This threads had 40 views yet not a single post  ??? Come on people, create some pre race hype and banter, post practise times, car choices...anything!

Why don't we get people to choose a car for the series rather than a free for all? That way all the power cravers in their Nismos might come unstuck if there's a tighter track somewhere down the line  ;) we could even pre choose skins to make it personal, even just stock ones, not like we have 25+ drivers.

My PC's at the shop having some upgrades, new ssd master drive etc, so hope it all works when I get it back tomorrow  :-\ and doesn't leave me much time for praccy  :(

I'll be in the SLS for the whole of the series. 1:49.4 after a quick test on race fuel and 100% grip.

Nowthen Tony. You were not able to say that a year ago, plainly these people are not aware of the
new GTL release.... Is it April 1st again already?

Ok, so you were able to say that a year ago    ::)

A year ago (to this very day) we had a twelve car grid (and you finished 2nd).

And last Wednesday we had a 13 car grid, while last year we didn't have one at all. Your point?

Can we all please refrain from the stupid "this sim is better than that sim" discussion, some people like some, some people like others.

Steam is now running from my new c:  but its trying to download all my flipping games again from scratch. How do I get it to use the games already installed on c: ?
Help! I cant just copy it all to the new c: as it wont fit !

I found this in the settings...
Steam - View - Settings - Downloads - Content Libraries - Steam Library Folders

Hope it helps.

I would uninstall Steam and reinstall it and when it asks you where to put it point it to your D drive instead where you have stuff already.

I updated AC, and bought the Dream pack. I have managed to get the steering so I can drive it
so I would like to have go. Not liking the "feel" of the cars so far, but perhaps there is some
getting used to it to do.  I have reduced the graphics detail and now it runs well off line
but on line it is jerky and choppy. Is this normal? or am I missing something?

Newbie alert  ::)

im back in action  :)..phew relief!

Thanks for the links Sharky, had just found the same one and was trying it out. Not ideal as means steam is still installed on the slower old HDD but once I can make some room there is a way of individually moving certain games out of the steamapps folder onto your ssd using 'junctions'. Will give that a go when I get some spare time.

Will prob be in the Black Z4 tomorrow eve if I can get any practise in before the event otherwise I will take an MP4 as think ive raced that here before so should have a setup already.

Install steam onto c:\ then download a game but install it to D:\. It should create a d:\steam\library folder then just copy and paste your other games into that new folder and they 'should' not have to be re-downloaded, you might get the "running game for first time, checking files etc" messge tho.

Aha! Same here Matt. I am trying to get my DFGT running to my likings in AC, as it is the only game it doesn't feel right out of the box. I am running a 540 degree rototion ratio for now, but still not ideal... it seems to be very car dependant.

I had some jerky moments online too yesterday evening, so i am reducing the graphics detail also. Offline was no problem for me either, so maybe some connection problem? (altough i was running on wifi yesterday, so i was blaming that... normally even my wifi is good enough for gaming though, i do all online practice wireless as i did the R3E test race last week)

Still getting used to this game and was pretty off pace in the SLS with a 1.58,3xx. I will try to make the race tonight though! Newbie alert  ::)
I've got all necessery apps up and running now thanks to the tips in the other thread. Thanks all.

I would set the wheel rotation on 900. I have it for PnG on 360, but that's more because of the lock setting. In AC every car will feel much better if you set it on 900 (1080 if the wheel allows it).
Know that the some apps you see on my site (http://eroeter.home.xs4all.nl/AC/AC%20apps%20and%20settings/) can cause judder/freeze. That goes for the Ptracker, Race delta and Mini apps. For me it all runs smooth, but that's not to say that it will for others. For me there was also worse performance if I don't set fps limit in game.

I have my game and steam installed on my E drive. I did a test to see if there was any improvement if I set game and steam on my ssd, but no no change in performance what so ever for me.
I also don't see any difference in replay, between high and very low setting. Maybe anyone else does?

If I set it to 900 I can't drive it. It is like steering an oil tanker. I have found ~450 to work as well I can get it too, same in RRE
I will try setting a frame rate limit and see if it makes a difference. sometimes it is fine, but at times it jerks suddently
not a frame rate slow down so much as bursting.
Thanks Erik

It's a pity that so many dropped out. After a collision with Mark J my car was crabbing badly and I pitted for repairs. Seemed like ages in the pit. Those that left would have easily got past me.

My race was fairly dull in the end as I could not keep up with the leaders and I was too fast for the people behind so I was a lonely 4th.

Something weird with the downforce though as I found that the car was both faster in a straight line AND in the corners with a lower wing. I ended up running 6 on the back on the Nissan. I tried 12 but it was low in a straight line and slower in the corners. Go figure. Very strange. 6 was lively, but faster.

>:( It's time the bloody kerbs were fixed, it's supposed to be the finished article. That's two races on the trot for me the kerbs have launched me off, not happy.

It might mean you are running the car too low. I used to get that in the Merc especially at Nurb last corner and the fast chicane near the end of Mugello. Raising the ride height fixed it, but also not running over those particular curbs is a good idea. If you're losing it under power try reducing the power differential too.

I was sitting in the pits after qually with the countdown to race counting down the seconds to go. When it got to 60 secs to go the game froze. I crossed my fingers for a few seconds hoping it would sort itself out, but no such luck, so I did ALT/CTRL/DEL and forced the game to close. I then booted up AC again incase everyone had frozen up and we were going to restart the race, I entered the online game and it plonked me in the pits in the middle of the live race (lap 3) and I was able to drive out of the pits and join in!
After doing a couple of laps I decided to press esc as I was several laps down and didn't want to get in anyones way. I was then able to drive out of the pits and rejoin the race! A bit different from GTR2!

I succumbed to the kerbs tonight too  :'(  I was thoroughly enjoying chasing Picnic very hard for 5th place (that he nicked off me on the start line!), it was great fun and I was really going for it, closing him bit by bit. But as shark alluded too for Bob, I get the feeling my car was a smidge too low as I'd felt it tramlining over the kerbs in the early laps with cold tyres. Then in the downhill fast right I got a little too much inner kerb and it spat me hard right into the Armco at high speed. Car was smashed up badly, DNF  :(
Shame, as these cars at a track like Mugello are great  8)

Turnouts still a little low  :-\  had no pc for two days so couldn't do any promo'ing...nor praccy.

After sorting my skin out i forgot to select it! Lol im used to core-racings skin selection lol.

Anyway the race...

Well, i quallified using my race setup with mediums but low fuel, and it set me 2nd .. Had an easy first couple of laps up front then we started chatting on teamspeak and i lost my concentration a bit allowing eric and reinhard to catch up a little, managed to stay in front just i think, that nissan is a bloody monster down the straights! I made a questionable dive up reinhards inside on the first corner of the last lap which was a little naughty, but then its all racing eh lol.

A comment if i may, is there a reason why there are 3 simultanious championships /series running at the same time? Cant we just have 1 at a time and a weekly random race?

I think the random races are the best things tbh. Chances to drive different cars on different tracks.

Was wondering why I could stay on your tail Chris  :P Had good fun and kept a nice pace. It all ended when Reinhard passed me and I couldn't see where I was on track, when I was on his tail. It ended with me slipping on a kerb, luckily Simon was far enough back for me to keep 3rd place.

My point is the that the interest lies in consistent championships not pickup races. You don't need a league for pickup races.

^This. Which is why I'm running the cups instead of single races - that way it's still reasonably consistent but short enough that those of us with shorter attention spans (like myself) don't get tired of the car choice.

For the record, I wouldn't be racing here if we were only running single races either.

Sorry, wasnt around the last week as i've not been too well. thought i'd got everything under control but now i cant even go outdoors without getting burnt end up with my skin falling off!

Shame i was looking forward to driving mugello.

Err yeah, if you suffering from roadsurface or kurbs,  err dont do it, avoid it!

Just to say, i didnt like the single events, constantly changing cars requires way more time to work out how to drive/set them up. And not all cars suit all tracks so really you are quite limited.
