Monza i always struggle at, but maybe i expected more from this car. I guess its still a road car but feels like the 312 has better performance. Do i really have to brake this early down the straights?

take a look at the speed your doing down the straights then have a think about the braking distances, plus the 312 is on slicks which would help slow it down.

hmm, this car felt like playing 'Outrun' back in the 80's/90's...anyone remember it?  Must be the modern supercar factor  :-\  It just feels so easy to drive, other than the carp brakes, I would have expected a supercar with that much power to be a bit lairy but its on rails most of the lap, except being sloppy through Ascari. You get no sensation of taming a very powerful car, are they really that sanitised these days? I found it very dis-engaging like i'm just turning the wheel and the pc is doing the physics manipulation. Found myself wanting to turn off (or lower) the TC to make it more alive.
1:42's were my staple fast laps. Not sure how these are going to make for a great online race as they appear to need a country mile to get them to stop in time for any of the major braking zones and I can see rear-ending a plenty  :o and narked off drivers!

As I quickly bored of driving it, I decided to see how much Ferrari supercars have improved since the 80/90's and took the F40 S3 out. What a difference in feel and immersion! The F40 is totally visceral and demanding and full-filling to drive  8) It literally makes you feel like your in a vastly improved simulator compared to driving the La Ferrari. Don't get me wrong, I was about 15 secs a lap slower (on 90's slicks) in it (proves how much technology has improved!) but my did it feel awesome and engaging to drive, unlike the point and shoot modern car. Squirting the throttle to engage the turbo, back end stepping out in 3rd halfway round Parabolica, superb!  :tt1: I was grinning like a loon  ;D Kunos have done an amazing job simulating this thoroughbred.

I'm with you MJ...

Been spending most of my AC time running the F40 round Spa, it's huge fun compared to the LaFerrari. Hopefully the winner of this race takes the hint ;)

El Marriachi's fmod sounds for the std F40 are very nice too, pity they don't work with the S3.

Just shows you can never please everyone with car/track combos  ::) I'd originally mapped out the F40 S3 for Monza and the 312T for Imola but I'm sure there would have been some not happy with those.

Personally I think LaFerrari is a good choice and deserves an outing. Drivers are just going to have to be sensible and remember that they won't be able to miraculously brake 10m later than usual when presented with a sniff of a chance into one of the chicanes. You have been warned  :angel-wings:

My post was more about my personal findings on new v old Ferrari supercars and the difference in feel and engagement you get between the two in AC (and no doubt real life!).
Got no problem with trying to master the LaF at Monza  :), probably the best track for it along with Spa to stretch its considerable legs, just not as fun to drive to me personally. I've found the same in the real world as modern Porsches with all their bells and whistles just don't give me the same fun as my 30yr old car despite boasting 100 extra bhp! They weigh twice as much and are full of electronic gumph  :P

You can make them work.

First, copy El Marriachi`s f40 bank file from sfx folder and put it into f40_s3`s sfx folder.

Rename original bank file into something else than use original name (ferrari_f40_s3) for El Marriachi`s bank file.

Than put this (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwjSkCqTw1UGRE0tNmdNSjNSbDg/view?usp=sharing) into f40_s3`s sfx folder ...

just finished the race... Missed everyone on that first corner pile up to 4th (already had a sweat on at that point)

Big sorry to Goldtop, few laps in end of the main straight I was hard on the brakes (ABS enabled) and it wouldn't chop off the speed carried compared to your braking I slightly tapped your rear but did pull to one side to let you past after recovery.

Please don't stop arranging wednesday night race nights, girlfriend loves it as she gets to watch catchup TV shows!

Group hug !  :)

Let's let the dust settle, it was a very uncharacteristic start to a SimRacing race but a few of us on TS predicted that something like that would happen on the first corner.

GT I appreciate your frustrations , I've had an awful few races on here and Core Racing recently. There's many that appreciate the work you put into organising these events and wednesdays wouldn't be the same if they were not to happen.

Not much pre Xmas cheer around here with some of those post race posts!  :-X
I did predict a problem under braking in these!  :P.
Don't give up GT, problem with trying new cars is you just don't know how a race will pan out until the actual event. It would seem the LaF is just not suitable for racing, or not at Monza anyway because of the heavy braking zones. :-\

Apologies for missing this round, I got dragged into a works team Xmas beer at short notice.

The race was disturbed by the annoying restart requests and that made me miss the chicane ones. Slowed down to get about the same distance to Daz again. I had to go careful after a while, because I damaged the engine with the downshifts. Daz did catch me, but probably because of the slight irregularity of the braking he bumped into me. I got back into a normal pace after and made it stick till the end.

Hope you don't quit Tudor. I do like races you create for us

The annoying restart requests were not quite as annoying as looking forward to the race then being taken out in the first lap carnage. Just my point of view, not blaming anyone but in certain situations maybe a restart would be justified.

Even in F1 these things happen  :P It's a learning lesson, an unfortunate event, but one that shouldn't stop anybody racing.

I don't think immediate restarts are a great idea either. Do we all qualify again? have a random grid etc.? Not to mention it might make someone think "if I cause enough grief then it won't matter there is a restart".

When you agree to a restart session it restarts that session, qualify results all remain as is and you just start the race again..

It was me who voted to restart, accident or not it wiped out loads of people so it seemed warrented to just quickly restart and try again.

I can see the point about people just thinking 'oh it doesnt matter, we will get a restart' but who out of all of us who race thinks like that? Id hope nobody does. Restart should be used on the rare occasion (and it is rare as we are all pretty clean) that somethin happens within the forst couple corners. After that no.

If it was me id issue race bans for the person who causes a big accident on the first corner.. Cause a crash on the first corner you miss the next race.

If there were a big collision at the rear end of the field on the first corner, I don't think there would be a "re start" call, just my opinion. ???

I really enjoyed the race  ;D Hope to enjoy next weeks as well, it's racing, things don't always go to plan, it would be very boring if it did.

Don't ban yourself Sharky, your well enough known as an experienced clean racer. If you got on the grass there was no way in hell of stopping the car in time. Just an accident as you have said.

If there is any incidents caused by reckless driving then surely we can just use the 'report an incident' part of the forum and then it can be reviewed independently by moderators on here as per any other series.

My opinion on L1 T1 situation.
Watched reply. Sharky, you did a nice start and went to the right and you just came back a bit to late, braked a bit late and than you were almost forced to the grass by the white car in front. You just tapped the grass with the right wheels and that was enough to loose control. If that would not happen you would be fine. All could be avoided if you would not be so greedy and would take the safe approach and slot back of the white car. That said i think it was an honest mistake that doesn't deserve such "drama". In the end you hit only one car by trying your best to avoid others than i could react a bit different instead of stopping on the track that than created chain crash.

Not organizing races and Sharky banning himself. Isn't that a bit to much?
I'm sort of speak outsider to his forum, so i know it's not really my thing to judge or to tell what you should do, but i'm saying please consider it.

Was a nice race for me anyway. Had quite some damage from T1 but i was trying to hold i think it was P3. Animated cough me and tried a move in Parabolica (last turn). A bit of a dive bomb and you lost front grip, and directly to my rear wheels. It happens. I tough i gave more room than i saw on reply later. Was afraid to go wide and to the gravel. When we rejoined i din't slow down because i wanted you to pass me but because i had damage on rear right suspension and car started to wobble. You slowed down because you didn't want to overtake me after what happened. That all most created a huge crash for you because when i touched the brakes the car snapped and i lost all control sniping to the left wall right in front of you. I was sure you'll collect me but you didn't. Enjoined being chased down by you, next time we'll reverse the roles :P Hopefully i'll pass you cleanly :D hehe

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racing_flags#Red_flag

In the event of a bad start, the yellow and red flags may be displayed together, or a unique diagonally divided red and yellow flag can be displayed, to indicate a restart. Drivers will go back to their starting positions and line up for another start. This is rarely used where computer scoring is involved, and can create much confusion as the drivers attempt to get back in order.

AC doesn't have flags, not sure if thats something coming for the future

Did GT come back with a coffee

Erik, congrats on another win  8) Would you please pick a Ferrari for Imola (one that we can all drive this time please  ;)).

No bans here or self bans or restarts unless the server drops. This is supposed to be fun and drivers first priority should be to not spoil other drivers fun. We've had far too many incidents in these races and this needs to change.

From my point of view, it was not dive bomb. It is how I always brake, little bit earlier but soft braking to snatch any opportunity if someone leave open door.

Watching replay from your car I did notice problem with virtual mirror - I was visible all the time, even when our cars were overlapping so I thought that you were thinking I`m still behind and therefore, turn in like I wasn't there.

To be honest, I wasn't trying to overtake you there, only to deny inside line ... but sh** happens.
Wasn't go to overtake you on home straight because, despite I did nothing wrong imho, responsibility to avoid collision in that kind of situations is always on guy behind. I could brake more but I was surprised thinking that you know where I am.

Multiplayer still isn`t good enough for ligues because of unrealistic behavior on "paint exchange" and too high damage on tap`s so I suggest that we continue only with fun races.
