Title: UKGPL Season 28 (2015) Friday Trophy - SC - Le Mans Night - Jun 26
Post by: Cookie on June 23, 2015, 12:01:17 PM +0100
S28 - Friday Trophy - Round 16 - Sport Cars - Le Mans Night (nbsarthe)

The penultimate track of this season will be classic Le Mans.
We will be racing at night.
Most famous race in the world is probably the 24hours at Le Mans. It has also hosted several Grand Prix including the first ever - the French Grand Prix of 1906. The Grand Prix name ("Great Prize") referred to the prize of 45,000 French francs to the race winner. The franc was pegged to the gold at 0.290 grams per franc, which meant that the prize was worth 13 kg of gold!

Remember: for the LIGHT drivers the most popular car will be dropped for the rest of the season! Look at the bottom!

ONE reset is allowed but the Shift R must be followed by a Stop & Go in the pit lane within TWO laps.
If you Reset on the last lap a 30 second time penalty will be awarded if you cannot s+g before the finish line in the pit lane.

Drivers must complete 50% of the race distance to score.
Please check the Season 28 pages for details (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=470&theme=6) regarding rules and the Friday Trophy (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=481&theme=6) pages in particular.

I will try to be here, I really like to drive in Le Mans.

No Chap, no Ferrari, no 910, no Lola ...so only Ford/Mirage could be selected ?

Yes David  ;D

These Fords were made for LeMans and I hope the Mirage can be saved for Bikernieki...

What a shame!

I'm hoping this race might draw a larger turnout. I hope Mark makes it. This ought to be a lot of fun. I'm always up for GT race at Lemans. I'm going to have my try at one of the big Fords.

See you Friday.

I voted to join this Series some weeks ago, but have not yet been registered.  No great loss as the handicap hasn't really kicked in yet.  I'd like the chance to dice with more than a couple of cars.  That becomes less likely as numbers drop.  I'll vote again now, and perhaps show up at Seasons end. :)

Just a call and the registration helper is done...

Seems you don't understand the handicaps: heavy guys have allways a free car choice!

Drats! I had major computer problems. That sucks that I missed the race. I would have added a little more variety with Mark IIB.

This week's "often-neglected rule that bears occasional mention/reminding" is:

Quote
Shift-R (resetting the car)

Shift-R is allowed only in a race, not in practice.

from https://www.ukgpl.com/index.php/rules/etiquette

Thanks for ruining a decent lap and any motivation I had for trying again, Bastian. :thumbup2:

That was really fantastic stuff, a terrific fight with Axel in the big Fords.  I wasn't sure how well the Mk 4's could actually draft each other, but in practice they did fairly well.  Lots of good passing and hustling.  Sorry about the bump at Mulsane, it's so tricky under braking when behind another car and I got caught out.  Thanks for the race!
