Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

1:43.9 is my best time so far(I think) I like the AH100 here, it's by far the easiest drive and very consistent
I can go slightly faster in other cars though..... :-\ oooh what to do, what to do.

Have a little useless history if you want of this track and  the area.  It was located in a scenic part of southern California, and used the roads in the area.  The area was used and is still used by the movie industry, because they thought this area represented "cattle country" in the old "cowboy" days.  In reality "cattle country" is flat or rolling hills of Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas,  totally boring scenery.  No rocks or anything to hide behind in a gun fight when the bad guys or Indians attack.  Many famous movies and TV shows were filmed here.  Hopalong Cassidy, Gene Autry and many more old westerns movies.  TV shows  Gunsmoke, Bat Masterson, CSI Las Vegas, and even X Files.
The track only ran for two season in 1956-57 and was abandoned because it was a killer.  3 people died in this short time so they decided no more....So be careful "It's a killer"...Also we will run it season 16 in the Trans Am series as a substitute for a track they ran in 1966 but was never modeled for GTL.

See you at the track
Bob M.

Thanks for the trivia Bob - that prominent lava rock certainly bring reminders of the old western movies.

Nice track, but check your fuel consumption guys - this appears to be one of those tracks where the car will do less laps than shown on the setup screen, at least for my chosen ride.

Cheers,
Erling

Thanks, I was happy for a moment - now I'm 10 second off the pace with the Merc (despite Erling's brilliant setup  ;D).

Those trunk like objects remind me of kart racing in Cyprus in the early sixties on an Army square with the track marked out in old ammunition boxes and getting nudged and ending up straddling one  ::)   ???

Too late Erling!, although it won't help me. I'm taking a couple of weeks holiday in darkest Wales where men are men.. and the sheep are terrified. So i won't be bothering you guys on Monday night. Probably sitting in front of a log fire with a drink...or two  ;)

Have fun guys, I'll be back next week.

Just downloaded Paramount Ranch and when went to GTL select track it was in black print and would not load, have had this happen with several tracks.

If track name grey or black and will not load go to your locations folder then track name folder, open the .gdb file with notepad and delete the line (access level= number) then save, track will then load and work perfect.

Hi

great event! Thxs Tony for setting up!
For me it started bad. Quali 5 I think, but in Lap 1 Phill Gilland gave me a tap, I went into gras. Phil said sorry, but no waiting and go behind. Hmmm?
So I found myself on last place then.
Had to push hard to get thru the crowd. Some exellent laps with Roguk, finally found a point to pass him.
Geoffers then spun, I could pass and then was chased by him, oioioi ! Then I spun, Geoffers passed me, he chased me, real good fun........
I got him, maybe little mistake from geoffers? Phil in front of me. Ok, one more lap, I would have catched him. Easier way would have been, if Phil would have let me pass. (due to only sorry  ;D)
In the end 4th, more then I expected.

Thxs for great and fair fun, guys.

Greets hayman

At times it can be a sobering experience to find out just how much you suck.  Today was one of those times..  ;)

Big improvement of my pb, when I did my first sub-33 laps online today, but still laughably far off the pace.  For once got a decent start and didn't lose places.  Gained one on L1 when Hayman went off.

Tried hard to stay with Matt & Phil over the early laps, while building a 4-sec gap to Tony behind.  Alarmed to see the gap suddenly drop to 2.5 secs. Had Tony gained a second wind ?  Checking a lap later solved the mystery: it was Hayman making his way through the field. Doing the check broke my concentration, and I did a stupid downshift mistake at T1.  Dropped into 1st and promptly spun off.  At least it made Hayman's job easy.

Unfortunately, my gap to Tony & Roger had all but disappeared when I went off.  As we neared the halfway point, my tyres were pretty much gone. Went wide and off at the lava rock, letting Tony past.  Tried hard to hang on to him, and put him under pressure. While doing this, Roger was sneaking up behind me in his stealthy (red) Healey. Hadn't noticed his car in my tiny mirror, and couldn't hear the quiet Healey over the glorious howl of the Aston's engine. Thus rather shocked when I looked behind me and found his car to pretty much fill the entire screen..  :o

Managed to keep him behind for a number of laps.  With my worsening tyres, Tony was inching away. Knew I was doomed when I put my outside rear wheel on the gravel in the double left-hander after the viaduct. No amount of opposite lock could catch the ensuing slide, and so Roger was past too.

With a few laps left, I caught a glimpse of Matt's car up ahead, but any hope of a fight to the finish evaporated, when I went off again at the double left-hander.

Thus finished 9th.  Grats to the podium and all ahead of me.  Jose has taken a big bite out of my Championship lead, so hope I can do a little better in the remaining two races  :)

Liked the track until about halfways, when a bad graphics stutter set in.  Never had this when practicing alone, so perhaps caused by other cars being within the field of view, but occluded by the track and/or objects.  Anyone else have this problem ?

Cheers,
Erling

Off the pace as usual, set new PB in qualifying -1.5 sec and improved it a number of times in the race.  Amused myself, between moving over for overtakers, trying to improve my PB. Glad to see Erling had tyre wear l thought it was just me; the last few laps I didn't know which end would let go first.  ??? ::) Had a couple of real tank-slappers out of last turn and went up that big stone, right on the apex. Tried to avoid reversing onto the track let number of cars go by before reversing onto the track and getting away again!   ;D

No graphics problems for me Erling.

Tony, not able to vote for this track.

I was incredibly fast with Healy. I did not expect to go so well. Although the was perfectly suited to the small Healy.

The start was very good. Ati and Geoffers were fighting several times and got a good gap. Aftere that a bit boring but happy for the win. I like the track a lot. I did not know him.

Don't  worry about the championship, friend. Very possibly can not run the last race so... impossible for me.

Grats pod and all finishers!

Cheers!

Odd. If you have already voted before you have to redo the voting. Maybe wait until the end of the season and vote then? (after clearing your previous selections).

Good fun as always, really liked this track.

Had a good battle with Ati for the first few laps until I had my first spin. Had another a little later & compounded it by stalling & then giving it too much throttle & going around in circles before regaining the track. This let Phil & Hayman go past, but I regained 4th when Hayman had a moment & started gaining on Phil. The last 3-4 laps were really tricky as the tyres seemed to have no grip left & I was powerless to hold off Hayman when he caught me, so finished 5th.

Congrats to the podium, cya all next week.  :thumbup1:

Frustrating race for me.  Offline times of 132 & 133's pretty consistent but couldn't do that online at all.  A100 cornered fairly well but on exit it just felt like the clutch was slipping, engine rev up but no acceleration to speak of.  It is a good track, we have raced muscle cars on it several times, modded by Maeckie/McRazz and Pizzaman a couple of years ago.  As I said in a prior post this track will be used in the Trans Am series next year, may treat me better then..........
