Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: The most popular car will be dropped for the remainder of this series.

No last place is a mine 2:41.?  Mha ha ha ha

Have been putting in some extra practice this week as RA is a new circuit for me. The Javelin seems to best suit my driving and with race fuel I'm also doing 2:41's. Did manage a 2:39 once but cannot seem to repeat it.

Hmm, last year's cars were faster - must be the '70s demise of the musclecars setting in..  ;)

Cheers,
Erling

I think I missed this circuit last year, it was to be my first race with GTL but ( as usual) I screwed up the car groups and it never happened.

Downloaded the track ( again!! just to be sure  ;) ) and did a few recce laps on Sunday. Judging by the comments already posted anything sub 2:40 looks reasonable?..................After my 3 laps that seems a long way off ATM  :-\  I had problems with some corners that appeared to be tighter than I wanted them to be LOL and the grass was offering zero traction!

Hope I get the chance to do a few laps before the race tonight.  :-\

Today's golf called off so I’m back in good time to race for once.  Had virtually no practice but I have raced on this track before, it will probably make no difference though so I will be joining the battle for last place. ;D

Replay and results now posted.

Equal number of Javelin's and Camaro's. But we lose the Camaro's due to it finishing highest .  :'(

Hi guys!

Damn 2nd lap. I did lost the brake point and I hit Marc. So sorry mate. Fortunately you won the race. Good!  :D

After my mistake I let pass all the group and go down to last place. But funny race trying to gain some positions. Finally 4th in agonic last lap with Bob.  ;)

Grats Marc, Geoffers and Erling for the pod.

Thanks all.

I had high hopes of being poor here and I didn't disappoint. Best moments were the excellent three way dogfight with Kurt and Hayman. That aside it was a rather dull affair. Car felt like I was driving with the handbrake on. Ho-hum. It can only get better.
Championship is looking a bit tasty tho.

Quite fond of Road America; it seems to suit these cars well.

Improved my pb in qual, but in this company, it only got me 4th on the grid.  Had Clive behind or rather next to me.  Had no doubt he would jump me at the start as usual. However, to my unashamed delight, Geoffers bogged down at the start, not only allowing me to slip into 3rd, but also thwarting Clive's evil plan..  ;D (Cheque's in the mail Geoff..  :whistling:)

Had Bob behind me, and at the start of lap 2, I couldn't prevent him from squeezing past me, with some slipstreaming and the apparent better straight line speed of his Ford.  At T1, MaiPor and Jose had a disagreement, and both were off, so Bob and I sailed into first and second respectively. Next lap, at T3, an out-of-control Geoffers sent me temporarily off, allowing MaiPor through (Cheque's revoked..).  Rejoined 3rd, but next lap, same place, I took myself out, letting Geoffers past.

Now 4th, I had Matt as a close shadow over the following laps.  Gradually extended the gap, when he had a moment here or there.  Around half race, Bob had fallen back and I was chasing him as hard as I could. He's normally very consistent and doesn't make many errors, but looked to be on the edge - and over at times. Maybe his tires were shot and an opportunity might arise ?  Did so late in the race, when he went wide at T2, allowing me to steal 3rd.  Could cruise home on the last couple of laps, not wanting to risk anything.

Grats to MaiPor & Geoffers - and kudos to Bob for retaining the lead for almost half the race  :thumbup1:.  Will be missing the Camaro though..  :'(

Cheers,
Erling

A bit of a damp evening in my part of England, so I thought I would pop in & have a bit of fun with you guys. However things didn't quite go to plan  ::). Downloaded & installed the cars & track OK & did a few practice laps offline to get some sort of setup. But as I hadn't raced GTL here for sometime, when I went to join the server, I couldn't, had the wrong lobby file! By the time I got it all sorted qually had started.

Started 3rd & as Erling said bogged down off the line, far too few revs, & held up Clive behind, sorry Clive. 5th at the end of lap 1 became 3rd as MaiPor & Jose went off at T1 & I was chasing Bob & Erling for a couple of laps until losing it under braking for T3 & collecting Erling, apologies Erling. MaiPor went by as we sorted ourselves out & I got 3rd back a lap later when Erling messed up T3 all by himself.

Managed to reel in the two leaders & took Bob for 2nd around half distance. Chased MaiPor & got quite close a couple of times only to nearly spin at the LHer under the bridge with 3 laps left. Gap was now up to 4.5s so any chance of the win was now gone, so I thought. Then 3 corners from home MaiPor spun off & I sailed past into the lead  ;D, only to inexplicably change into top far too early up the hill to the finish & lose drive & the win  ::).

Congrats to Marc, very well driven, & to Erling in 3rd.

Very enjoyable race, I will have to drop in more often. Cheers guys, see you again soon.  :thumbup2:

I think I need a brain transplant!

I did suspect that a plain brown envelope had exchanged hands at the start, when Geoffers parked his red bus very effectively, and I had to watch Erling ( and a few others) sweep past.  :taz:
It did not really change my race...

After that I was swearing at a car that was just not handling like the one I drove in qually, and wrestling with what felt like a shopping trolley to extract a decent lap time, I discovered approx half way through the race (as I was running out of fuel ) that I had loaded the wrong setup!!!

I think I must invest a little more time practising with the GTL cars, instead of just doing a few recce laps and then turn up and race on the night...the lack of preparation always bites me in the a**.

Fun race for me.  Not very often I'm ever in first place but then for 6 laps is  unheard of.  Was a real job keeping Erling behind me for that long.  We were kind of doing the old rubber band thing, he would catch me in the twisty's and the Ford would pull away on the straights. Then Mai Por and Geoffers passes us both.  By that time my tire's were gone and The XB wouldn't turn at all in the tighter corners.  Erling got me when I went wide, and  Jose passed me at the end.   Did what I could to finish in the best place possible, 5th.  A lot better than I thought I would that's for sure.  Always a good track for these cars......Thanks for the races!

Bob M.

Had a fair race, I'm still racing in the middle of the field, usually racing with Tony but surprisingly this time I was much faster, had a good start but around T2 I was kicked out, but i went back on the track and had a nice battle with misnoimis for a few laps and finally coasted 8th overall, I have to say those American muscle cars are really nice to drive.

Hope to see u in next race ..... Regards from Lebanon
