Next week?????  :o

LOL   On Monday, our son comes back for Christmas from Oz.  My well organised, and retired, life goes straight out the window at that pont!   ;D

To be honest I haven't even asked what might be happening next Thursday but I do know, because I have been told all about it and wasn't listening, that there is a detailed plan covering all logistic issues, clean through to January 8th!  I have even been told when the darn Christmas tree has to come down!  And I haven't bought it yet!   ::)

Good car set again but never heard of the track  ??? Do wish we'd stop using these obscure places personally, I just haven't got the time or inclination to learn a one off place.
Think I'm actually in on this date so hopefully can race  :) but it's the night after my works Xmas doo so may be lagging a bit  :P

The track was a suggestion from Stig, which I have done more testing cars at than any other track this year
so I would like to use it. I am not sure whether the RSR3 will be too fast, but the 2.8 seemed outclassed at
Oulton Park so I have thrown in the 3.0. I hear you MJ, though I think it's good to throw in some new tracks
occasionally. I haven't run at anywhere completely new for months if at all this year, so I can't feel bad about it  ;)

This is the season finale so some last ditch points may be useful  ::)

And there were no others I want to remember   :whistling:

It was very good and worthy of future use.

Don't know this new one.  And may never know.   :(

If we didn't try the occasional new track we would inevitably receive requests not to keep using the same old circuits again and again.

Some fine tracks have been discovered and when popular do get used again. I think of Lakeside as a fine example.

I am not sure whether the RSR3 will be too fast, but the 2.8 seemed outclassed at
Oulton Park so I have thrown in the 3.0.

John's 2.8 RSR beat my 2.0 Escort at Oulton quite comfortably! Although John would probably have beaten me in a shopping trolley! Actually, if this track is quite twisty (haven't tried it yet) then the Escort & 2.8 RSR will be closer to the BMW. If not, I would suggest dropping the Escort & putting the CSL 3.5 12v in as well as the 3.3.

I think I was about a second quicker in the Escort in testing at Oulton. The BMWs were leaving me for dead on the straight, but everywhere else it was a lot closer.

Hmm, My times in the Beemer and RSR3 are a tenth apart, which probably means the RSR will be 2 secs faster
Ok, I will use the same car mix as Oulton, as I suspect in the right hands the 3.0 would be too fast.

This has some slow tight corners as street tracks tend to, but also a couple of 130mph+ straights.
It's a hoot in a fast car  ;D

I can manage 1.47.350 on medium fuel in the Escort, but if you're an ace of brake, you'll be able to go way faster than that  ;D

Don't worry Matt, it's how many you can do without hitting the wall that counts here.   ;D

Oh, and I was right.  Apparently I shall be "enjoying" myself at the York Christmas Market on Thursday.

Joy unbounded!

Bah humbug!

Heck. I haven't got under 50 in anything so far  :o

Well, my lap time was done as a time trial lap, and if I try to simulate a race instead, I can barely get below 50  ???

But as Clive said, it will mostly be a matter of whether or not, you are able to stay clear of in fights with the walls.

I just tried offline  with an ancient Pc with only 1 Gig RAM in it, running the game from a network drive
and it loaded the track, and I could drive fine (though it was a slide show)

Tnx Matt. I will see if i can get it running by re-installing the track.

Edit: I might try deleting some other tracks first. That proved to be a solution for other users in the past so it seems.

People take advantage of our kindly nature.

BTW what has happened to all but one of the PnG Season 9 Championship standings?

All but the Knockout series seem to have become "friendlies"!   ;D

Umm...

GT ends this week, LCC next week, when I post it. PKOSCC has ended, BHCC has ended I just forgot to shout.
next years series are stuck in limbo because it won't let me create the championship scoring, so is WIP.

Also.......... ;D

I just did a few laps on the server.

When I joined, it said in the lobby that there were minus one people on the server, which I thought was strange.

Anyway, it allowed me in.

But when I came out again the server did not appear in the lobby.

And it still hasn't, some 20 minutes later.

Any ideas?

Is this a fairly straightforward track to learn? Not turned a virtual wheel in two weeks and not even installed the track yet!  :P
Will prob attend if I can get some laps in tonight before race start

Not bad.  Only took me a couple of sessions.  It's a good track to drive but not sure how any overtaking is going to happen as the main "straight" is like a donkey's hind leg.

I used my Oulton setup with a slight mod to the brake balance.

Braking points at the end of the straights need some learning as they are not all quite the same
otherwise it has lots of landmarks so not too hard to learn.

Nice track, but maybe a few bugs in it.

CTD in lap 13 in 1st pos. But probably not for long anymore as Geoffers was on my tail all the time and patiently waiting till my softs were gone. Thanks for the pressure and fun Geoffers. I noticed how much better you are as it comes to braking.

A shame everybody seemed to drop off. Wouldn't mind if we did this track again, I think it was fun.

Cheers, Dan

I think you were running different gearing to me Dan, you had better acceleration out of the corners & I was never close enough at the end of the straights to try outbraking. I was on softs too, they would have lasted OK. Yeh the braking was the complete opposite of last week at Le Mans where you were much better on the brakes!

Well I didn't drop off, I pulled over and parked it for lack of competition  ::)

Great track, very scenic and challenging with a few real racers corners. Shame about the turnout! Only 5 after both Stig and Frex had troubles getting/staying in.
I stayed with Geoffers and Dan for all of half a lap before their far quicker Escorts left me behind. Then had a silly half spin under braking and Provaceteur was left with no room but to clip me, so sorry for that.
By lap 10 he'd quit and then Matt quit and I was 50 secs behind the front two  :(...so I parked it.

Worth another event here next season with a fuller turnout, and closer cars!

Shiny new pc, but same old GTR2 CTDs..  :(

Managed a few practice laps to learn the track, but in qually I could not get half way round the lap without being dumped to desktop. This is the first time I've run the game under Win 8 so assumed a compatibility problem or other issue - but with others having their own problems maybe it's the track. We'll see what happens next time. Congrats podium.

I was just wondering if the details going to remain secret for long?   ::)

Not being able to take part I was hoping to be able to see what I missed.    ;D

Or are the championship results in such a delicate state that they can't cope with any more data?

Results and Replay Posted

Geoffers wins the 2014 GT Championship
Clive Loynes is in second place
Fede gets third place

Poor turn out for this one, a couple of people had trouble getting in, perhaps the track? hard to be sure as others managed
without any bother. I tested the track on 3 different PCs with a mix of ATI and NVidia cards and all worked fine.
Grat to the top spot drivers, and thanks to all who took part in the season  :thumbup1:

Congratulations to Geoffers and well done Dan for getting enough points to claim the Team Championship for SBRC!

Not sure how the system separates us from Team7 but it has put SBRC on top.   ;D

I couldn't have passed Geoffers in the championship so no harm done from my no show.  ;D  But it was piggin' cold in York!

I would have used the BMW, which was giving me a qually time of 1:47.3 and a race pace of 1:47.5ish so I think that I would have enjoyed this one.  ::)  Tyres on too good at the end though.

And thanks to Matt for another excellent series.

I was rather enjoying this one as far as it went... I was fastest in the Beemer, I should have stuck to my plan of the RSR3.0
as the 2.8 was no match for the Beemer, but I took it anyway to try to give MJ something to race. Was doing sort of ok
MJ was a bit faster, but not enough to make it pointless, untill I stuffed it in the final turn and the car wouldn't steer anymore
so had to park it.  :(

Was a good idea of Stig's this one, I would like to give a run next year but I could do with some testing by those who were
unable to join to make sure the track is not flawed. Ta.

PS  Since the drivers think that they did thirteen laps and the results say eleven, I haven't bothered with an analyser report.   ::)
