Matt, in race 1 is just the TR4 that is allowed or are the TR4A & TRS allowed too?

I am praying that our server copes with the load, it should, but it has been throwing some wobblers recently
not particularly load related, but of all days to go AWOL this would be the worst.  :sweatdrop:

After our races tonight, I will set up the GC WSL server with Lakeside for practice & as a backup.

Just a simple question, from a simple person...
What is the easiest way to work the Srouk into our names?  Do I create a new identity within PnG and use that for these races??

Hi Martin, hi all,
I try to explain it:

1) Go to P&G installation folder
2) UserData
3) Folder with your name, (for example Ayrton Senna) and you have to add in front of the name [SROUK]Ayrton Senna
4) Inside the folder above there are 2 files to rename, the first is Ayrton Senna.gal which will become [SROUK]Ayrton Senna.gal and the second is Ayrton Senna.plr which will become [SROUK]Ayrton Senna.plr (you can open it with note pad to read).
This way you can keep all the setup and adjustments of the game (wheel, graphics card etc. etc.).

I forgot, you can make a copy of the original files and use the new ones that you renamed or old ones simply by selecting them in the game (double user).

I hope that what I wrote is understandable...but I have some doubts ::)

I can report that both Clives have managed to create their [SROUK] persona and were on the server tonight along with Otto and Federico.

So if we can do it then the rest of you have no excuse.

Matt was still his old self but then what do you expect at his age?   ::)

I noticed the race server is currently set for only 16 drivers!

It usually is when in practice mode and running a number of sims at the same time.

When it's a proper race, the other sims are shut down and you get the full monty!

Hey guys, it looks like work will prevent me from doing any racing tonight. >:( So if there is another SROUK member who wants to participate i will give up my spot on the grid. If not, i will probably be home by the time qualy for Race 2 starts and will attend the last race.

The GTR2 servers seems to default to 16 when it is reset after other sim events.
I usually remember to set things to max when I reset the servers after our races
but it doesn't always happen.

Yeh the GC ones do the same, have to reset to 28 every time.

Based on last night's practice it looks like the cars are more different than I had first thought  :o
Hopefully we will still get a good mix as I'm sure some people can drive the various cars better than I can.

Due to my lovely cat' sickness  :'(, I didn't train more than a few laps weeks ago, so won't be in a nice pace tonight. Sorry for that.
Hopefully now things go better for her.  :)

Is the password for tonights race the usual one?

I couldn't agree more. Had a superb battle with Simon in race 1, and was surprised to be able to catch and overtake Mr Geofers in race 2. I'm pretty sure he was on the wrong tires, but still :-))

Great event (x2) Some good racing, I was a mobile chicane in race 1 as I tried to get a decent pace out of the Ferri
and failed miserably, but Race 2 was some good racing with a couple of people, mostly NGR until we were caught
by the leaders, and in my attempts to let one through i got in the way of another and went into a fence bending the
steering, the car was still drivable though it didn't want to go right too much ( a bit of an issue here) but still
managed to get it to the finish  :thumbup1:

Sjeeesszzz, looking at the results these where some great races. Good to see such a large grid too. Really gutted i missed this one too. Was hoping to put my newish gaming rig to the test. Didn't get to race at all this week grrrrrr !@#$%^&

Congratulations to Mr Melis for his two wins but I think that Federico made sure that he knew he had been in a fight!  ;D

Some great driving from Otto also, not to mention two good results for Stig from the back of the grid in both races!

Hope I can make the next one as that was a good evening's fun.  Simon was still complaining this morning that his eyes were blury after the "extreme" sim racing evening.

Race 1
Amazing!!  I watched the replay and the midfield battle was incredible. At one point there were 2 Ferraris and 5 Renaults all biting lumps out of each other  :fencing:
I found a TR4 parked just after T2 which dumped me back to the rear of the field but the race getting back to 8th was just fantastic.

Race 2
Bum start put me well back but the predicted carnage lifted me to an eventual 6th. Worked hard to catch my rotten Brother but couldn't quite do it. I witnessed the best Porsche blow up ever which is going on You Tube, it was a classic.

I was disappointed to miss race 1 by a matter of a few minutes  :-\, so I waited and joined Race 2 in a hastily prepared BMW.

Qually went well and given the quality of the aliens in the field I was amazed to get on the 3rd row!.. As usual made a total Horlicks of the start and lost a few places. Geez that was a congested race!! one small error and it seemed like 27 cars were poised to take advantage and sneak past!!!

I was battling with Geoffers(?) into T1 and was forced to use the demon braking button on my G25, even employing 1st gear for some extra retardation to deny Geoffers the chance. Unfortunately, having looked at the replay from behind the sofa, I think I also leaned on Snr Dan pushing him off.

A few laps later and I think I was first on the scene of the Porsche mega blow up. Just as I was lining up to nail the gas through the final corner, there was a wall of tyre smoke and some very thick black stuff totally obscuring the track and anything else. I eased back and gingerly held the inside line , just hoping that there was nothing "parked" in the murk.
Next lap I was on the receiving end at T1 and although I was able to rejoin the car just had zero power, so I pulled off and parked to avoid being a hazard.

A shame because it all looked like good insane sim racing at its best!! ......maybe next time??!!

looking back at the race I do wonder if, considering all the extra hassle and cost that comes with "real" racing, why people bother  ??? ??? :)

Chortle. It seemed that all went well, I had a couple of misgiving before the event in that the Renaults were seeming faster than I had
expected, but it was too late to change so just went with it. I was also a little nervous about a 20+ grid on a relatively short track
but was hoping it would turn out to be "intense" as there are a couple of passing places if there is enough of a difference
between drivers, and that's what happened mostly  :thumbup1:
Top marks to the lappers and the lappees for not causing too many incidents, I was involved in a few scary moments as the leaders
came round to pass, but apart from one off, everyone seemed to cope quite well.
Thanks to all who came to race, and on to the next one.

It's clever the way that he has filmed it so that his steering wheel looks to belong to the car.

Also impressive, considering how quick he was going, was that he was using the gear knob instead of flappy paddles!  For a minute I thought that he had a crash hat on but then I realised it was his headphones.  ::)
