Season 27 Amateurs Trophy - Round 10– Zandvoort

Round 10 for the Season 27 Amateurs Trophy in mod 1965 will be at Zandvoort  in the Netherlands.
This will be the last round of this Trophy.
The Trophy winner is already known, but the second position will be a hard fight between Johnny P, Dave C and RogUK.

The race will be run under INT rules and only one reset is allowed, followed by a stop and go in the pits.

Congratulations to Dave R he has been fast and consistent all season- well done. I threw this one away with 5 laps to go by amazingly losing my way and suddenly was going miles too fast for the next turn... a nice second place though. Thank you to all involved for making a great season- the Amateurs is getting really good with many drivers now able to go for pole and win. See you all next season.

Grats to Rainier on race win and Amateur Champ
Well done to Johnny P coming 2nd and Dave Curtis 3rd in Amateurs

Enjoyed this race even though i was late and started at back, sorry to Fabio early in race as i was going to fast to avoid your parked car, eventually got back on track and car ok but pack had disappeared.  Great season with all good drivers to race with.

That’s another season completed.
Congratulations to Rainier on the win & the title. Thanks to my Black Night team mates for taking the Ams team championship. (We do have rather more drivers than the opposition, but maybe they can add to their ranks for next season).
The fastest race laps are all quite closely bunched & the season has been quite competitive across the field – although Rainier & Johnny are a bit more competitive.
Had a consistent race, only one small spin in 33 laps. In past seasons that would probably have been good enough to win an Ams race. After the first few laps Bastian was always a bit too far ahead & the next car too far back to make a race of it but the Zandvoort has enough turns to keep it interesting.

Congrats Dave R. Season Champ and runner ups Johnny P & Dave C!

I have to apologize to Johnny P because I should have given you more room the first time that you lapped me. From my perspective, I rejoined the track in a dangerous manner, and I was lucky that I did not take out the leader of the race! I had a few more off track expeditions. My lap times might have been quicker if I were driving a dune buggy! I began to worry that my driving was a danger to others. So I decided to watch the rest of the race from the pits.

Thank you Dave Rainier and Billy NoBrakes for moderating our division.

I hope to be more competitive next season. This past season was derailed in September after taking a short vacation. Then afterwards I could not find time to race, but I think all has settled down again. As for my car choice next season, it will either be a car that I have not yet tried or I might take the Ferrari for a encore.

I am very happy with this win at Zandvoort but Johnny P. was always quicker than me.

Except he made one, only one, mistake at 5 laps to the finish.
Even with Johnny making a gap more and more important, lap after lap, I never gave up and so I could win after his mistake.
I also had to be quick during the first part of the race because Bastian was not so far. (Probably, I could won thanks to Bastian pressure !!).

I crossed the finish line with no more fuel ...500 meters more and Johnny could have been the winner !

During this season, I enjoyed to drive the Honda. Next season, I will surely race with the Pros and will choose the Lotus to have a little hope to not be ridiculous.
(For the Pros, my race  time would have give me the 8th position)

Congrats to the podium,  particularly DR/JP;  but another good outing by that Grupp fellow!
I should also congratulate the Nobrakes brothers,  could only manage to beat #22 as he was a no-show... :)

Apologies for the biff(s) Bernie.   For the big one,  it became all too clear a bit sudden-like, that I was heading straight for the wall along the s/f straight if I carried on.  I'd forgotten about the narrowing of the track at that point.    Shame,  I'd managed to not hit you for a while until then...

Thanks for an entertaining season.  Presumably will see at least some of you if there is a '65 fun event over the holiday period.  Otherwise,  roll on season 28!

Cheers,
Dave.

Moderation posted.

Thanks to all for this season.
Moderation was quite easy during this season in this Trophy as all drivers made real efforts to avoid stupid incidents, and made proof of their maturity.
Grats to all  :thumbup2:
