Season 28 - 60fpsV1 – Porsche 910 Cup - Spa-Francorchamps 67

We had a server crash after 6 laps last Friday...  ???

The Porsche 910 Cup FUN RACE will be at the new challenging SPA67 in Belgium.

The race will be run under INT rules and you have no car choice  ;D
You can do 2x shift+r but each has to be followed by a stop and go in the pits!

We will use the 60fpsV1 (ftp://ukgpl3.dyndns.org/Replays/Archive/Season27/60fps/) to test if your PC can handle the challenge.
The lightest track version should be used as the GT mod is really heavy!
get it here (http://spa67.gplworld.de/)

Hi Guys.  May I partecipare to this race?
I think I'll have to reinstall a lot of things to make  my rig functioning back again.
In case my request  Will be granted  then  Axel  should  give  me a hand  with  a few  files I dont have anymore.

Certo Sergio!

You are more than welcomed!

If you haven't upgraded your PC yet, Spa67 will be a very hard challenge! Even more with the GT's...

Take the lowres version + the LITE 3D pack

You will find the links in the race post.

Thanks m8. Fortunately I've already updated my pc to a quad core INTELL with 8gb of ddr2 and 1gb of video ram so it should be not a problem to run the game at max details... At least I hope. ;-)
I've seen the new Spa in some video but I don't know if the Spa you're talking about is the one I've seen.  That spa is fantastic but the graphic is a little flat because there is no apparence of  Shadows on the ground.  Everything seems to be suspended in the air also spectators standing on the grass while in another part of the circuit the shadows of trees are extremely longs 8-)

Last but not least,  is a spot event or a championship event?

My frame drop tonight was wayy worse than Friday (I am using the standard graphics pack). I know you say use the low res version, but having run this on Friday and again tonight, it was like I had installed the high-res pack. Got frame drop at half the corners...

Thought you see me in mirrors...

Yes fot GT I use the lowres+lite pack to have no risk!
When I do a sightseeing lap I take the full highres :D

Great racing FUN tonight with Roberto, shame you crashed...

I noticed some frame drop at the start, but that was from having 13 GTs on the screen. Less cars on Friday, Colin? I guess the GTs are big cars for fps. Standard here is like Hi-Res elsewhere, and Hi-Res here is probably like Super-Hi-Res . Low-res/lite is like normal for everywhere else.

Apart from taking the best part of 10 gallons too many (fuel counter was totally wrong), a fun race here, but I was sad when I passed Clive out of Les Combes, and he caught the barrier on the outside (rebounding into Dean, who then Shift-r'd in front of Colin). We could probably have diced until race end the three of us! Instead, a lonely race from then on :(.

It was interesting when we had a queue of 5 cars nose-to-tail early on! Maybe if I hadn't wiped myself out at Masta also I might have been able to catch up with KingHiro. Nice to have some fog as well 8), maybe that added to the drop for some?

I missed the post about using the lite version and joined the race on my normal settings. If I had been thinking I would have known that the GT's are heavy on graphics  ::).

Qually was OK with about 27fps as I left the pits but that got up to around 47-50fps for most of the lap. I only saw a couple of cars during qualifying runs so never actually "tested" the graphics.
But the start was a nightmare!!  As cars joined the grid the frame rate dropped to 12fps with them all sat still,  :scared: and when the flag dropped....they all vanished and the frame rate dropped into single figures.

I drove off the grid slowly ( sorry if that caused probs behind) but I could not see another car anywhere until I got to the middle of Eau Rouge and suddenly 3 cars appeared stationary across the track in front of me.

I managed to miss them and as I climbed over the crest more cars materialised ahead.

The race was not good for me as I have not driven the GT's for many months and had forgotten how to max out the Porker. As a result I was over driving and as soon as I got close to 2 or more cars my frame rate took a dive.
No fault to Iestyn for my wreck. I moved wide to let you through, hoping to slipstream you for a while and relax, but I think the low frame rate caused me to misjudge the barrier position on the outside of the bend and.......  so i went to bed  :-\

I had no real problems with frame rate counts.  I think that lowest value I saw was 34fps going by the pits on a flyer.  The start presented no stutters or major dips as we left the line and headed into Eau Rouge.

Fun ripping around the Belgian countryside in this superb rendering but my, there seemed to be a mindset of this being a one-lap sprint.  I was witness to a lot of what might charitably be called 'aggressive' driving.  Could have been billed as the UKGPL/UFC Porsche Smack-Down.

Yes Doni, I know I am guilty...

My race was a sprint race for the full distance, as we had a crash in 1st LaSource ::)

I had to stay in Robertos tow, or he would have been gone...

No problem Axel. Thanks again for running this.

With reference to the point raised by Doni, with which I agree, I have to say this has been a common feature of nearly all the races at the new Spa. Some people seem very determined to win here, at all costs. Me, well I'm just enjoying the scenery at the moment

I love the Stuttgart Schweinchen, in affectionate sense, I consider her a yardstick, though in some ways it is so easy to drive just that makes so difficult to find the gap to stay ahead.

I did this race mainly to see if my system is able to withstand the track, for now, more demanding, with the more demanding mods, shame not to have been fully booked.

I'm pretty happy with my performance, if was not for having found Martin in the middle of Carrière, maybe I'd be able to get under 3:35 to without any help of trails.

In regard to those who think they can win right from the first corner, unfortunately Spa has a difficult start, because of the very short and downhill start straight followed immediately by the Eau Rouge, where you can't pass side by side, so many are misled and make mistakes without any meaning to do.

Very different from those who, despite the long experience, are not aware of what is happening around, even in the easiest parts of the track.
