Ferrari Challenge Round 3

Welcome to our first Assetto Corsa championship featuring a trio of Ferraris at Italian tracks. This is an unofficial championship and there will be no moderation of events but drivers are of course encouraged to uphold our usual standards of excellent driving to ensure maximum enjoyment for all.

Well, my graphics card is managing a capped 59FPS on medium, on the SROU server but with just me on it. So, fingers crossed, it should be playable to race.  :)

How many laps down will I finish doing 1:45s?

Oh wow, i love this car! with the abs and TC on its so easy to drive. turning them off turns it into a bit of an animal!

Err its actually a 599xx evo in game. Feels like it might be slightly too quick for GT2s annoyingly, not compared them tho.

Only done a couple of laps and in the 45's so you should be ok Tibs. Have you done a race with the AI? FPS is always going to drop with more cars on track, especially at the start.

I'm happy to avoid this race if you want to keep me away, but I'm quite an Imola fan so would like to join and try not to cause anymore stupid shunts?

Had dire problems with framerate for the ESRA league race last week, so hoping I don't get the same for this one. Bad software, they need to fix it ASAP!

Sorry for the late server start. It appears there is a limit to how big a server name can be and if it's too big the game seems unable to understand the car selection  ::)

Dammit, I saw it go up at 7.15 and booked in, then went and practiced. When I returned to the lobby, the Join option became available after Booking ended, so I tried to join. It said I needed to refresh the server info, did that a few times then finally realised I was no longer on the booking list??

No use, strange thing this, I just lose control and got it again after pressing Alt-Tab but the car was ruined already, hit the wall, sat in the sand.  :( Don't know what causes this. :no:

Sorry Darren my fault, there were loads of errors in the output file and my PC was doing a Windows update. I couldn't see anything to say someone had successfully booked in and took what I thought was the right action :(

No worries Bob, race was already a bit ruined because of an tap in the first lap/corner(ish). Sorry to Johnny for backing up to him at my crash, didn't see you coming back on track yourself. Was good fun catching and passing until that final crash. Thanks guys for letting me pass so cleanly  :thumbup1:

Lap 16 I lost the back and damaged my 2 left hand wishbones then had to limp to the finish.

Apologies to Chris T on Lap 1, misjudged braking and hit you, my fault. After that I tootled round on the grass to get back on and then Erik t-boned me reversing back on. No worries Erik. I let Erik past on the straight thinking it might be a good idea to chase him and catch up the pack as I was dead last at that point. Turned out to be a good plan as, although I lost sight of Erik I got everyone else in view and started making my way up. Had some good racing with Paul and managed to get through the later accident wondering what had happened there and come out 4th and on the tail of Chris T but couldn't quite catch him over the last 5 laps. Thoroughly enjoyed the chase though.

Firstly, apologies to Paul for the incident at the top chicane. I came up behind you very quickly 3 laps before; I can only think that you has suffered damage to your car.  You defended very well thwarting several of my attempts to pass. I thought i had figured out where the best place to pass you was but......

JonnyX I was watching you in my mirror and thought "just keep it on the black stuff", but you were nibbling away every lap, at the same time my driving got more and more ragged.

Good racing but I certainly didn't deserve my placing.

Really didn`t expect front row, not in Imola. Ok, I know this track like my back pocket but problem is that I know that I have one only not sure is it left or right back pocket ...  :blink:
 
Little explanation - favourite corners are Villeneuve and Acque Minerali but I can not stand Tosa, Variante Alta and both Rivazza`s - to be perfectly honest, I like Tosa and Variante Alta only as a spectator.
 
But finishing the race 2nd behind Chris on my sight all the time ... FUBAR (there is good and bad one - this was good)  :yes:

AFAIK it only happens online so it might be some connection interruption? 

i haven't seen the replay but I'm guessing your went out of control/crashed unexplainably. I had this on a core racing event at Silverstone and it happened to Paul a t Monza on Sunday. Yes only online, my and Paul's pings were very acceptable so still a mystery.

Something's gone wrong because markbeszant finished 10th but has no points in your table, Chris R won but the table shows Chris Thorpe with the 30 points when he actually finished 4th. MJ didn't race but picked up points. Might be others too.

I've got no points showing for round 3 :-(

Chris (Sutol), no worries mate, I think with us being of similar ability we are often going to be battling it out on the same piece of track, just adds to the fun  :D

Sounds like I missed an action packed race at one of my fave tracks  :'( not even driven this Ferrari in AC yet.

TT, is your psu powerful enough for your other hardware? I used to have a similar problem in IR days and it proved to be inadequate psu that only got overloaded mid sim race and controllers would lose their control.
Failing that, a background prog like antivirus kicking in? Or maybe Logitech controller software?

Ps...what's up next?  :)

Thanks Pete. Champ table updated. In my defence it's kinda hard guessing which driver is which from the graph when the code letters used are so similar. Shout out if anyone spots more errors and it will be fixed.

I'm planning a fun event for next week (details posted soon) and then a break for the holidays before starting up again on 7th January by which time I'm hoping full v1.0 will be upon us. A couple of fun/test races will then be followed by some more championship series featuring a range of cars and tracks  :)
