It would help the Admin team greatly if drivers could post their intention to attend (even provisionally).

Thanks in advance  :-*

I can add a driver list to the race announcement if this helps. Also would it be helpful if drivers race under their forum names or if they prefer, they could add their AC racing name to their forum signature or avatar?

Yes TT. The F458 S3 has very similar performance to Ferrari's customer race car series the Ferrari Challenge.

The other two events will also be single spec but using different cars to be announced shortly.

If all goes as planed next week i'll be there.
Like the idea of this small Ferrari Championship!
If I'll have time i might even do some skins for Ferrari. A SimRacing.org.uk and a Core skin maybe. To put some colors on the grid. But i promise nothing :)

Should be a corker of a series really, for close racing, as we will all be in identical cars with minimal set up variations possible  :) think it's worthy of a fuller series tbh like the real Ferrari championship. We already have Imola, Mugello, Magione and Monza. Could add in Nurburg Gp too.
Then do it all again in the F40's  8)

It's 3 different Ferraris for this series MJ so we'll only be running the F458 S3 for this race. My idea is to run this as a short series to take us up to holiday period and to see how the scoring goes. I eventually want to run several series side by side to make up a season as we do in GTL and PnG and a proper Ferrari Challenge could be included at that time if popular but I think it's wise to wait for full release before we do that.

I'm toying with the idea of the winner of this race choosing our next Ferrari to race at Monza  :-\

Got a Q about these bookings: if I understand correctly, when the booking commences nobody can join the server until it's finished. Is that right? Is there any use of this? Why can't we practice and when the next session is proceeded we qualify? Speak slowly, please. ;)

Because if you're not booked on the server you can't join a later session.

The main advantage of these booking sessions:

When we have races with lots of different car choices (GT races), if we don't use the booking system Pete has to pre book the number of cars onto the server. For example if we have 5 different cars on a track with 20 pit boxes Pete can only pre book 4 of each car onto the server (5x4=20). Not much good if you've been practising all week in the Z4 and there are none left when you come to join.

We could of course change this for single spec races, but then we risk confusion (and some other things).

Once you have booked in, your slot is remembered so you can always leave the lobby to practise offline and return to join during official practise.

Hmm, seems an unnecessary complication from the game developers, though I understand their goal.
Joined the server, picked the red car which was white on track. ::) Something wrong I picked, I guess.
Am stuck at 1:36, how slow is this?

I'm making a Core Racing Ferrari GT2 skin. Its not much different than street car. Might convert it and just use some color variations.

What would the SimRacing livery look like? Can i get a color combination and Logopack and I will try to make it. Something simple so it doesn't take me to long to do.

If i'll make skin i will make it for both SimRacers and Core. Just for fun and some colors on the grid.

How does skins than work on server?

There isn't an actual SROUK skin or logo as far as I'm aware. Many of us here race for our league teams in official championships (I myself race for the Kerb Crawlers who are by far the most charismatic and esteemed team in these parts, not to mention the most modest  ;)) and we have skins for some of the GTR2 and GTL cars. Would be nice to get the teams thing going again once we are properly up and running.

As far as using skins in game I believe it is optional and that drivers without the skins installed will just see plain white skins in their place (correct me if I'm wrong here).

You put them in the right folder ....assettocorsa\content\cars\ferrari_458_s3\skins and you than can select them. When you don't install them you'll just see the default skin, so no mismatches will occur  ;)

Apologize to goldtop for the tap on the first lap, missed my braking point on a crowdy track, sorry. :(
Let all pass and started from the back, nice tussle was developing with Mr. Mark Beszant(?) when I lost control of my wheel. No response, car went into the wall, scraped, sand, everything. I heard throttle on full, couldn't stop the thing, Esc didn't work, nothing. :-X Did Alt-Tab to shut the thing down and got control again. What could cause this? Didn't have (to my knowledge) any program updating or some such. :(

Car was awfuly damaged, pitted, missed my pitbox the first time ::), limped around again, repaired, joined, drove. No use, I guess. Didn't race anyone so I could quit just as well. :-\

Not a good start to my first AC Championship. Was it the same in GTR2?  ;)

Sounds like either an app or a controller doing that TT. I had it for a while in early days  of AC but not seen it for ages.

What a great race that turned out to be  :) I've been off sick with man flu and a chest infection and really thought I'd struggle again tonight like I did last Thursday. Had done little practise as coughing fits prevented any concentration.
Qualified a decent 5th or 6th.
Race start I got mugged by about 3 cars as I thought we had standing starts! Rules keep changing  ::) but I prefer standing by far.
Kept my nose clean and got up the inside of Simon to hog the racing line at T2, then out braked spanner at the next corner. Then a couple of guys span off at the hairpin and I was 4th and motoring after Erik  :)
Stayed 4th a long while then DA was off on a Tarmac apron and I was 3rd!
GOldtop caught me eventually and chased me very hard for quite a few laps and I was feeling the heat but he suddenly dropped back 5 secs as I assume he took to the gravel at the very fast t1. It was the breather I needed until I got the low fuel warning so did a fair bit of coasting and early gear changes for last couple of laps.
Finished a fine 3rd for a Fezza podium  8)
Great race with good grid of fine looking cars  :)

Nice race that. Made a good start and was battling it out for 2nd/3rd with Lux (I think) until TT missed his braking point and tapped me off....np btw. Lost a few places and had that silly windscreen shatterthing which I thought I'd got rid of  ::)

Had a nice chase back and a great battle with MJ but just couldn't get a decent run to grab 3rd. Eventually clipped a kerb on the inside of T2 which resulted in a high speed spin  :o Fortunately no harm done and I was able to resume unscathed.

Grats to Erik and podies  8) Being the winner Erik, if you'd like to choose a Ferrari for us to race at Monza next week be my guest  :) Just shout up and I'll do the rest.

errr sorry to muck the race/championship organisers about but Chris Thorpe = Sutol. I forgot to alter my profile from Sunday's Core Racing event (where real names are preferred I think).

I had an incident with Paul in the first sector of one of the early laps. I think we were 3 abreast going into the corner after the first straight. none of us were yielding so there was going to be some contact. Unfortunately I ended up slamming into the Armco and sustaining suspension damage which took an absolute age to fix in pits. I eventually got back on track (thanks for the encouragement Mark) and hopefully managed to gleen some valuable championship points.

I really do try to stay out of trouble but it seems the more I try the more I attract it!!

Thx for the race guys, see you at the next.

Sorry to spanner as I followed him on lap 2 I was just inches behind through the flat out esses and his car slowed (braked?) and I had no chance to react and sent him spinning. Second part of the esses is flat out so really was not expecting a slow down, but there you go, poo happens. :(

Grats to Erik and podies  8) Being the winner Erik, if you'd like to choose a Ferrari for us to race at Monza next week be my guest  :) Just shout up and I'll do the rest.

I like the 312T, but we already drove that one here on Monza and there are some who don't like the open wheelers I think. So I would suggest the LaFerrari, as I never raced that one before.
@Luka if you're going to do liveries again, yes I would like one please  ;D

I love open wheelers, but I hate the 70s F1 cars as they drive like someone reversed the laws of physics. Early F1 downforce was not pretty.

Miserable night for me.

First time back on track for a few weeks. Didn't bother with quali, just used the time to run on race fuel and tweak the setup a touch. Got off the line ok and made a few places as early incidents took their toll. Went from 12th or so to 7th at the end of Lap 1. Saw Shark and Spanner having their incident in the fast chicane after S/F and thought " Oooh - another two places gained" but as I approached the next RHander I was starting to back off as I wasn't sure where Sharks car was going and ended up having to make a nasty correction to avoid thumping him just as I leant on the brake pedal. My car veered left straight into the wall which destroyed the front LH side, steering was at a silly angle and the car wouldn't turn right. No worries about the coming together Mark B, my car was finished anyway. There was no point trying to get back to the pits so I bailed.

Hoping for better luck next time.

Thanks Erik, LaFerrari it is

I've only driven it very briefly so look forward to trying to tame it. I'll get the race announcement sorted by the weekend.

Looks like i misjudged the entry speed, carried too much speed, maybe caught the small grass/ gravel section on the inside and felt it dig in. Didnt think it slowed quite that much, but trying to get the right turn in point& speed is difficult. Fun fight back up the field though.

Allways a fan of single seaters but i guess the modern one in AC would probably turn most people off.

GT, any chance of telling us which Monza track you will be planning to use?

It's the modern layout Tony. Not really a fan of the 60's circuit unless of course it's with a suitably period car.

Maybe next time we can have another close race as that could have been fun I think.

How come everyone is so bad at the starts? Every race I just gain so many positions. My start is nothing special...
1) Full throttle
2) Squeeze up shift whilst lights are on.
3) As soon as lights go out squeeze the extra bit to engage the shifter and bam.
4) Depends on the car, but general still have my foot flat on the floor.

Hopefully they will implement starting in 1st with the clutch in before it's released, but I won't hold my breath.

Does flashing lights work? Not at home with this sim yet, tried flashing but saw nothing from inside. Or should we engage The Horn?  ;)

You can turn lights on an off, but you can barely see them as they don't project onto the road (and I don't believe that is a feature they have any plans to implement, along with day/night and weather).

I like the horn, very funny, but not sure it works in multiplayer does it? Have to test it next time.

Is the flashing of lights visible in rear mirror then? What's the use of them if not?

When will this Championship be incorporated fully into the forum? I mean top right spot. :)

And where will the next race be?

Next race is LaFerrari at Monza (modern circuit).

This championship can't be incorporated into our LM2 system because currently AC logs and our system just aren't compatible. Full release of AC is expected soon so that might make it possible to use our current system of results. If not I'm not sure what the answer is  :-\

But I believe events have to be booked into our LM2 system to appear there.
