Ironic that your first race with us will be in mods that I know you had a huge part in developing. Respect :notworthy: We hope you enjoy your time with us and look forward to seeing you on track in the near future. Word of caution tho. We run a reduced set of the original GC cars so please check before race night that your fave is available. Have got the game running on Win 7 and can connect to the Altbierbude server (LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT contains 94.23.231.41) but not to the Simbin server (LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT contains gtlsrv.race-game.com). Have tried new registrations, with and without passwords. Is the server definitely up and if it is, any suggestions for getting connected?
Phil Title: Re: UKGTL Season 15 American V8s - Mont-Tremblant - Aug 17 Post by: Wiltshire Tony on August 15, 2015, 02:29:34 PM +0100 Hi Phil and welcome back.
You don't need to see the Simbin lobby so you should be good to go. Your lobby.txt file is correct. I have been messing around with the server this morning testing stuff for next years GTL season but I'll stop fiddling now so you can try again to join. Any probs just post. I'm home all day today so will probably be able to respond quite quickly. EDIT: Matt is attending this'n Title: Re: UKGTL Season 15 American V8s - Mont-Tremblant - Aug 17 Post by: phspok on August 15, 2015, 02:31:55 PM +0100 Hey Phil!!! I can do this one as well for a change :) Tony., this is the one week I can race 8)
I had the same problem when we moved away from altbier. I ended up buying the game from steam for a fiver, then just starting the game from the GTL.exe as it doesn't need steam to run. Now.....if you would just download Race Room as well :whistling: Title: Re: UKGTL Season 15 American V8s - Mont-Tremblant - Aug 17 Post by: Phil Gilliland on August 15, 2015, 02:51:07 PM +0100 Well whatever lobby I'm connected to (it says "Welcome to the GT Legends Lobby" at the top) it's empty, no tracks listed, nothing to connect to.
Title: Re: UKGTL Season 15 American V8s - Mont-Tremblant - Aug 17 Post by: Wiltshire Tony on August 15, 2015, 03:06:10 PM +0100 That does sound like the Simbin lobby. The Altbierbude lobby has at least ten leagues running, including ours. Just to confirm, your lobby.txt file only has 94.23.231.41 within it?

Title: Re: UKGTL Season 15 American V8s - Mont-Tremblant - Aug 17 Post by: Phil Gilliland on August 15, 2015, 04:19:25 PM +0100 That does sound like the Simbin lobby. The Altbierbude lobby has at least ten leagues running, including ours. Just to confirm, your lobby.txt file only has 94.23.231.41 within it? Sorry, my bad. No, my LOBBY.TXT file contained gtlsrv.race-game.com because I thought we were now using the Simbin server, which is also why I hadn't bothered looking for our league on the Altbier server. With 94.23.231.41 in the lobby file I've just connected no problem. One more question: before I binned xP (and switched to Linux) a year ago I backed up everything in my GTL folder. If I copy back my .plr file will all my old settings still be there? Not that I can remember what any of those buttons do. :D Many thanks for your help. Title: Re: UKGTL Season 15 American V8s - Mont-Tremblant - Aug 17 Post by: Wiltshire Tony on August 15, 2015, 04:33:18 PM +0100 Glad your sorted. Yes your old .plr file will work if you copy it over BUT make sure that the lines
Online Server=*************** Online UserName=************ Online Password=************* remain the same as your current .plr file or you will have to re-register to get to the lobby again, and you don't want to be doing that do you ;) Title: Re: UKGTL Season 15 American V8s - Mont-Tremblant - Aug 17 Post by: Wiltshire Tony on August 15, 2015, 06:28:53 PM +0100 My bestist is a 2:01. The Hemi doesn't like to scream at redline going up through the gears or downshifting at full throttle. Mostly run 158's to 2.00 and then it will last...........Undecided wether to use the RT or the Firebird, which for me is slower by almost a second.
See you Monday Bob M. FFB is on full all the time. Not a show-stopper because I can just remove the power to the wheel, but then I have no FFB at all. :-\

At the Start of the race my car was in the pits entry in the wrong direction when the lights turned green I was DQ !! >:( Any Idea guys about what happened ? hope to catch u in the next race !!! Michel Title: Re: UKGTL Season 15 American V8s - Mont-Tremblant - Aug 17 Post by: phspok on August 17, 2015, 09:27:50 PM +0100 Was a very good race, I was actually catching the leaders for a change 8)
Had some fun dicing with Flash, but it was hard work as he was warping badly at times so had to keep off line, eventually he became constant so pressed him, and he helpfully fell off, so then I caught Geoffers (huh, this doesn't happen) then he fell off so of course I caught Jose and Mackie :o i had been doing some tyres saving while following $FLASH and I think it paid off towards the end, mine were around 1/2 gone, and the car was a bit tricky, but I think others who were in fighting pairs took more wear Really good race. Thanks Tony, and thanks to all for coming out to play and making it 15? entries :thumbup2: :thumbup2: :thumbup2: Title: Re: UKGTL Season 15 American V8s - Mont-Tremblant - Aug 17 Post by: Wiltshire Tony on August 17, 2015, 09:44:33 PM +0100 Replay and results now posted.

It´s been a while since i raced on a Monday and i will try to make it again. Sorry for robbing the points ;) Ati lead the way for the first laps, i was close behind him. We opened a small gap to the group of cars behind with Senyorlobo, Geoffers, phspok and Flash. When we started to battle that gap was gone quick. Ati went wide in Turn 2 and so i took the lead. Senyorlobo immediatly started to push hard. I tried to save tires for a while and just defended my position. That gave the train behind another chance to catch up. Tires degraded, but it was enough till the finish line 8) Good stuff !! Title: Re: UKGTL Season 15 American V8s - Mont-Tremblant - Aug 17 Post by: Erling G-P on August 18, 2015, 02:53:28 PM +0100 That was a great track; really enjoyed 'driving' here :)
Sobering though, if not downright humiliating to come online and see the laptimes posted by more than half the field. How could you guys go that fast ? :o Made a decent start, from 10th and gained a couple of places, one when Clive spun in front of me. Promptly lost 3, when I was punted off at the next corner, but regained 2 of them when Kurt ran wide and Tony lost momentum. First had Bob ahead, but he soon made it past Gregman and disappeared. That was the start of an almost race long duel with Gregman for me. We each had places where we were faster than the other, so Gregman would extend the gap in one part, and I would shorten it in another. He didn't make any mistakes - none big enough for me to exploit at least. In early laps Clive was close behind, until he fell off. After 6-7 laps, we caught Bob rejoining after an off. When he went off again, both Gregman and I got past. In both Bob's moments, I almost lost it too - seems like when a Challenger spots one of its brethren in trouble, it wants to join in sympathy.. ;) Bob replaced Clive as my close shadow for many laps, until he dropped back some 5 secs. Gregman then finally made a mistake that allowed me to pass, and with Ati's exit, I was now in 6th. 5th place car was 15 secs ahead, so no chance of catching it, unless the driver made a major mistake. Caught Hayman on lap 18. He was all over the place, and in no mood to let me past. Made the last 1½ laps more exiting than needed, as it allowed Bob to get right up and personal again, but fortunately, I could hang on to 6th to the finish line. Grats to the podium and commiserations to Ati, Kurt, Michel and any other who suffered problems. Thanks to Tony for a great choice of track. :thumbup2: Cheers, Erling Title: Re: UKGTL Season 15 American V8s - Mont-Tremblant - Aug 17 Post by: Ati7 on August 18, 2015, 03:52:40 PM +0100 Good quali, good race.Nice battle Raz Jose Geoffers ;) Two accidents, the second fatal :o .Less practice Javelin,Challenger it would have been better for me.Grats and thanks all,see you next race.Great organization, great company, good track, good cars !
