Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Note earlier race start time.

Sorry Bill, I was a bit rushed on Monday night when I set this race up for online use. I'll fix it tonight when I get home.

Seems to be Ok now Bill. Sorry about that.

Had a spin in Datsun 240 Z.  8) Will probably go with that.  In 1:50s, so is 12 laps the correct distance?

Just a "heads up" on this track from past races.  It suffers from a fuel bug, you need to add 40-50% more fuel than the garage suggests.  For the 12 laps I am going with 17-18 laps to be on the safe side, if I get a chance to compete.....hopefully.

Just reading the above, Tony. On my screen it reads 2 races of 12 laps each - no mention of a 20 min race?

Hi

again I have that serious problem. I downloaded cars, but only BMW and Mazda are "buyable" for me. Datzun and Porkas............I cant buy, so I cant drive. I deleted them and downloaded them directly from Nogrip. But now I cant even buy them.......................... :(
Anyone ideas? if not, I can make only 4 races.......................... :'(

That is odd Hayman. Obvious things first, do you have money to buy them?

I don't recall ever having this problem or heard of anyone else having had it so I'm struggling for a solution.

EDIT: To unlock all of the GTL content without doing the cup challenges you can download this http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=788. Add the downloaded file to your main GTL folder. Start GTL and create a new Profile. Exit GTL then start it again. If it's successful your cars will now be unlocked and you will have loads of cash.

Post by: Pelle_B on March 07, 2015, 06:10:07 PM +0000
Maybe I don't understand completely the problem, but Hayman...you can try this:
*Remember: If you download TG2001.Dyn...you must create a new driver profile before it Works* (after copy your setups, Settings folder)
For example, try to open the CAR-file for the car you want to drive...here 240Z & look at the last lines:

Quote
Number=25PB
Team="GTLDK"
PitGroup="Datsun"
Driver="GT-Legends"
Description="Datsun 240Z"
Engine="DATSUN_240Z"
Manufacturer="DATSUN_240Z"
classes="SIM_FULL, SIM_GTC, SIM_IMSA, SIM_DAT, SIM_ABB_Server1"
//ComparativeTime=105
Value=55000
Locked=0

This is a car that runs on ABB & line with 'classes=' has changed, maybe your are wrong from NoGrip & should be changed to UKGTL...Tony?
Value=55000...or your number perhaps a completely different from Nogrip. Changes the price so that the line is going to look like here...the price of your car becomes 1 when you start GTL:
Value=1//55000
Locked=0...if you do not already have this line, copy it into & save.

This should work without TG2001.Dyn...but only for this car  8)

Hi

and thxs for answers.
I have the TG2001 file. I startet driving GTL online 2009 and for the leagues of gamers-crib.com I had to install many cars. I never before had this problem. Serious, jep!
Pelle: there are many files in car folder. which one is the one I have to look in?

fingers crossed  :)

Every car has it's own .car file. You can edit these files with Windows Notepad.

Pelle is saying copy this line Locked=0 into each .car file. Make it the final line. Car will now be unlocked.

Maybe the line is already there but is saying Locked =1. If so change 1 to 0.

We can continue with the example of the 240Z...but you should obviously choose the car you want to use online.
Unfortunately, I have still not installed here from UKGTL yet, so I use my path from ABB:

C:\SimBin\GTLBierB\GameData\Teams\IMSA\Datsun 240Z\25PB...in this folder you will find: CAR-fil
Open it with as Tony says, Notepad...or as I (a program that is great for many things) Araneae (http://www.ornj.net/araneae/)

Edit: Come to think of, I have 2x240Z skins on ABB (#25 & #26)...but the nicest is perhaps this #22, built by a real model.
(http://www.gt-legends.eu/Fun/Pictures/Datsun240Z/ETCC/v1_4/22_Datsun_240Z_899_Real_V1_4.jpg)
...yes, I like very much to drive 240Z, the car is in my opinion one of the funniest in GTL. The real is here (http://files.conceptcarz.com/img/Datsun/Datsun-240Z_DV-10-WG-06.jpg)

Hi hayman!

Great to see you here too  ;)

I don't have this problem. But i have 3 installation of GT Legends.

The 1st for GC, the 2nd for UKGTL and the 3rd for ABB.
Maybe you can try to make a new install of GTL in another folder and install it all for UKGTL. Works fine for me.

Good luck.

Cheers

Good to hear the problem is solved  ;D
...but I got to thinking, perhaps the fault lay somewhere else & you might have downloaded ETCC version of the 240Z.

Low Guard is a small program you start up...before starting GTL. If you do not use it, your times are in yellow lowGuard & you using 'maybe' cheat  :o
You can also check out all that is on the server if they use lowGuard. I use it of course, because...no one should doubt if I cheat & my times are...green  :laugh:

I've always known you to be a quick driver, Pelle, but that lap time of yours puts mine to shame. I thought my 1:41.5 on a clear track and minimum fuel was at least going to be quick enough to avoid being lapped (again)  :)  Assuming there is only one Laguna Seca track, your time is on par with say an MP4 McLaren, and quicker than a 911 GT2. Ok, the 240Z is a little lighter but it has less than half the bhp.

Is everyone else lapping this quick? because if so, I'm going to have to give my rear view mirror a real good clean  :'(

1:34!!! that is definitely in alien territory!!! :o. That sort of time is not even on my radar  :-\

 I am not using the 240z as I have not had time to cobble a decent setup together for that one yet...and I don't want to waste what is clearly the fastest car in this group. But I doubt that I could squeeze that sort of performance out of it.

Tried the 911 at Road Atlanta and it felt solid, if not the quickest so might use that for one race tonight...the other race might be pot luck?

No one should fear my 1:34 time, because...I have downloaded Seca here from UKGTL & it is not the same as used on ABB (seca ALMS) ???

...but, I tested Mazda (terribly shitty car) & as I said, track is downloaded here from UKGTL & the same with all cars...& I get 'mismatch' with server  :o

My best so far is 1:44 in the RX3 - I didn't try another car and will stick to it.
But please keep in mind that I'll be very slow down the Corkscrew  ::)

One silly question: just remarked "two drives per car" - so two drives tonight in Seca
in the same car would mean that this special car is "out"?

I have never done any good at Laguna Seca so I chose the Mazda since it's my least favourite of the available cars ... and my luck at this track ran true to form with a disconnect in race 1  ???
Better luck in race 2 and had a very enjoyable duel with Postal  :)

I enjoyed the evening.

Race 1

I made a slow start. I think because I could not hear my engine over the RX-3’s. I had started to get into the race when three of us tried to take a bend side by side. It didn’t work, we all suffered, especially me and I ended up in last place. It actually made my race very interesting as I slowly made up places. I ended up 6th, almost 5th as Pelle had engine trouble and we just about dead heated on the line? I didn’t deserve 5th but I would have taken it.

Race 2

I made a better start but then got a bit over cautious. I was getting into the race but got taken out and dumped into a tyre wall ending up near the back of the field. I had that feeling that I’d been here before. Same scenario as Race 1, slowly closing on the cars in front. Good fun though but I would have liked to have been a little further up the field.

Grats to winners, podiums and thanks all.  :clap:

Good fun at Laguna Seca.
I cannot explain why, but I decided over the weekend that this was the track where I would use the Mazda and I had to make it work or go crazy in the process. I almost went crazy!!!

That RX3 just did not want to be tamed and I spent more time watching the rear wheels try and overtake the front at each corner than I have with any other car in GTL.
Finally I developed a setup that allowed me some control and was feeling that I might be able to compete in this howling beast...then Jose posted about his 1:34 lap!! when all I had managed was a PB of 1:42. That was depressing :( !!!

It was all Ok when we discovered that Jose's laptime was on a different version of the track ( phew!!!, ). But in qually for the 1st race the front rows were still 2 secs a lap quicker than I could squeeze out of the RX3.
TBH I screwed up the first race when I was too hot on the loud pedal out of T3 and lost the rear end  :-\
Later on lap 1 I lost out in a paint swapping contest and ended up stuffed into the wall and about 15 secs off the tail of the field.  But the rest of the race was good as I adjusted my braking and turn in points and gradually got the Mazda back onto the tail of the race with some quick laps. It all went wrong when the engine coughed on the last lap and I ran out of fuel.

race 2

Add 2 extra gallons!! and give it the beans in qually. Still a couple of secs of the front row but I felt more comfortable with the package. Got a good start and stole a couple of places in the first few corners. I was determined to stay out of trouble and played it cool for the first few laps until I had some heat in the tyres. Then I turned up the wick and went hunting Porkers. ;)
Postal  was proving a difficult nut to crack and I dropped back for a lap to watch where he was quicker and slower, before jumping on his bootlid and shouting MAAAZZZDDDDAAA in his ears with that wonderful megaphone exhaust. It worked and the shock made him spin at T2  ;D
For the rest of the race I was trying to chase down misnomis in 2nd spot and got quite excited when I saw that Jose had made a mistake and I now had 1st and 2nd place cars in sight about 4 secs ahead. Although I could take tenths out of the lead I could not get close enough to challenge and backed off on the final lap just to be sure. that almost ended in disaster when I relaxed too much at the corkscrew and ran straight on!!

Luckily I had a big enough margin over Bill back in 4th to recover and cruise to the line, quite chuffed to have got 3rd in a car like the RX£ and to know that I DON@T HAVE TO DRIVE THAT BAG OF ******* ANY MORE!!  ;D

hi guys

that was real good fun, and very fair gentleman-driving. hats up!
first time I drove the mazda. (in gamers-crib league we drive only gtc65 cars, so no experience for me with 76 cars)
that "wankel"-monster was very nice, gave me good consitence, I liked it much to drive...................except that megasound from exhausters, chainsore sound. I had to lower my headphone-loudness.
In the end of race 1 found myself on 4th. damn porkas................. ;D
race 2 good start, on 4th again, but then one mistake, into the sand and back to end of grid. but then some very nice laps trying to get some better place.

As I said: real good fun with you guys, I´m looking forward next race.

thxs 4 fun and racing
hayman
(btw: where can I find replays????????????? ???)

LOL Clive  ;D
...& Hayman, look in Report  ;)

This was not my day, but I said it before because I had a hard race sunday - (I start to pour water out of the ears) funny enough, a track we almost have run, Pau 67...but this was 50 laps with 3xpit & I ended only number 3 (http://www.altbierbude.de/images/events/2014/The_60s_The_Cup_II/07/05/) :wacko:

Race 1
I would save 240Z for later & I hate to run Porsche...bumbum, elections were Mazda...a car I - now - hate even more, not to speak of sound  ::)
...but the race was fun, unfortunately was Mazda not so easy to get to behave as I would have it and therefore lost qual in Race 1. Incredible at some point I'm number 2 & have a good battle with Lobo...& it saddest, TEAM-GTLDK could be 1-2-3...but I muck it up & drove the last two laps on 3 wheels :'(
Grats Steve, Lobo & MaiPor

Race 2
Nothing to write home about, but at the last minute to change the setup for race 2...for the worse. The car is too ligth rear & too much coaust meant that when I went into first gear...rear wheels locked too much.
Grats Lobo, MaiPor & Clive

...& thanks to you all for good entertainment  :thumbup1:

Pelle, I have changed one word in your report. WT

Dont worry Clive!  ;) I think that with porka is possible to run 1.38-1.39 but don't had many time for practice. Only 2 hour before the race did a few laps in server.
Fortunelly I knew so much the track and was easy make a stable setup.

The start of 1st race was bad. Maipor and steve overtook me and I made a mistake in the first corner. Go down to last place I think.
Push hard and I recovered many places until catched my teammate Pelle (good battle mate). 3rd place for me. But MaiPor made a mistake and finally 2nd.

The start of 2nd race was normal and I kept the 1st place all race. Happy for the results.

Grats Steve, Marc and Clive for the pod!

Cheers!

Wish I could get to grips with Laguna Seca! It's a track that I know from many, many laps but it still beats me up. Knew I'd be driving Pork and decided to switch between cuts for each race. Went full fat in the first race and started well enough but soon found out that my setup had introduced a very light steery feel which made the car either not feel like it was going to turn when required, or would suddenly bite and try to spin around. Hence I was passed by everyman and his dog.
Race two and I chose Porky light. But whilst the steering control was better I kept being caught out by the braking point for turn 1. Lap after lap I was digging myself out of the sticky sand trap.
Could do better.

Great to see the grid filling up Guy's  :thumbup1: If Matt and Bill Thomas were present we would of been up to sixteen! WOW  :o

And the noise a grid full of Mazda's make.....jeez. Couldn't hear my cars engine at all on the run to turn 1.

BTW plans for Season 16 are well underway and I can disclose that the Mazda will be returning  :shifty:

Good fun time for me.  First race was pretty non-eventful for me just did my usual thing of driving the track and  avoided other people's mishaps. Finished around my normal position at the back.  Second race I made a big mistake and started messing with the brake bias.  Should have left well enough alone.   Got the 914 really crossed up going down the hill into T1 and almost took out someone else in mid corner.  Sorry about that.   Hit the wall and screwed up the suspension badly.  Decided to limp back to the pits and put the crew to work on the repair.  Lost a couple of laps, but finished anyway........In last place of course.  Good fun anyway, your format is a learning experience for us GC guys but a challenge is good.  Going to try to twist the arms of a couple of other guys over there and try to get them to join in......Next week is the "Old Crocks" that should be really a challenge.   Thanks for the races!!!!

Bob M.

Great to have you with us Bob and as long as your having a good time then it's all worth the effort.

Would love to see more of your mates on a Monday night. Please spread the word.

Down with flu all weekend and Monday too, so didn't get anywhere near my normal prep before these races. Not really fit to race either, but just wanted to make an appearance and scrounge a few points for the championship.

Don't like Laguna Seca, but at least all our recent visits here turned out to be an advantage, as I didn't need to learn a new track too.  Mazda was the only car I had tried before I got sick, so had to be it for the races, difficult or not..  8)

Race 1:
Never got a good lap in qual, so far down the field on the grid - not that I could have matched the front runners in any way, even at my best.  Made up some places early on and was 5th briefly, but lost a couple of places to faster drivers.  Was in 7th when I accidentally bumped Tony - sorry about that.  Went into the gravel and down to 11th.  Had a battle with Bob and Roger over a number of laps, but eventually got away.  Back to 7th, when I passed a spun Postal.  A move by him on the following lap sent me into a spin, and triggering more events, ultimately down 5 places, to 12th.  Postal handed me back the position he could, but that still left 4. Not enough time left to make that up, so finished 8th - went from 10th to 8th on the final meters of the race, when I outdragged Tony and Bob, so a hectic finish  :)

Race 2:
Saw Tony's message about qual starting at 21:00 GMT.  Did a practice lap and then returned to pits, waiting for qual.  21:00 (22:00 in my case) came and went.  Minutes were ticking away, with no 'next session', no messages by others, and no one going out on track.  Increasingly puzzled, I suddenly noticed that my router was void of activity.  Strange, the game gave me no indication of a lost connection.  Rejoined in the final moments of qual, and only just had time for one timed lap, on half cold tyres.

Thus another grid pos far down the field.  Most unusual, it was for once me who outdragged Clive at the start  ;D - only to promptly loose the position again, when I went onto the gravel on the right..  :cursing:  Went from bad to complete muck up, when I next spun at T1. Car wasn't damaged, and shouldn't have all that much dirt on the tyres, but it still refused to turn at T2, instead burying me deep in the gravel.  By the time I got out, I was very much last!  Made up a few places during an otherwise unremarkable race, to finish 9th.

Grats to podiums in both races, and nice to see such large grids  :yes:

Cheers,
Erling

Well you said this, Erling...because I was so exhausted so I've almost forgotten already...what I did yesterday.  ::)
The last thing I saw was like you: 21:00 GMT...I spent time on smoke & Coke & thought...unbelievable, time passes slowly. Jumped in the car...but I was alone on Seca? No indication of 'Lost Connection' & took a rejoin. When I got on the server again, I said: Lost :(

At least six drivers dropped of the server without warning in the moments approaching qualy.

Disastrous event for me after I had achieved a new PB in free practice ( 1:43.8 ) and felt really confident.
Two 13th places  :-[  In the first heat I felt like I was in a different car on a different track  ???,
2nd heat was better (using the same setup than in the first one) but some individual faults let
me drop back to next-to-last position  :( So this was the RX-3 for this season.  :P

See you next week at Rouen !
