Stardust GT Fun - 60fpsV1 - Jan 9 2015

To not forget the Fridays Fun Series we offer a GT race on this pretty new track of Ginetto.

Long time gone track, Stardust was built in 1965 by the Stardust Hotel and Casino.
It hosted the season finale of the Can-Am Championship between 1966 and 1968.
In 1969 the Stardust hotel was sold and the new owners largely abandoned the track; leased for a while then the whole land was sold.
In 1970 track was closed and Spring Valley community took its place.

Everybody is welcome!

There will be no limits but a gentlemanlike behaviour is expected  ;D

Got a work call 10 mins from end of qually, went on for a bit. Missed joining the grid...it is really frustrating how long it makes you wait to join in after the rest of you had started - you were 0.7 miles ahead of me..had pretty much lost interest because of that, tried to run for a few laps, but gave up and went and did something else. Nice to drive the Porsche again, been a while..

:) 60fpsV1 did work fine on my side.
got 49fps at start and during race never under 56fps
did had all grafic options to max, ass well all mirror objects on inside GPL and ,of course, virtual mirror in car view.

only trouble I got was after joining via Igor: green button-box for going on track was covered by an bigger grey one layed over. Happend after I switch to chat and back.
well did shut down GPL via taskmanager an reentered via IP. All fine then ... ;)

 ???general question:
if join via IGOR, does that mean all that chat stuff, race list etc. runs in the backround ?
I noticed that Ìgor window doesnt shut down after GPL started via join button

If so, joining via IP saves resources could improve 60fps usage ?

Nicky as far as I can see, IGOR closes and starts gplcxx.exe and
gplsecurloader.exe wich seems to be a program that brings you back where you where, with minimal CPU load.
This is not started if you start GPL in Multiplayer mode.

I suspect that you had something running in background, maybe Avira update with its nerving ads popping up at bottom right  ;)

PS
I manualy start the avira update whenever I start the server, to avoid such things, as this update eats up to 50% of CPU load :o

PS

I do expect your proposals for the next Fridays!

e.g.  69X at Montjuich or Spa67 (60fpsV1) - the ultimate test for your PC

:) Axel, thx for responding to my questions. ok joining via Igor should not be a resource killer ...

yeah, I know about that Avira update circumstances and do same as you. plus I set active scan to passive.
not sure atm ,if todays Avira could be stopped loading by changes via ms.config. Will check that again. cause thats the best way to be on save side....

proposals:
69xmod for sure an good test parameter for 60fps.
Unsure if its attractive to undecided 36/60fps folks to test always on tracks naturally do create most heavy load on system. I can see the point why testing on that kinda tracks is important.
Otherwise , to collect experience on how great 60fps can be , a race on a track ,which is wellknown good and easy working online, could useful to attract the use of 60fps......

maybe 69x at Monza or Watkins Glenn ...?

To Nicky : it is important to do responsible testing, before making everyone use something made by a renegade software writer.  It needs realistic testing, to decide if some or all Mods will work for all, some, or no-one.  This is being done correctly. :)

This  "Renegade" made some of the best things that could happen to GPL!!!

He is the lonely finnish guy with his own head....

I thank him for FFB2 the only real feeling in the wheel

I thank him for making OpenGL running with pribluda

I thank him most for the biggest step, the 60fps, without this I would have dumped GPL years ago!

Some leagues "test" it flawless more than 5 years :P

EOL GentlemenLiga Funliga AusGPL Groundhog -> UKGPL....

I think brr left after one argument/disagreement too many sadly.

At Syracuse, I forgot we were using 60fps ! Along with ffb2.. both are great steps forward for GPL.

Rob is having trouble starting Spa67 with 69x, so I think you may be right Axel :P

I'd say lets run some of the great new tracks that we haven't raced much yet, like Stardust.. it was great to explore it with GTs/mods! 8)

I would love to!
When I contacted him he was very helpfull, but he told me that it needed the cooperation with some GPL guys to make it final :-[

I know some guys doing system programming, those are special people thinking in 0 1 0 1 pure machine code, absolute logic,
they solve every IT problem you give them, but they are seldom able to handle real life problems...

For the next Friday

We will race 69X in 2 short 10 lap races at Opatija

first race with 60fpsV1
second race with 36fps

I hope you can see and feel the difference ::)

I do expect your proposals for the next Fridays!

I would not mind racing at Daytona on January 23rd (69X, SC or CA).

Good and bad news.. Ginetto is back, but has lost all his GPL work in what must have been a hard drive crash :'(
