Title: 2015 GTL Christmas Special Post by: Wiltshire Tony on February 02, 2015, 12:47:29 PM +0000 To celebrate the end of our (hopefully) successful 1950's season there will be a Christmas Special
All details at this time are provisional. Any LM55 car Pit stops Dawn or dusk Watch out for the official race announcement which will be released sometime later this year. Title: Re: 2015 GTL Christmas Special Post by: EvilClive on February 02, 2015, 01:06:57 PM +0000 I think this proves that Tony has a hidden, sadistic side to his amiable public face!!
can't wait!!! :P But do I use the Monster Mazza??? just to be sure that I really suffer? Title: Re: 2015 GTL Christmas Special Post by: Wiltshire Tony on February 02, 2015, 01:18:48 PM +0000  MHAA HA HA HA HA

Not yet clear on our Christmas plans - don't know if body or water tablets will allow me to drive for that length of time. ??? Title: Re: 2015 GTL Christmas Special Post by: BillThomas on March 24, 2015, 11:50:18 AM +0000 Link to Solitude would be useful or are there multiple versions? ;)

Yes I am that
I've had a rethink about the venue so I'm afraid it will not be Solitude this year. But the track I hope to use is IMO of equal quality and will suit the Fifties LM cars just as well. However I'm undecided about the evenings format so I would love to hear your opinions. Should we have one epic Endurance event or hold two or three Sprint distance events with car swopping? We could even have a couple of races, one using the Fifties LM cars and another using some GTC-65 cars. Let me know if you have a preference please. Thanks Tony Title: Re: 2015 GTL Christmas Special Post by: 55steve55 on June 01, 2015, 03:42:55 PM +0100 I prefer the sprints ( 3 would be good) with car changes. GTC-65's and LM55's as you suggest, but perhaps a race with GTC-TC-76's too. Assuming I am not away visiting, dawn or dusk are both ok with me.

Title: Re: 2015 GTL Christmas Special Post by: EvilClive on June 02, 2015, 10:00:59 AM +0100 On a purely "racer" level, I would prefer the LM55's in an endurance race at a classic period track ( Solitude fitted the bill I felt).
But, I am acutely aware that getting permission to spend a couple of hours "playing" over the Christmas period with all of the pressures of family and friends might cause a domestic friction for some. ::). Maybe we could hold 3 shorter races ( even on different circuits but with the same car) and work a cumulative result on accrued time....or is that a mathematical nightmare??!! Title: Re: 2015 GTL Christmas Special Post by: Wiltshire Tony on June 02, 2015, 11:15:56 PM +0100 Clive, the replacement track has the same racing pedigree as solitude and will be very familiar to you ;)

Title: Re: 2015 GTL Christmas Special Post by: Bill Grewcock on June 22, 2015, 09:22:20 PM +0100 Maybe a couple of 45 minute races with a 15 minute break between end of race 1 and start of quali 2 ?
Title: Re: 2015 GTL Christmas Special Post by: Wiltshire Tony on June 22, 2015, 11:05:40 PM +0100 Two races would appeal to me
Title: Re: 2015 GTL Christmas Special Post by: Wiltshire Tony on July 19, 2015, 02:58:08 PM +0100 This years Christmas Special will comprise of two consecutive rounds of Sprint racing (40 mins each) with a ten minute break between them.

I have no experience of those BMW thingies, so I will have to download the cars and give them a spin...don't think i know Fuji either! Ah well must order more midnight oil for the autumn I guess. ;) Title: Re: 2015 GTL Christmas Special Post by: Wiltshire Tony on July 21, 2015, 06:59:51 PM +0100 Liking the idea of the 55's , ;D ;D ;D The GTL Montlhery circuit isn't the full length one that you GPL pilots use (and which a certain GPL driver currently has the lap record for :whistling:). It's about three quarter length. Fuji '82 is an easy circuit to learn but it's high speed corners can catch you out.I have no experience of those BMW thingies, so I will have to download the cars and give them a spin...don't think i know Fuji either!
