I'm kicking myself anyway...spinning on the last lap and in the lead with a 12sec gap..... and then to make matters worse I got stuck on the kerb for about a minute and had to watch you all cruise by :'( :P

Grats to Greg and also to Aagramn who drove a stormer.
When I was behind Aagramn for the first part of the race I really was on the limit to keep up with the Lister, loosing time in the middle sector and gaining on the straights. This concertina continued for a good while, thoroughly enjoyable even though there were a few close moments.
Onto Monza next which I really enjoy in the GT cars.

Wow what a fantastic race that turned out to be 8)

Thought i'd dropped a clanger when you all told me at end of qualy how crap the Viper is ::)
Still, qualied quite well just behind mr Shark in his Chevy yank tank with a 1:37.4?

Good clean start to the race..(bet you was nervous shark with me behind you in turn1 after the Pops disaster last week ::))..there was no way i was gonna repeat that! :-*
Stuck to the front pack for a few laps but they gradually pulled away as i had my mirrors full of 550's wanting to blat past.
They picked me off one by one down the straight which was very frustrating, but then i could catch them in the braking zones and curves with the slightly better planted viper.
Had great side by sides with Tyf in his saleen, and an almost race long battle with Mark@Gp in his 550 and Whitham in the other Viper (felt sorry for you whitham when you finally went off, you kept a great 1-2 sec gap for lap after lap).
The last 6 laps or so were pure adrenalin filled battles with Mark@gp in the faster 550, with what i thought was 1 lap to go we both absolutely steamed through the final corners, tearing my (Our?) tyres to shreds only to find i had yet another lap to do...bambi on ice time :o
MarkGP finally went wide on turn 1 on last lap mirrors full of Viper, no doubt ;D and then unbelievably i turn around turn 3 to find Mo straddled across the track and nicked a place off him too.
I crossed the line about 3/10ths in front of MarkGP by absolutely tearing my tyres to bits through the final corner as i knew he had the straight line speed to get me otherwise.

Finished 4th, my highest GT championship placing  8)

Great stuff, it makes up for my bad pit luck in enduro so far! Still buzzing....off to stroke my viper now :P

The last two races have been exhausting. Managed 2nd on the grid, but with Mo joining qual late and right behind me I knew I was in for a battle. Was surprised to find I could just about keep him at bay over the first half of the race, although every time I made the slightest mistake and lost a tenth or two he would close up again. Had to watch the mirrors closely under braking to see if he was closing before taking the apex. Leuven went off early, handing me the lead for the first time in a league race.  :o With about twenty minutes to go I made the inevitable mistake, braked a bit late and ran wide. Found a train of cars behind me and rejoined in 4th or 5th. Had a good battle with my team-m8 Shark where we swapped places a couple times, taking turns to gnaw on Greg's bumper ahead of us. Eventually spun at the chicane. Rejoined in 4th with no cars around me, but unfortunately Mo spun out on the last lap, giving me a lucky 3rd.

Very pleased to qual 2nd, and pretty pleased with my 2nd consecutive podium  8) , but a bit disappointed not to keep it on the tarmac for 40 minutes. I'm rarely going to get a better chance to win a league race.

Excellent win by Greg to hold off a couple hungry Sharks for 40 minutes, but bad luck Mo. Good to see a couple Vipers & a Corvette on the grid, very good driving to make them go that fast.

That was a real good race. The first few laps me and Tyf were duking it out then me and demonic dan. towards the mid race it was mark jonzo and mark@ all 3 of us were having problems with tyres i ended up spining out on the circane and giving them the places back :) After that it was down hill for me tyres had more feel and i couldnt push

Had a lag problem on the formation lap one minute i was behind a lister the next we were in the same place on screen then the lister was in front and i hit them. sry for that, who ever it was and the people behind. i caused chaos there

Enjoyed that 1 a lot! Thought I'd have a laugh, 'be a man', etc and drive the GT2. But in quali I noticed I couldn't even get near my own PB lol. Hence in last minute I switched to another car. Hope no1 minds :), since I really would have been a driving chicane tbh with the GT2 :D.

My new found friend is called 'Saleen', lol! That car is awesome!
Formation lap some1 ran wide and I think the starting order went a bit 'off' :). I waited till the tires were warm and then tried some passing moves, which surprisingly worked out quite well!? ??? :o ;) Blame the Saleen for that btw, nothing to do with me, hehe.
Since I've only driven the Saleen for hotlapping before I made a slight error, hehe. Medium rears, haha! 700+ HP on 140 degree rear tires doesn't work out too well as I soon noticed! :-\ :-X :-[ SPIN!!! And again another one, so decided to pit at about 22 mins to go. Changed the rears to hard and set some pretty fast laptimes after that. Even gained on Shark and the other frontrunners! Woohoo. Then I got obviously over confident, hehe and yup, u guessed it... SPIN!!! LOL!
Couple more of those until I finally managed to keep it on track for a couple of minutes during which time I overtook Gerald, soz m8 ;) and Flybri (SPIN!!! ;)). Unfortunately Mo was a lap ahead, hehe, else I would have taken him as well, lol! Noticed he was stuck after a...
Yup u guessed right again...

SPIN!!!

Cracking race really although I had no chance really of passing anyone on my own.  :)

Taking the Corvette put me nicely in the thick of things in 6th or 7th in qualifying with a pretty nice time I reckon for that car. Certainly was 1.1 seconds quicker than I'd gone before in it. 8)

Into the race and I just followed Greg round for the entire 40 minutes really. The Corvette was stellar on the brakes, I was running 100% brake pressure and could just nail the brakes full pedal down into T1 with no lock up, fabulous. Greg's F550 would whizz off down the straight and i would catch up under braking and round the twisties. Of course that left me a little problem, no way to get by, although to be fair our pace was almost identical. I was losing time in the final bend where all the other normal GT cars seemed to have so much more grip and drive out the final bend and then extra pace down the straight it was making it really hard. This was running full wing it just didn't have the high speed grip of the normal GTs and certainly either not the grunt down the straight or cause I was having to run full wing more drag and less top speed. :-\

After Leuven made his initial mistakes he came up to pass me and tried to out do me into the braking into T1. I was thinking ho hum, I know what's going to happen. He 's carrying extra speed from my slipstream and he's trying to outbrake my awesomely braking Corvette. Dunno whether he waited till I broke or not but if so big mistake as he had no chance of stopping his F550 and ploughed straight on into the gravel.  :P

Three quarters of the way through Aagramn had slipped back between me and Greg and then he made a mistake which let me through. Later I just caught the inside of the curb on the final turn momentarily causing me to lose speed and Aagramn pulled up along side on the straight. We went side by side into T1 into braking where I was super late on the brakes but he squeezed me out like a true Shark and I had to back out big time to avoid contact.  :o

Again no chance of passing either him or Greg so I just sat patiently behind both of them keeping pace with them waiting for a mistake. Sure enough Aagramn spun into the really slow chicane. This left Greg 2nd and me 3rd with just a bit to go and Mo long gone in the lead.

On the last lap Mo span leaving Greg and me to battle it out for the win. Knowing it was now or never I pushed the Corvette as fast as she would go in the hope that my yank tank closing in would force Greg into a mistake, but not quite, I had the speed through the twisties especially the really slow stuff where both Greg and Aagramn were slow, but coming out the final turn I just had to watch as Greg crossed the line about 0.4 ahead of me.

Best race I've had in a while, really helps taking a slower car to get more in the pack, but it does make it hard to pass anyone as there is usually no extra pace to get out of it and is certainly difficult to stay with people in the most important places.

Good win Greg, bad luck Mo for the final lap mistake and nice 3rd Aagramn, excellent points for Team Shark.

Turnout was dissapointing again. Only 15 raced. Looks like GT is not as popular anymore.

I might take another different car next round too. The F575 hardly gets a run out and I need some extra top speed at Monza one of my worst tracks so could be nice taking a different car again. The Viper is pretty good at Monza though, so I might get the beast out.

Actually no, I knew you wouldn't do it again, especially as you had no team mate to knock off.  ;) ;) ;) :P :P :P

WOW what a race again.
Qualed in 6th with the intention of trying to stay within 2 or 3 places of Mo.

Generally I'm crap at Estoril but tonight it all seemed to come together, a reasonable pace, no spins and gradually picking up places.
Never had a moments rest for the whole 40 mins with constant pressure from the guys behind, my only saving grace was that Shark decided to take a slower car tonight so I always had the edge on the straights.

Couldn't believe my luck when Mo span on the last lap (bad luck mate, nightmare for you) and I inherited 1st.
Believe me guys I know I'm not the fastest and this win was mainly down to luck but I am so chuffed to get a rare win.
Even more pleasing is to notch up a win on the first official race for 28CD Motorsports, just hope theres a few more to come . ;D

Sounded like a good race. :)

15 isn't so bad, smaller fields can be quite good fun imo.. next season maybe some of newer members will join up. Sorry I missed this one, got a virus from connecting to internet without firewall after reformat/installing win2000. Installing winXP atm will be sorted by Sunday..

Consistancy is as important as outright pace. Assuming JonM doesn't make it to the last race you just need a single point to take the championship!

Hard to say, we always experienced number drop off in GPL towards the end of a season, although we never had the same number of reserves.

I notice there are 2 or 3 Full Timers that haven't turned up to a single race, which is dissapointing.

Was a good race anyway. I battled with 3 or 4 drivers really the whole race and that was plenty.  :)

;D, the board that my pedals are resting onwas wobling as the wires behind it had moved, plus the pedals slipping too  ::)
Thats why I ended up going off in the first place while out in front and not even under pressure and just cruising I still couldn't brake while not having sturdy pedals.

I think eveen if the pedals were solid I probably would have had a hard rime stopping like you say as It redlined in 6th before braking zone where it would not even be close to red line if I was out of the slipstream  :o

Hopefully Monza will provide a stronger race performance from me as Estoril is a bit of a weak track for me. :)
