Just as a sanity check :)  is this a 60FPS test/fun race?

[we haven't signed up for s28 yet have we?]

Cheers,
Dave.

Oh dear. Told the Mrs that I would be having a break from GPL until the new season gets underway. I think this one might be too tempting.

??? ??? ??? cant make AI faster then 3-49-xx (tried via GEM ) ,which is of about 15sec off..........

searched srmz for that specific AI fix , but no luck.
Definately I dont have the time to to study how to built AI fixes from scratch. I am ok with copy/paste and edit

plz no answers like `why you practise offline against AI, better to practise online.... ` :)

If possible I'd like to race here, hoping to free myself for the race.
The only thing I find strange is the times table, as the track is the new version of Spa and not the old Papy original, to what it refer?

Roberto,
the SROU database has only one Spa 1947-78,
so we will have to live with this situation until we manage to be faster on the new track ::)

I have allready asked for an other solution...

Hmm, given that old Spa is faster, what about naming that one Spa 68-78? New Spa 48-67?

The confusion here is that papy Spa counts for original 67, but the new one is titled 67 - a workaround could be to call new Spa 'Spa -66' on the database, representing the movie Grand Prix/pre-JYS Spa, and have old Spa as 67- to match with papy/original GPL. Cue inevitable confusion when Spa '67 is called Spa '66 though .

The best compromise is probably to name papy Spa as the one that represents the safety modifications around the track post-67 and before it was abandoned. But let original Spa point at that one, and new Spa at new Spa?

Apologies to anyone caught up in my accident at Eau Rouge. No real preesure, just the back end went. Sorry

As for 60fps, i don't mind it, but on my current PC (which is on its way out) i run between 36 and 48 fps on Spa 67 low res version. This makes it a bit juddery to drive and not smooth at all. Thats not to say i don 't like 60fps. Nothing a new PC won't fix.. hopefully later this year

Strange.  Tried to join in the server twice, got a "cannot start the replay system" error message, then got disconnected.

Mark, this is really a shame!

Look in core.ini

[ Replay ]
replayMemoryOverride = 256000

Test it with different size  ;)

As my F2 experience is zero wanted to start at the back of the grid so did no qually run. For some reason I ended up starting from the pit lane 16 seconds behind everyone!. Pribluda then shows me one lap down which I wasn't(that's normal). Apologies for the accident on the last lap I lost concentration because I expected the flag which didn't appear & was convinced the race was over & was about to pull off when it happened. When I was following I think Dave C his car kept disappearing don't know if that is 60fps or just the normal thing which sometimes happens with GPL.

<SNIP!>
When I was following I think Dave C his car kept disappearing don't know if that is 60fps or just the normal thing which sometimes happens with GPL.

I didn't see any issues with other cars disappearing [only into the distance...]  although there were some times where the latency bar thingies made an appearance in the corner of the screen.

Hopefully I'm not turning into another driver with cloaking abilities  ;D
But (& I'm sure this goes for everyone)  let me know if there are issues out there!

Downloading the replay to check from server perspective;   incidentally - the link on the race details just needs to be updated to point to season28 instead of sason27 :)     ftp://ukgpl3.dyndns.org/Replays/Archive/Season28/FunRaces/ (ftp://ukgpl3.dyndns.org/Replays/Archive/Season28/FunRaces/)

Cheers,
Dave.

Thanks Dave ;) corrected...

If you see all other cars warping, there is allways the plausibility it's yourself!

For me it's most fearfull to follow a warping car, or someone who uses wlan and dissappears frequently :o

I have the luxury to have the server next door, so I know I can't warp ;)

 ;D

Maybe next time I'll add the GPL server public address to PRTG to keep tabs on it.... ;)

Success!

From now on SROU database will count the new track Spa67 records!
It takes over the name Spa (1947-78) but not the fastest times.

The papy track is listed as Spa(GPL) and keeps the old records.

Perfect solution 8)! Nicely done! Spa (GPL) we will know is the original Spa for GPL, as it makes no mention of a year, hence can only be the original papy Spa.

My race would have been more enjoyable if I was in the Lotus 41B (but I don't think I've ever driven it; I would have had to make a setup in ten minutes. So, I went with one I knew, Rob's in M4A, which gave a good race last time), and Mark could join in too. But as it happened, I started mid-pack anyway after flying off at Blanchimont ::).

I thought I'd struggle to catch up to the lead group once I got up to 4th, but as it happens, from passing Arf at the end of lap 1, I had a lonely race after the leading trio collided at Masta :(. I almost fell asleep as I was tired; that would have looked funny in the replay if I did !
