running a steam downloaded version with no issues at all. I can stick any directories
or files you want on my little ftp server if needed. Just PM me.

And I can join the Normal, and my test server with these cars no problems

I have just rebooted my router and my connection is back to normal.  Just downloaded Oulton from Altbierbude.   I will try to join again.

Must be something to do with online settings.  I can play OultonIsland offline no problems at all, just that it says "Cannot join game - Track Not Installed" when I try and join online.  Maybe I will leave this round and start next week

Have you set GTL to run as admin yet?

I had a problem message saying mismatch when I joined for the same reason as  Coyote  to see if I had the correct track. I found it was due to a differently named Oulton folder containing what seemed to be exactly the same track. When I deleted this the newly installed download worked fine.
 
As the problem seems to be track related it may be worth checking that you don’t have another version of the track installed. If so try deleting  all Oulton folders and reinstall the SimRacing.org.uk  file from their  link.

Back to using a Driving Force GT as G27 went up in smoke yesterday, one upside got plenty of buttons to play with and a  sequential shifter, just got to set it up and get used to.

 Poss help with Oulton Park is there a nvidia adjustment to get read of the Psychedelic effect the horizontal railings are giving me or is that norm for this track?

I have re-installed GTL.    Just registered another username and password.  I can join Monza GP for CG PUBLIC TC-65, although all the other servers Monza GP servers,  www.altbier etc ones I get cannot join - Track not installed for Monza GP.  A little weird   Is this normal?

Hmm   I installed Oulton and now the Monza's have changed into Oultons..  very weird  Maybe if you have not got the track it shows as Monza GP instead

I think Monza GP ist a GTL standard track which is installed at GC public server - so you can join.
On Altbierbude there is another track installed which you don't have on your machine - so you only see Monza GP
on Altbierbude and all the others. After installing Oulton you see Oulton on all servers which are just using other
tracks.

Should work with Oulton after UKGTR's Sunday's event has been finished and server is up for GTL again.
Try again later.

Kurt is right. The other tracks showing as Oulton actually aren't. They are running tracks that you do not have installed and this confuses the lobby so it shows a track that you do have instead. Dunno why but it's always been this way.

PROBLEM WITH TRACK. NOW SWITCHED TO DONINGTON NATIONAL

Connected Donnington did 1 lap went for pee came back and race had started, what you could call a bit pi--ed off.

I got “TRACK NOT INSTALLED” message. I knew it was so left and restarted GTL and there it was. The race had started before I could re-join. Pi**ed off 2.

It just goes to show what a good sever host you are Tony, 99.9% of the time  :)

I actually enjoyed this evening. The wife is away so no peering over my shoulder wondering how many more laps to go  :D  and I was at least able to practice my driving skills carrying serious front end damage for the best part of 22 of the 24 laps (more if you include my off at Oulton)  :laugh:

I just managed to join Race 2 at Donnington so had some fun. A pity about the problems at Oulton. These things happen. I think most got some enjoyment out of the evening.  :thumbup1:

We have raced Oulton (Island) several times in the past and never had a problem. Tonight the track decided to quit out and begin reloading itself at lap 8?

These things are very hard to cater for. Fortunately the substitute track was about the same length so fuel was not a problem. We were due to use Donington later on in the season but now I'll find another track to run. Apologies to all those who suffered difficulties joining/racing tonight and also sorry for the late night.

3 funny races yesterday.
Bit by bit understanding better the behavior of TVR and I've got a fairly stable and easy to drive setup.
Damn "loading track" in first race.  :o
Fortunately knew Donington. A couple of laps and I remembered the tricks and points where you have to be careful.
I tried don't make mistakes in both races and finally I got the win in 2 races.

Messed up the Oulton race myself, nudged someone somewhere as they got wobbly
then went wildly snaking all over the road out of deers leap and decided to bin in
Was surprised to rejoin shortly after and be at Donington :o
Had two good races. I don't enjoy these cars much, they won't turn in, and won't stop
in a straight line! loads of coast diff etc but still hard to drive for me.
I can't play the replays as I get a CTD with either of them.

I was running late yesterday and fired up the pc for race two. But it seemed at that time you guys where still racing, so i could not join in the fun. Hope you hade a good one. See you all next race.

Well that was different!!!!!!!!!!

When I had all my freezing problems I seem to have lost the cheat "unlock all tracks" (leaving me with just the initial GTL unlocked tracks)  sorting it out has defied all my efforts!  At least my GTL master is OK but I can't face up to starting again with Season 15 but perhaps I'll start my Season 16 with just the basic installation and when we use it again (in Season 15)  install the relevant car pack.

Much to my surprise online I am able to use Donni Nat, my favorite track. Have not driven there for what seems like an age so  I took a while to sort myself out - pleased to finish with a race fastest lap near to the other mortals.  ;D

By the time we got on to the TVR I was knackered so left you folks to it.  :yawn: :rockon:

The Oulton race quickly developed into a duel with Bill G.  First I was ahead, but when I understeered onto the grass in a corner, he of course got past.  Some hard work reeled him back in - more or less, and I was chasing hard after him, when the server decided to burp..

Bit of a mad panic to get ready for the Donington races.  Fortunately it's been my regular test track, so know it very well.  Still, haven't run my present TVR setup there before, and don't think I've ever used an Elan in anger there. Had to sort the final drives in the very few available practice laps, but made it in time.

In the first Donington race, Bill muscled through at the start, and presto; we could continue exactly where we let off in the Oulton race. One difference though was, that at Oulton I could relax regarding cars behind me, as I had a good gap. Not so on Donington, where Hayman was snapping at my heels right from the get go.

Flash up front fell off, and later Bill made one of his seemingly rare mistakes, allowing me to slip past. Thus I was unexpectedly in 2nd.  Still had Hayman very hard on my case. Had to drive the wheelnuts off the TVR, to keep his Elan behind me.  A most intense race indeed. Hope I wasn't being unfair when I went for the racing line, and inadvertently slammed the door on him a few times. After seeing the replay, there were a couple of times where I probably would have given him more room, had I realised at the time how fast he was approaching.

After what seemed like a heroic brake manoeuvre, to avoid hitting me, he dropped back a little.  Then my old adversary; Bill G was suddenly in the mirrors again, so he must have gotten past Hayman. Figured I should be able to stay ahead for the few remaining laps, if I could maintain a decent pace and avoid stupid mistakes. Held to the end and I got a most unexpected 2nd place.

2nd Donington race started almost as the first, with me chasing Bill G again. Later I lost some places and then spun the car several times. Aside from a slowly disappearing Misnoimis in my mirrors, no one else was around.  Thus the 2nd half of the race was strangely anti climatic, compared to all the intense racing previously.  Profited a little from others problems, to finish 4th.

Grats to Jose on two convincing victories!

Bill, Donington National is a standard track that comes with GTL. That's why I chose it as I assumed everyone a) would have it installed and b) everyone would have a good idea of it's layout.

Firstly, kudos to Tony for keeping the evening rolling when the server threw a curved ball at Oulton ... well done Sir  :)

I was having a great duel with Erling at Oulton until the server decided enough was enough. Ending up at Donington without practice or a setup seemed a challenge but it was the same for everyone so ... game on ! Donington race 1 started with a good scrap with Erling until I dropped it at Coppice. I rejoined in P5 and I gradually made my way past Matt then Hayman to end the race in P3. Race 2 turned into an epic struggle with Hayman which lasted for many laps, his TVR outrunning me on the straights and my Elan making up lots of ground in the corners. He finally ran slightly wide and I capitalised on the error, banging in a couple of laps which were absolutely on the ragged edge and I managed to open up a gap.  This gave me P2 and I was able to maintain it until the end. Fantastic driving, guys ... thank you   :D

Flash was lagging a lot at Donington.

Simply too tired for changing my mind from Oulton to Donington.

Sorry Bill for the heavy contact at the end of lap 1 during race 1 at Donington  :o

BTW any chance of Goodwood as a replacement track now we have used Donington? If not I’m sure you will turn up something exciting.

Quoting myself here, but having re-read my own comment it looks like I was criticisng you Tony. I just wanted to clarify that you are a fantastic server host 100% of the time  :) and that you dealt with last nights hiccups very well.

Goodwood is one of my favourite circuits ever, so I'm happy to consider it for this series. Thanks for the input  :thumbup1:
