Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Note early race start time! Drivers shall not change cars during qualifying.

I think your 2nd Championship place is safe  ;)

Looks that way, and my chances of snatching 1st place are beyond hypothetical, so nothing to lose  ;)   Still though, would have liked to do the races, just for fun  :)

Cheers,
Erling

That was interesting couple of races.  R1 went about normal in the TVR.  R2 was something else, on the second lap on T1 my wheel comes loose and ends in my lap.  Slips it back on the desk and tightens it up, but lost a bunch of time in the spin and firing up the motor.  After that just drove the track, but on the last lap spun again.  Note to self. always check clamps before every race.
Grats to Jose for the championship.  Thanks to Tony for organizing the series and the rest of the drivers for a fun season....

Rather enjoyed those races. I don't usually get on well with the Elan and TVR, but they seemed to drive well here
Could not keep up with the TVRs in my Elan in race 1, but was well placed in Race 2 with the TVR
Had some fun close racing with a few people, came a cropper twice in Copse, once trying to stay up the inside
of someone only to have the door closed and went into the fence, then with Clive? or Geoffers? touched one of those
posts on the inside of woodcote, and they didn't move  :o so ended up spinning, and having to chase and
catch again.

Had some good battles with folk before my usual habit of spinning of in new and interesting areas of the circuit manifested itself. For me this series was the suprise of the year.

Grats to Jose, Erling and Matt on collecting the trophies.

Thanks to Tony for organising and thanks to all for some great racing.

Yes, when you tested those little plastic posts, that was me behind you Matt.

In race 1 Geoffers pulled the same diversionary tactic at Woodcote, sending his car flying across the track in front of me. Fortunately I was just far enough back ( a deliberate move on my part of course, and not because I could not keep up!  ::) ) That promoted me to 2nd which I just had to bring home, there being no chance of catching Ati unless he made a rare mistake. He was always 0.5-1 secs a lap quicker when he needed it.
Then In race 2 I tried to stay close to Matt's TVR in the early laps and hassle him a bit through the corners with my Elan. When he launched his car across the track at Woodcote I had to take avoiding action and ran wide onto the grass. That allowed Ziu to sneak past.
Ziu and myself were almost exactly matched on pace, and I just could not close the gap and eventually ended up pushing just a fraction too hard and lost the rear. The spin allowed a fast recovering Matt to steal 3rd spot and I ran in 4th.
I think this was the first race where I felt that the setup I had was driveable and competitive, I might take a look at ATi's online offering to see how mine compares.
Great fun racing these 2 cars with different characteristics but similar lap time potential, I just found switching driving style difficult between races. But I guess that was the intention??  lol

I knew there must have been a reason why you were not keeping up with me in the first race Clive!

Just clipped a post at Woodcote & it sent me spearing off track. Managed to get back on after slithering around on the grass for what seemed like half an hour only to find that I had passed the S/F line whilst off the track & that lap hadn't been counted  >:(.

2nd race in the Elan was quite enjoyable, battling with Tony & Matt at different times, but I was just too slow. In fact the lack of straight line speed compared to other Elans reminded me that I need to have a look at my pedals, as the throttle is very stuttery throughout the range & sometimes doesn't get to full throttle. Never really seemed to hinder me much before, but with the Elan on the Club (Wellington) Straight it was really noticeable.

Congrats to Ati on winning both races & also to Jose for winning the championship.

Race1

I drove the TVR. I think I was not cautious enough in T2 as I had to adjust my line into T3 slightly due to what was going on around me and the back stepped out. I recovered it but the loss of momentum put me in harm’s way and I got the inevitable tap that span me onto the grass. I rejoined plumb last with the race disappearing into the distance but had fun chasing and passing some Lotuses. I had left myself too much to do to compete with any of the fit TVR’s and just did not have the speed so in the end finished sixth.

Race2

The Lotus was nice to drive, the only problem was it felt like I still had the brakes on, I was lapping about a second a lap slower than I was in offline practice a couple of days previously. Maybe it was the result of the Golf Competition I played in the morning or the Christmas Lunch and the wine I had afterwards. The fastest drivers certainly got these cars to go very well. Good fun but I felt rather lonely in finishing a slow but steady seventh.

Big congrats to champion and runners up and big thanks to Tony for organising the events.
