Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.

rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v3 from:  http://gtlw-blog.flyingpig.info/
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

I had high hopes for the TR4A as the default setup wasn't too understeery but the best I could do with it was a 1:50.5. The gearbox is just a bit off for Oulton. I tried the Fezza and the Healy but they are just horrible (understeer 2xs). I then tried the Renault using the same setup as I used at Lakeside (Otto?) and managed to just get into the 1:46s. Looks like ringing the neck of a 1300 is the way to go.

Great track without the modern chicanes too!

When I looked yesterday there was no server up but haven't looked since.

Looks like Tony started the server.
Simon is right, the A110 is too fast here.

Car choice changed: Renault removed, Lotus Elite and Mini 1275 Gr2 addeed

The Mini worries me.

This is the slower of the 1275 groups. For me it's a second and a half slower than the TR4
so a good mini pilot should get it round at a similar pace. The Renault was over a second
faster for me in 2nd testing, so that was too much. Geoffers gets the Elite and Mini round
in unreasonable times historically, other may not, so I can't allow for every skill.

I tweaked the default setup slightly and got the TR4A round in 50.2 in practice mode/race fuel. The Elite felt like a total dog to me, I struggled to get into the 52s and as for the mini, I don't drive front wheel drive cars on principal  :).

I take it you wouldn't be interested in driving the 400 BHP Alfa 147 GTA from Autodelta then?

I WOULD !

:-))

Thanks to everyone who has donated towards our running cost's, but we still have a little way to go.

So if you haven't divvied up and want to avoid sleepless nights worrying about our survival, please consider a small donation.

Thanks

Tony

Mmm, i was more or less busy installing my newish DFGT  :) so didn't come to really making a setup. Best laps was a low .53 in the Elite. And i am guessing i will stick to that car for the race as i have never used it in anger before in P&G.

I am getting mid 53s in the TR and the Ferrari, a second slower in the mini and 54s in the Elite
but then I am carp with the mini and the elite traditionally.

My internet went down in qually, and stayed down just long enough for me to miss the start of the race *sigh*

Have a good one.

Shame i could not make it home in time. But looking at the posted laptimes i would not have stood a chance in the Lotus Elite!

I was doing low 51s in practice so I may have struggled a little to keep up with you, but yeah it was a shame not to at least have had the chance to try..

I was doing 53 initially, only got down to 50 later on. Clive kept waiting for me so we didn't feel too alone  ::)

A few exploratory laps on Wed evening confirmed that the TR4A was the car that best suited me for this round. I was a good 2-3 secs off in the others with only the Mini offering any hope of getting sub 1:50 if I spent the time learning to drive it and getting the lines right.....(too much like hard work in too short a time frame!!!)

Qually showed that Simon and myself were of a similar pace and i was looking forward to a good race, I did think that his  his sneaky tactic of laying a smoke screen once he got in front of me was not exactly "cricket"!!!

But, after a lap his engine expired and he quit.  I was left all alone with a 3 second gap to his family member up ahead. I new that I had to cross that gap and get into the slipstream if I was going to stay with the fast brigade, and in the first lap of the chase I was closing.....until I ran wide and dropped another second. A few laps where ambition exceeded my ability to keep things smooth and I steadily lost ground.
It was clear that I was about 0.5secs a lap too slow to live with those ahead ( need more practice in PnG I think!), so I slowed to give Phspok some company and practice my close combat skills  ;)

Grats to Fede and the podium, tantalisingly, just too fast for me to live with.
