cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.

rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v3 from:  http://gtlw-blog.flyingpig.info/
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

Why is it called the world series if it's just using US muscle cars?  :-\ shouldn't it be classic American GT/Touring car series?   :P

Umm, well, my (possibly wonky) thinking is...... the Americans have "World Series" for sports, but only American teams seem to play
so here we have an American style "world series" for cars. But we will be visiting other parts of the world.
It's a V8 muscle car series, so North America and Australia, with other places stuck in perhaps.

Quiet around here again!  :sleep1:

It seems to be the norm these days that there is very little discussion about the races. At GC & NG too there are virtually no comments about the events either before or after, guess people just can't be bothered.  :(

Although I must admit to being guilty at times!  :-[

Ditto. Although there wasn't much to say about last week, so I didn't bother!
Don't think I'm going to be able to make this one, and am on holiday next week, so have a good couple of races.

Glen Watkins is a nice track IMO.

The Vette seems to be a winner here ................. if you can handle it  :1eye:

I'm sure the rocket-pack will be 3-4 secs faster per lap than me here, but the good thing about a track this long is, that the chance of being lapped is smaller  :sweatdrop:

Yeh seems quicker than the Weslake Falcon (only 2 I've had time to try), but it eats the tyres, even the hard ones, so should be interesting over the last few laps  :o.

As long as people turn up  :thumbup1:
There seems to be a resurgence of GTL this year, which is a good thing. Tony has put a lot of work in
so deserves some results. My series this year are fairly simple, the cars for some are mostly the same
each event, so less need to chat about which car, less complaints from the back benches hopefully
I used to get a lot of comments about having to learn new tracks, and different cars, so this year
half the series will be very easy to do as the cars will remain mostly the same. Though I will still be
introducing a new track now and then.

I kind of like that Matt. As i cant find enough time to try every available car for P&G and GTL i like the fact i am returning to some tracks we visited before, so at least i know which way we're going. And with this set of cars i can sample another car fairly easy, next to the one i already raced last event. So it enables me to see how they compare more easily and spent that time on car set-up.

As it looks now i will be trading in the Mustang for a Vette this time. It does great around here. Not sure about tire wear though....

Click HERE (http://www.planet-venom.co.uk/PnG/WatRep/index.html) for Analyser Report

My race report can be summed up as "Made a flyer and hung on for grim death!".

The hanging on part was made more entertaining by Evil's attempts to get past in his gutless Shelby CASC and I do appologise for causing him grief.  My tyres were shot and on the last left-hander of the lap, the back just snapped around and whilst I had my elbows tied in a knot I think that he hit me or the wall, or both!  Nothing that I could do about it as I had my own struggle, trying to keep my beast out of the wall!

I really don't think that the SBRC setups have hit the sweet spot on these big monsters just yet.  More work required.

Grats to Federico and Geoffers they were in a different class.

I could almost taste the champagne on the podium! It was there, mere millimetres beyond my reach and coming closer as the laps counted down...... :-\ :-\ :-\

I had done almost everything right for this race.
1) downloaded the track and tried a few laps on Wed evening and noted that Feders was going to be in the 2:04's. hmmmm?!!
2) tweaked the setup for the CASC from Birmingham with longer gearing and got times down to 2:07 on race fuel, and medium tyres that looked like they might last.

3) Turned up for the race and got my race pace sorted first with a nice low 2:07 and about 6th spot on the grid.
4) Did that rare thing for me, tried a qually run with soft tyres and low fuel.......shocked to pop up in 3rd on the grid.
5) I thought I was very team spirited and gentlemanly in allowing Mr Loynes to pass me into T1 so that he could attack Geoffers and Federico ( it had nothing to do with my crappy clutch control!!  honest )
6) Protected my tyres for the first few laps before stretching the legs of the Mustang and pulling away from Simon to a comfortable distance.
7) Held a watching brief on Clive's car at about 4 secs until half distance, then began to turn the screw and close him down.
8) The tyres were looking good to last the race and I could really push, taking a couple of tenths out of Clive on each lap.
9) even a small mistake that dropped me back 3 secs was easily recovered and I was all over Clive's bootlid like a monkey in a safari park
10) As the laps clicked down it looked like the pressure was beginning to tell on the Corvettes rear tyres and I could smell blood ( and champagne)
11) I was backing off in places to avoid rear ending Clive so I knew I was quicker and just needed that opportunity to poke my nose through.
12) With 3 laps to go it happened as Clive went sideways out of the penultimate corner and the open road ahead beckoned through the inside line...woohoo!!!! ;D

until Clive arrowed back across the track!!!!! I tried to avoid slapping the bonnet of my "team mate" and even went onto the grass on the inside ( such was the level of grip that I still had  ;) )  in an attempt to avoid contact. Only to be eased into the end of a concrete wall by my "team mate".

I lost 2 places as I peeled myself off of the concrete and rejoined with a car that did not like to go in a straight line even on the straights!! Simon had a spin and I regained one spot and Postal threatened to catch me but I found enough speed to keep him away and finish 5th.............and no champagne, my team mate had guzzled it all!!  :'( :'(

Good result, but an (almost) uneventful race.

Usual abysmal start, but fortunately nearly everyone behind was equally slow off the line, except Clive  ::). He nosed ahead down to T1 but I had the inside line & was a tad later on the brakes. I gave Clive a good tow up the long hill & again he got alongside, not far enough though & I held 2nd place. After that I succeeded in opening a gap & set off after Federico, for a few laps it looked like I might be able to keep pace but after setting fastest lap the tyres were already on the way out & I was soon a second & a half a lap slower.

Still pulling away from Clive, I just tried to keep it smooth & lap consistently. It all worked out fine until the very last turn of the last lap when I went in too quick & lost the rear, nosed first into the inside barrier & was lucky that the car bounced back facing the right direction, so just knocked it down to first & trundled over the line with a sigh of relief!  :whistling:

Congrats to Federico (superb pace) & Clive.

Hello everyone :),
already by Friday I had seen that the Shelby GT350R was more stable and medium soft tires was a good combo :D.
I tested the Corvette and much faster Cirac 10 Km but the tires could not keep them in temperature ???.
During qualifying I mount the soft and put 30 liters begin to turn (great time remain open-mouthed :o).
For the race I had to be careful to start and keep the corvette's furthest possible even if the tires consumed more ', in the end I managed to pull Geoffers lap after lap.
Congratulations to Geoffers that in the early laps I put pressure :).

Congratulations to Geoffers and Clive and all ;D.

Hello to the next.

Well done and congratulations to Federico and Geoffers.

I can't keep any tyres on any of these beasts.  I finished on the rims as expected.

Still haven't figured if my iffy brake lights are down to a bad pot or my stupid left foot!
