Title: UKGPL Season 28 (2015) Friday Trophy - Hockenheim 67 - Mar 6
Post by: Cookie on March 02, 2015, 10:59:25 AM +0000
Season 28, Friday Mixed Trophy, Round 1, Hockenheim 67

The opening round of the S28 Friday Mixed Trophy finds us back at Hockenheim.
Using the 1967 layout the track has some long fast straights through the forest and a tricky, twisty stadium section.

If you have not yet installed the track: install "hockenheim.zip" and add Thomas Laechele's high or lowres version (http://www.thomas-laechele.de/gpl/index.html)!

This first race is free of handicaps,
but remember: for the LIGHT drivers the most popular car will be dropped for the rest of the season!

ONE reset is allowed but the Shift R must be followed by a Stop & Go in the pit lane within TWO laps.
If you Reset on the last lap a 30 second time penalty will be awarded if you cannot s+g before the finish line in the pit lane.

Drivers must complete 50% of the race distance to score.
Please check the Season 28 pages for details (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=470&theme=6) regarding rules and the Friday Trophy (WIP!) (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=481&theme=6) pages in particular. -> Registration post! (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=12909.msg232304#msg232304)

Since I read that is possible one shift-R without  stop & go,but there is some penalty or not for a S-R?

Sorry Fran the championship page is still WIP...

Now corrected as intended:

ONE reset is allowed but the Shift R must be followed by a Stop & Go in the pit lane within TWO laps.
Shift+R without Stop & Go = DQ
Multiple SHIFT-R = DQ

Took the lead.  Phone rang.  Spun into wall.  Engine damaged.  Hate world.

Well done Greg!

Congrats Axel and Bastian! Sorry to put such a whipping on you Axel at your home track but I was hungry for a win.

I couldn't have asked for a better result. Snatched the pole from Axel with less than 10 seconds on the clock. I got a rather shaky start. It took me 4 or 5 laps before I got through the Ostkurve without difficulties. After that I was in good shape. That was my best Phil Hill impersonation by far. I hope one day I can do impersonations of another fellow Yank, Mark Donohue. He drove the GT40 Mk IV, one of my least favorite cars he drove but 1971 Ferrari 512M would be glorious.

It was good see you back on the track Mark. I wondered if you'd make it and noticed you just before I left to install a virtual mirror. That was some terrible luck. I thought you did like me and overcooked it too early. I can't blame the phone for my early difficulties. I was prepared for a long, close race between you, Axel, Dean, and me.

Thanks guys.
