Season 28 – Historic Trophy

This season, races are to be run at 60fps – please use this patch 60fpsV2newmod (ftp://ukgpl3.dyndns.org/Replays/Archive/Season27/60fps/). If you have issues read festers post below!
Drivers must complete 50% of each race to score.

The races will be run as follows:

Car set: 1966 F1 only
Date: Every second Tuesday from 17th March 2014
Time: no later then 9:00pm UK Time (30-60 mins practice, race starts at 9:30pm)
Race Length: 40 – 45 minutes
Damage Model:  Pro
Server: TBA
Race List: IGOR

To make things easier for our first season of 60 fps, I will aim for better known tracks.

Handicapping
No handicaps will apply apart from the engine restriction. This is whilst we get used to the 60fps usage.

The 66 mod and 66fpsv2newmod

I was one of those who could only run the 66 mod with 60fpsv1. This is how I fixed it. There's no need to uninstall anything

Run "gpl1966complete_1.1"
Delete the "gpl66" folder from gpl\Mods\GEM+
Run "1966mod_PATCH_v2.0_Setup"
Delete "gplc66.exe" from the gpl folder
Run GEM+, select 66 mod and 60fpsv2newmod

It worked for me. I hope it works for you.

In order to use the 60fpsV2newmod, you need your 66 mod fully up to date, i.e. fully patched, i.e. download that 2.0 patch :) .

Not sure if I will be home on time or even if there will be a space on the grid st the first race is, afterall, Monza.

Have registered as a Reserve.

I won't be home in time, also registered as a reserve in this well attended division. Prolly a full grid at Monza ;) Will prolly do some 2L races if the grids allow for it this season...

I'm registered as a reserve in three divisions but this is the only one where it's an issue. What's the procedure for reserves joining a race?

I can't make tonight. Arthritis in the hand. It lasts no more than 36 hours. It doesn't happen very often. It's only happened twice this year. Both on race nights. Sigh. I've named this condition Freeloaders Hand because it makes putting my hand in my pocket excruciatingly painful.

If there is a real full server:

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 30 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 25 mins of qualifying left. 

I think you have gone for the wrong sort or arthritis there Steve.  Mine just hurts all the time, so it doesn't stop me doing anything as it's going to hurt anyway!
But probably not as much as yours.  ::)
