Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: This race is flag started. However the flagman is out of sync with the in-game countdown and you could get a stop/go for a jumped start if you go with the flag. I would strongly suggest that the in-game countdown is switched on for this race.

Room for another (not so new) driver? :)

I haven't run GTL since I swapped to windows 10, hopefully it'll work without issues. I've got tomorrow night to sort them out, at least!

Set the 3d Config to run as admin too to get around that  ;)

Is there any advantage in upgrading from Win 7 to Win 10 as far as GTL is concerned Tony?  ???

I managed to practice a little before this race. Also had raced on this version of Daytona once before so it helped.

Had to twice almost stop to pass sideways cars at the start and so lost a lot of momentum and places. Then a little later made the mistake of watching someone else’s accident and half spun, got hit (my fault) and lost my headlights and felt the car pulling slightly to the right. I soon forgot about it but I think my time may have been about a second a lap down according to my off line practice times before the race.
Anyway it was not a bad race for me although I would like to have been a little quicker as I may have got some entertainment.

However due to some of the faster drivers misfortunes I managed a 6th place finish.

Congrats to winner and podiums.

Good race for me. Avoided most of the start line mayhem but did get caught by Jose's stationery car. Made up some places early on and managed to pull out a lead on the following pack. Then it was many many lone laps until Geoffers caught and passed me. Then followed a few laps of me tailing him or vice versa as each of us seemed to make mistakes at the last tight right hander before joining the oval. Unfortunately on lap 22? Geoffers was leading me by about 4 secs when he found Bill demonstrating his donut skills just after the start finish line. The inevitable collision let me pass by unscathed and go on to the finish in 5th.
Nice to see a good size grid and hope to revisit this format possibly in Season 17.
Thanks to everyone who joined in.

A disaster start race for me  :(  Sorry if i disturb anyone.
But after that was a fun fun race trying to gain positions lap by lap. Good and fair battles with all you guys.
Finaly 2nd. Grats Ati for a totally deserved 1st place and grats phspok for the 3rd place, very consistent pace.

Grats Erling for the 2nd place in championship and grats to my friend Marc for the 3rd place.

Thanks Tony for the organization. Great job!

And, for the next year I don't know if I will have time for run with all you. My wife is pregnant and my daughter will be born early next year  I hope I can run every monday, but did not even know if that's possible.  So.... have fun guys!

Congratulations to the podium. Looked like a solid performance from Matt too, nice. Had no time for practice so setup was a bit of a gamble. Could avoid the mayham at the start and was making up places. Got a nudge from Hayman which spun me around and stalled the engine. Took me a while getting it started and pointing in the right direction. So was at the back of the field. Hayman waited for me and we set out to make up some ground, a battle which lasted all the way until the last lap. With a large enough field there is someone to race most of the time luckily. So still had some fun this final race.

There was no stopping Senyorlobo this season. Deserved champ.
Well done all. It made for a good championship. And a big thanks to Tony for putting this together. I am all up for some sort of a re-run of a IMSA series.
Cheers

Sorry Geoffers for losing you a finishing position,  :'( it was my only screwup at that corner my brakes snatched and threw me into the wall. I was trying to stay to the right to allow you through but best laid plans of mice and men!! ???

No problem Bill, just one of those things. I had lined up to take the inside line & you suddenly seemed to swerve across in front of me, no way I could avoid you.

Sorry for also being part of the start mayhem, car just went sideways when I dropped the clutch. Guess that is why they always have a rolling start at Daytona IRL. Had good fun making my way back through the field & had a few close laps with Tony, swapping places as we both made mistakes. Not a big fan of these cars, I am never able to get them to handle to my liking, they always seem to have power understeer & I can never get them to drive out of corners smoothly. Guess I am just setting them up all wrong.

Anyhow, congrats to Ati, Jose & Matt

Also congrats to the championship podium.

History repeats itself it seems  :)

In our first race here, I too was qualified 4th, and too managed to steal the lead briefly, when the cars ahead of me had trouble getting off the sloping start grid.  In the first race, I ran wide in T1 on L1, but this time I at least waited to the start of L2 before doing so.  Dropped to 6th, but had fun swapping places with Roger, Michel, Ati, Clive & Jose in the first 3rd of the race.  The remaining 2/3 was very lonely, as I seemed to be in my own bubble in 4th.

Grats to the podium

And grats to Jose on winning the series - very convincingly and well deserved     Grats also on the little one on the way - hope you can still find time to race with us next season too

My own luck that Marc missed this race; otherwise I doubt I could have run away with 2nd, but congrats on 3rd place to Marc

This should also be my last race using my trusty DFP wheel/pedal.  It's held up much longer than I ever expected, but I have acquired a G27 from a colleague who wanted to get rid of it.  It's virtually brand new - doubt he's used it for more than a few weeks at most, but still couldn't pressure him to take any more than £20 for. Ridiculous really and a complete steal.  So if I'm blisteringly quick, or (more likely) laughably slow in the next race, you probably know why..  ;)

Cheers,
Erling

Thanks for the mention, Tony. Very frustrating but had several family issues to resolve that evening and it wasn't until about 9.30 that I realised I'd missed it all :( . I was looking forward to hopefully adding a few more points from that last race, this being my first season with you guys.

Anyway, I'm still around and ready for Season 16 plus the remaining races next month.

And well done Jose for keeping the pressure on and your IMSA Championship title.
