Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Free choice of car.

Unfortunately I won’t be able to race this evening as I have friends visiting. A pity because I now know the track and the cars. At least my back is better now (fingers crossed). I still have to resolve the slipping peddle unit issue when racing on-line.

I did a practice session off-line yesterday in the Javelin and managed a 1:42.4. I’m sure I could go a bit quicker with more practice.

I hope all enjoy their race and hope to be present next week. :thumbup1:

Well done the podium, whoever you were, but you left the game so quickly after crossing the finish line I wasn't able to pass on any grats!

Some good close racing mid-table for quite a few laps. ;) I just couldn't get enough momentum on the straights to pass you Tony, until your spin towards the end. But then you passed me, along with two others with a few 100 yds to go - I forgot to add my usual 10% of fuel into the tank, so I shouldn't be surprised that I ran dry, albeit with just a 1/3 of a lap to go. :-[ But overall, a very enjoyable race. And I didn't get lapped this time!

Had my share of disco's due to a bad internet connection on my side. After the 3rd disco in qually i desided to restart my router and pc. But then i got to the lobby only to see the race had started already... :( really gutted as i had a good race pace (yes i actualy had some practice for this one) Oh well, hope you guys had a good race anyway. Congrats to the podium and a solid result by Roguk! :thumbup2:

To bad i can't do the TVR vs Lotus race (again! This is possibly my favourite class, but can't seem to make most of the races so far.) as i am away for the whole of next week. ::)

Thanks a lot José  :thumbup1:

Another a bit disappointing finish for me - simply impossible to beat the 1:43  :P . 2 minutes before the start I found an online setup
for a Charger which I simply adapted for the Cuda  ::). Made it easier to drive but unfortunately without any further progress in times  :(
After an unusual good start I could avoid all the mess and found myself in 4th position  :o  which I lost during the next three laps.
Then I had my first off and dropped to my well known second to last position where I stayed for the rest of the race.

Well that was an exercise in frustration management.

Improved my pb considerably in qual, but still only good enough for 6th on the grid.

Start and L1 went ok until the chicane, when Hayman knocked me into a spin and down to the bottom of the field. As he waited for me to pass, I had to go around on the outside, and ran wide onto the grass losing even more time..  :censored:

Set about chasing the field.  Got past Bill and later Kurt, when they went off.  Next passed Steve at the end of the straight.  Following lap, in the same place, Tony and I had a 'who-can-brake-last' duel.  Tony won - and I got past  ;)

Next up was Matt, but he made it easy, when he went off at the end of the straight.  Thus I was up to 5th, but then I ran into Roger.  Knew from last years V8-series how difficult he can be to pass, and he was more than up to form yesterday. Under power his car was faster than mine, and so would extend a small gap in the straight sections. Thus any attempts at slipstreaming or outbraking were out of the question.  Through the curves, you can only pass if the driver ahead makes a sufficiently big mistake, but Roger stubbornly refused to comply!

Lap after lap after lap, all I could do was yank my hair out in big lumps, as I watched Tony & Co slowly reel me in again.  Eventually he got close, and past, when a light tap to Roger's rear sent my car wide through the corner after the chicane.  Tony didn't have more luck with Roger, so now I was stuck behind the two of them.

Soon had Hayman in close attendance behind me, and after a number of close laps, he ran us both off again - thankfully without losing as much time as before. Seems we both rejoined rather rudely in front of Matt - apologies for that   A few corners later, we came upon a spinning Tony. Narrowly avoided his car, and for a change had a clear track ahead. Managed to extend a tiny gap to Hayman, but then I caught Roger once more, and status quo ensued. That allowed Hayman to close up again, but after some close laps, he spun off - I believe he hit one of those titanium corner poles ?

Matt replaced him, but didn't get too close before the race ended.  Congrats to the podium - and to Roger for that matter, for not bending under all that pressure.

Cheers,
Erling

It was not looking too good in quali and my lack of any preparation was obvious with the front row some 2 secs a lap quicker than I could squeeze out of the 'cuda.  I ended up on the second row, but only by the smallest of margins with Matt supposedly alongside in 3rd qually position. This was shaping up to be a tough race.

The front row shot away at the start and I just tried to hang in there for the first laps. ( not sure what happened to Matt??) When I eventually risked a glance at the positions it was to discover that I was in 3rd and with a healthy couple of seconds back to 4th.

Jose and his shadow Marc, were setting a tremendous pace and I was surprised that I could stay in touch, although I was driving at my limit to be there. The scrap in front of me was intense, and I actually dropped back a second or so as contact between them looked certain at some point... and I might just profit if I did not get caught up in any action  ;). But, somehow the two of them maintained an incredible pace at very close quarters without contact  :notworthy:, when contact looked like the only possible outcome!!

I stayed with them until about half distance when I realised that I had been abusing the tyres terribly to drive at that pace. With a 20 second gap back to 4th, and still the possibility that the front 2 would take each other off, I eased up.
Gradually the lead 2 pulled away and the cars behind dropped back, so my race became increasingly lonely, and just like Roger who was defending his 4th place, Jose and Marc up front refused to run each other off the road, or make a mistake. ALthough Marc found a way past Jose at some point, so maybe there was a small mistake in there somewhere?

I did wonder if I would get caught as my tyres wore down to the rims, but it looks like everyone else had similar problems because the gaps stayed more or less the same.
Grats to Marc and Jose  on a stunningly fast pace and close quarter driving, and well done Rog for holding it all together as various opponents tried to steal 4th place. I was watching the procession of cars in 5th place, and the gap between them and Rog, for the second half of the race. It was obviously very close at times!!

What a fantastic nights racing!
Great cars, tricky circuit and some skilled drivers who can run bumper to bumper for lap after lap without taking each other out. That's what I call top drawer sim-racing.

Had some good dices myself. First few laps I found myself high up the order and following Erling as he tried to pass the very wide Roger. Stayed close hoping that they would take each other out. That didn't happen but a small mistake at the hairpin after the chicane let me squeeze past Erling. "Ha", i thought, "now I'll show Erling how you pass other drivers". But it was not to be. Roger just got wider and wider and did not make a single mistake for all of the laps that I followed him, and boy did I try hard to pass him. Eventually my tyres let go, I span and the world and his wife passed me by. I was fuming! Small consolation passing the luckless Steve who had parked up after suffering a fuel deficiency.
Looked like most of you had some good racing too. More like that one please  :thumbup1:

I was 3rd on the grid, but made a poor start and then got shoved almost off track in T1, and followed
Hayman and Erling in the grassy 1st chicane incident. Had some good times catching and passing
people, then came up behind the famous "Roger Roadblock" I might have made a pass stick if I had
counted the correct marker post to brake at  :o but was wrong sighted, and one pole too late and went flying
off at the end of the straight  :taz: regained the track only to find I had jumped back in Kurt's way and got a
deserved thump for my rudeness, not sure the second thump was warranted  ::) but hey such is racing
The car was by now quite "modified" no front splitter, some creative extra curves and tyres well into the red
so was sort of catching the bunch in front, but had to take advantage of others' misfortunes to get a place back
Top marks to Roger for not being spooked by all these cars diving around in his mirrors  :thumbup1:

...regained the track only to find I had jumped back in Kurt's way and got a

;) don't understand the exact meaning of "warranted" but the second one was not with intent - just saw a
small gap to pass. However sorry for that bump, Matt. You were the faster guy and with my considerably
decreasing tyres I wouldn't have had a single chance.

Sorry I missed this one guys.  My wife was cleared for a car trip so we took a long weekend and drove to Colorado to visit family.  Friday weather was great but the rest of the weekend was terrible with fog, drizzle and low clouds. Young people went up the mountains and did some snow boarding but us oldies stayed down.
See you all at Thrustron .........Oh yes if you didn't get enough of this track the GC-Muscle car guys are racing there Saturday.  One hour race with a pit stop.....

OOPS: Messes up, it's Limerock this Saturday, Mid Ohio is May 16th!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have not looked at any replays, but was I responsible for Matt's "shoved off at T1"?

Huge apologies if I carved you up Matt, it was certainly not intentional and I did not see anyone in my mirrors and I was wholly focused on the flying duo ahead.

A little explanation. Marc (MaiPor), Dario (De Martini) and I are friends for a long time and we live in same city. So when we run together we use Teamspeak. It is very easy to give warnings about where is each of us. Messages like: I'm behind you, I'm on your right, I'm on your left, don't worry for the moment I will not try to overtake, etc. So it's to easy keep calm and don't make mistakes.

Report race:
The race was fun. Great fight throughout the race with my friend Marc. In the first few laps were a group of 3. Clive very close to us. Gradually our gap was increasing and Marc and I were alone in the front of the race.

In lap 12 my tires were very badly. I asked Marc what about his tires? and told me that his tires were good. I thought it would be very difficult to keep in front of the race. In lap 15, at the end of the long straight, I left an open door and Marc went through my right. I tried to keep up to be more comfortable and not punishing both the tires but it was impossible to fight for the victory.

Great win Marc. Great job my friend.

Thank you all for run.

Cheers!
