Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: The most popular car will be dropped for the remainder of this series.

Hope I can make this one.  Am going on a real life driving adventure in Scotland, together with 5 of the usual Porsche suspects. Leaving our own cars at home though, and have rented some British classics instead: a Jaguar E, a Caterham, a Triumph TR-6 and a Triumph Stag (wanted a Healey, but it was reserved by someone else)

It will be my first experience with left-side driving and shifting. Must admit I'm getting increasingly apprehensive  :o

Flying to Edinburgh tomorrow afternoon and should be back Monday, hopefully early enough to make the race.  Please keep your fingers crossed for us..  :)

Cheers,
Erling

The roads and scenary are fantastic Erling. The travel company I use do something sililar where you can hire classic cars. I must admit I'm tempted by an E-Type  :tt1:

Let us know how you get on.

Have travelled much of the west coast but never in a classic. I'm just a little envious :)

I looked at a site that hires out "classic cars" maybe the same one, and one of the choices was an Austin Allegro  :o
Now they may be old, but "classic" is not a word that comes to mind when talking about Allegros.. eeeek.

Quick sitrep:

In Inverness now.  Have driven Jag & Caterham today, and co-driven Stag.

Jag; nice, but to be honest, it looks better than it drives. A 4.2, but doesn't really feel that big - guzzling fuel though :-)

Caterham; intense, with telepathic steering.
Very uncomfortable and not easy to get in and out of..

Stag sounds eye-wateringly good. Whatever bad stuff is said about it, is forgiven as soon as you hear it :-)

Left-hand driving and shifting has fortunately gone better than feared.

Cheers,
Erling

Sounds good Erling. I have always found that driving on the wrong side of the road on "The Continent" is easier with the correct car for the country.

I noticed that I had done some practice on the wrong Bridgehampton (Bridgehampton 67) :stupid:so I may drop out of this race if too slow.

Apologies Kurt, it was all my fault carried too much speed into the corner.  After you retired I quit in disgust at having spoilt your night's racing.  :nono:

Having set my car up for Bridgehampton 67 and got down to 1:46’s I found the set did not work at all for this version of the track. The Javelin was hopeless to drive. Maybe I should have tried the default set up but didn’t think of that. I kept trying to modify the one I saved. I struggled round for a few laps, noticed my XD other car position times had got corrupted and all showed 0.00. Then got distracted by an unexpected Track Cut message and went off the track. Guess I shouldn’t have bothered having practiced on the wrong track. Note to self: - Pay attention to Race Post details.

Hope others enjoyed their race. Congrats to winner and podiums.

Once again my inability to sort out fuel and understand the display screw my race. Running steady in 2nd spot keeping Erling at a safe distance   ;) after Ati dropped into the pits.

Jose was way ahead and clear, so all I had to do was cruise it home for some champagne....bah humbug!!!!  Good race though and I really enjoy throwing these tanks around....thanks Tony.

Sorry Bill - didn't intend to ruin your race. All mixed up yesterday.

Was missing 5 seconds to Ati's pole, using his online setup  ??? Nothing more to say.

Report race.

Incredible Ati's laptime. Luckily my start was better and I got a little gap because Ati and MaiPor had a good battle and I had a way free  ;)
About lap 4 or 5 MaiPor was off road and Ati close the gap with me. I tried push hard to avoid he caught my slipstream. Surprisly my gap up to 8 seconds and after that only tried to keep calm and don't make mistakes.
Finally a surprisingly comfortable victory.  ;D

Thanks all for race!

Grats Erling and Bob for the pod. Oldgeezer, you had 2 podiums I think. Bravo!  ;)

Grats all finishers!

Cheers

Lack of practise  :nono: here mean't I was way of pace. And two/three excursions thru the sand dunes left me floundering at the back. But made up some spaces due to others giving up. Shame the race wasn't longer as I was just beginning to get some decent lap times in when the race finished.
Looks like there where some good race long battles going on.

Always a challenge to stay on track here, and for once I think I had few "unforced errors"
lost several places at the start as the car in front didn't go on the "GO", and then was bumped and banged from both sides as I tried
to get around it. Then had some fun with Flash as he tried an ambitious pass up the inside at T1  :o was not expecting that one
then I got in his way at T3 and we both had to wait. then managed to catch and pass Postal, at least twice  ;D
went off to avoid contact and dropped even further back, still, a good race. See what happens in the P&G one Thursday
maybe I will be more practiced now

Just home in time from Scotland to do the race, but not much time to practice for this one. Only had time to try two cars last week.  Surprisingly, the Challenger was faster than the Camaro for me, while it's been the other way round in the previous 3 races.

Had done a 43.8 lap in earlier practice, but couldn't quite match that on race day.  Started 6th and had an almost race long battle with Bob.  He got past when I made a mistake in the Lightbulb corner.  Had gained places from others mistakes and was running 4th, but dropped to 5th.  Couldn't let Bob get away and Dana was close behind, so concentrated driving was required.

Reclaimed 4th when Bob made a mistake.  Gap extended a little, and I got my position uprated to 3rd, by Ati's exit.  Was 9 secs ahead of Bob and 4 secs behind Clive, when I made a mistake in the Valley of the Lefts - put a rear wheel outside track and promptly went into a long, uncatchable slide.  Didn't spin, but gaps were reversed - now 9 secs behind Clive and only 4 secs ahead of Bob and the rest of the pack chasing me..  :sweatdrop:

Managed to hang on to the finish and got uprated again by Clive's untimely exit, to finish 2nd.

Very chuffed about this of course.  Grats to Jose for the win and a very convincing drive, and commiserations to those who fell off along the way.

Loved the track; especially the fast T1 and T2 - thanks to Tony for a great pick, and to Bob for a great and fair race!

Cheers,
Erling
